So, here it is: a look at the micro kitchen in my studio apartment. With a mini fridge, a tiny sink, a toaster oven, two electric ranges and a microwave I barely use, I think I've finally somewhat figured it out. I do wish I had an immersion blender though.

This was amazingly well made, and seeing the small number of views I just had to leave a comment. It's clear you put a lot of effort into this, and I really enjoyed watching it.
Oh wow, thank you! I’m a bit sad, because I’m not living in that kitchen anymore, I’ve moved to a bigger place! Which in some ways is more difficult - I had my smaller space all figured out! Thanks for watching.
Haha I am now living in this kitchen. The convection oven situation is surprisingly functional.
"I tell them I make the cake in a toaster oven and they lose their fuc**** minds". LOL!!! This was my first video of yours. It popped up after I watched a small nyc apt tour. I cannot wait to see more.
This was actually really helpful. I was looking at apartments and was put off by the micro kitchens because I cook all of my own meals. You definitely showed that with a few adaptations a kitchen like that can be functional.
Cooking for one is daunting, as my Dr advised, to slow up the fasting/increase active menu planning, even cooking for a week ahead. I've lost a significant amount of weight over the past year. Eat clean but rarely I guess. This is new for me as I am an old lady, used to cooking for family. Living in a van definitely makes my kitchen "literally" micro size. Just found your channel. new sub, great video
I know this video is old but thanks for the video. I moved in to my husband's place and he has a micro kitchen. I went from 24" counter space to a 12 "and that makes me not want to cook. This video made me feel better than I'm not alone learning how to work with a micro kitchen.
Lind's have you considered using a wheeled island wooden cart? Ikea has a multifunctional model with shelves to house toaster oven. It's an elegant solution for small spaces.
Great video. It's the only one I found that actually shows someone really using a micro kitchen, not just talking about it.
I am impressed! Having lived in two studio apartments, I could relate. Through Amazon I have found some stacking pots and pans that have detachable handles! Big space saver. I have a microwave convection oven that I use many times each week. Your sense of humor about all of this is great, too. Keep cooking!
Nesting mixing bowls are a must in my place! I cook for 5 plus, batch cook, and used to do pot luck/parties so I had to have several, Ikea has ones that nest all together and are metal.
This is a super realistic view of a small kitchen. Most small kitchens I watched are all for aesthetics. This shows what regular daily life should look like. You did great on explaining this. I really enjoying this video👍
I LOVE this! I live in a micro apartment and have a tiny kitchen as well so this was a great inspiration :)
Great little kitchen! You make good practical use of it. If it were me, id have a small kutchen cart on wheels to keep the toaster oven.
Most chefs, prep cooks, and bakers only have a small counter space to work from. This is why they clean as they go and discipline themselves to not spread out (into other worker's spaces).
Thank you for you video and proving small can be done. My wife and I have decided to remove our badly designed in 1995 small cramped U Shaped kitchen in our small sized townhouse/1,200 square feet and replace it with a new all on one wall Skinny Kitchen that has 86 inches of wall length to use. We are removing everything. And starting with a blank wall. This wall has all of the needed connection for bottom freezer frig 24", small deep sink/facet, dishwasher 18", stove 24"w/ceramic top range. Ironically, removing all the kitchen cabinets opens up the entire space giving us back around no kidding around 1,000 square feet of usable space both horizontally and vertically. We are reusing all of our original cabinets by relocating them to a dead space area on a wall. We plan to make a video as well.
You're so relatable
I have a tiny kitchen, too
And oven on the floor
Great video! I, too, am a one-person household with an odd kitchen. At some point previous owners of my sweet little house took the small 1950 kitchen and stuffed it with a washer, dryer, gargantuan double door fridge and full sized gas stove leaving (a to you expansive) 45” of counter space overshadowed by the single, low-hung upper cabinet. It has been a challenge to work in and could not do it without my kitchen cart. You have inspired me to think differently! Except for Christmas baking, I use only my toaster oven - cakes, pies, pizza, a whole baked chicken - there’s nothing one cannot cook in one with a little ingenuity.
this was so calm and relaxing to watch :) thank you, always like the vibe in your videos!
I just fell in love with your kitchen ,your so thoughtful about your purchases and your able to fullfill all your requirements within the small space available thanks for the video
Omg! I thought I was just being a lazy ass by eating out of the pot I cooked in but now you’ve made me feel like it’s a brilliant plan lol. You crack me up! Great video to break the Tuesday quarantine blues 😃
One thing you can cut down on is the blender. Immersion blenders do a fantastic job with a fraction of the storage space.
Although this video was made over a year ago, this has help put some comfort and peace of mind for me. I am going to move to a new home in a few months and I am going crazy how I am supposed to storage my kitchen supplies and cooking supplies. Since it’s just myself, I don’t need a lot of stuff and they are just tucked away in my cabinet. So thank you for showing this videos and also thank you for giving a peaceful mind.
I love how you still make high quality food!
I think your kitchen is amazing and I think you simply maximise all the space you have in this studio unit without looking cluttered.
I spent most of my life in Hong Kong where space is a premium if not a luxury. Back home, I invested in a USD 750 dollars for a Toshiba 7-in-1 convection/ microwave/steam oven which is so versatile that I can bake macarons and artisan bread in it. Now, I am living in a walkout basement in Toronto. My kitchen is 8 foot 3 inches long ( including a full height fridge). In order to continue my love of cooking, I bought a second hand west elm kitchen island / table with baker’s stainless steel top surface. This 46 inches x 3 feet wide kitchen island also serves as meal preparation/ dining/ and a work from home surface. I modified the kitchen island to add a removable screen to hide my air fryer/ bamboo steamer and other pantry items which here is a lot cheaper to buy in bulk. I am happy with what I have as I can still bake/ steam/ microwave/ air fry. I do have a anova sous vide machine which needs a step down converter and I don’t bother using it. People are amazed (or amused) with things that I can do in such a small space. 😂
Felt everything! When you've only got that much space, you get creative. The kitchen in my new apartment might even have less counterspace than yours. :O Hope I'll be able to work with that, too 😂
Love what you are able to do in your small kitchen. I agree with others in that a small rolling cart for your toaster oven might be helpful. Also, it is not a good idea to store food in an opened can in the fridge. Love your channel.
i love lindsay's obsession with BA - i feel represented
Thank you so much for sharing !!!
Wow.... That small kitchen unit looks fabulous, something I am looking for similar units in India. Thanks for posting this video
Your channel deserves more attention fine Lady.
I just love how "as a matter of fact" and haphazard everything is!
OMG toaster ovens are almost better than a full sized oven cause they heat faster, and because they're smaller they tend to also heat more evenly especially when you shop wisely
Moved into my 100sq ft studio back in August 2022 and this video is GOLD!!! I can cook again 🥲 thank you 🙏🏼
I had watched this video a while ago, and I'm still loving the idea of this small kitchen and its practicality
I live in a small studio and it was nothing but an empty big room when I moved in. I guess the home owner thought a studio was putting a microwave in the bathroom 😂. So I got permission to build it out. I only have one propane stove top and a full size fridge but I can cook gourmet meals if I want to. You just gotta become a master of your space.
I've done tiny places before, a wooden cutting board that can sit over your sink helps with counter space and might be worth it. Also a rolling island cart for the oven so you don't damage your flooring with it or have to bend all the time. I had a toaster over and an slow cooker on the cart, would just swap their spots as needed for use. Now I'm in a bigger place my instant pot and slow cooker live on it.
I just got a gourmia oven, as a surprise for my b.day, that.... air fries, dehydrates, broils, toasts, convection oven, bakes, roasts, reheats and keeps warm. I'm still learning about it but so far it is wonderful. It is unique, as it has double doors that open out. And it was only like $90.00!! Then I also have an electric water pot that is great! It boils the water faster then my stove! So anytime I need boiling water. I use it then pour into my pot. But your little kitchen is wonderful!!
The quality of this video is dope!!
Thanks I appreciate you saying so!!
i loved this! i'm building a kitchen and only have a tiny amount of space for it. every other video i looked at with so-called "small kitchens", well... didn't show very small kitchens at all.
this is so helpful, thank you!
I think investing in multipurpose appliances definitely help to reduce clutter in the kitchen. If you are interested, here is my own minimalist kitchen tips czcams.com/video/yNC-F6V3W6M/video.html xCC
Brilliant dead pan delivery, I lolled loudly.
Wow, what a well thought out video!
Thank you for making this, it's been incredibly helpful in planning out my own tiny tiny London kitchen!
Like the entire setup...
Super duper tiny kitchen! Loved it!
Thanks for inspiration, i am designing multiple small 2 bedroom apts in 600 sqft.
Thanks for sharing. Love the shot from the fridge. Well done. I too have eaten out of the pot I've cooked in. I've also left the peanutbuttered side of the knife over the sink so I can cut the sandwich in half with it.
Yes!! Expert move 🔪🥜
Your kitchen tools are the same to rich people. Nice living and healthy cooking. In this time of pandemic we must be practical. My house also are very small. Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
Great video. I understand the cooking-for-one woes.
You've convinced me and I'll have to buy a toaster oven.👍🏾
Toaster ovens are excellent, even though I have a main kitchen ( taken over by other family members in the house ) I have a tiny kitchenette upstairs so bought a cart and put a toaster oven on top. I have used it for everything from pizzas to roasted chicken and veg to rice dishes.
And I thought I had a tiny kitchen!! Like you, I also use a small oven, and think they're far better than a normal size even if I had the space for one. I think you are using your space amazingly|!! Well done.
thank you alot
I just entered a tiny apartment and this will help me alot to plan ahead and function in my small kitchen 👍👍
you go girl.
Love your sense of humor! Thanks for such a nice video.
I love all the Bon Apetit References! lol Jonathan and I freaking love the Gourmet Makes episodes!
Also seconded on the Glass Containers! I have a special loathing for plastic tupperware.
Also: I'm pretty sure I have more counter space in my 60's 15 foot Shasta camper XD Respect girl!
Eating food out of the pot is called Efficient! :P
Yes! Maximum efficiency. I'm not washing all that shit lol
I have those exact glass containers!
Great video. You seem to be using your space very well. If you look into rv accessories you can find some space saving kitchen things as well like cutting boards ment to go over your sink to give you more workspace or dish drainers that fit in the sink that can later collapse. Not being negative just letting you know about other options. Thanks for sharing!
This is very helpful for me to decide which appliances I really need. I move to a bigger city and only can afford tiny spaces. Thank you
Always love your vids. Another great one.
Pretty good stuff
This was pleasantly delightful. ❤️ I love how much you admire your culinary heroes. 😂
Some suggestions I feel might help:
You could have those under the cabinet storage for a spice and knife rack to store your spices, knives and spoon's.
Where you initially stored the knives, you could put up a small wall mounted 3layer plate rack using the bottom layer to store your oils, vinegar and cake mixer. It would save your some space I believe
And you could get those vertical pot rack to make use of the vertical space under the sink.
Also those waste bins that open and close like a purse while mounted on the door of the lower kitchen cabinet would help
Also
Great video!! Love your humor and your ingenious way to utilize a micro kitchen!!!!
Great video content! Real talk.
Omgggg thank you for posting this. I’m moving to a TINY flat with an even tinier space for a kitchen (if it can be called that). Yours is the only one that is somewhat like the size constraints I’m having. So thank youuuu again ❤️
what a great modle you are, I want my college kid to fallow you. I'm a fan your great!
I am transitioning to small living next year when I retire and I appreciated your video. Have you considered redoing the below the sink area to better maximize the space.
Thank god for this video! I just rented the apartamento with the smallest kitchen and I LOVE to cook, so this made me feel a lot better :)
Loved this video! Very very helpful and fun to watch
Thank you!
Loved the video, you've inspired me to try to make the best out of my small space. For anyone in small spaces I recommend "Lifetime" folding tables for extra space to do things when you need it, fold it away for when you don't.
Loved your videos well edited
Ayyyye! Shout out to Townsends! 💯🤌🏾👌🏽
Alsoooo... The nod to "Our Lord and Savior" did not go unnoticed! Especially with the fridge shots! 💯 So good!!!
Well organized in a so small space ... you rock it girl 🤗💪❤️❤️ and great video 😃
Great video, you’ve given me lots of ideas. Thank you
Really enjoyed this & your snappy repartee 👏
This is really helpful for my apartment layout! (And really well edited!)

Your kitchen is sooo cute, enjoy watching your vid babe! Please make more! Love from Malaysia ^^
So inspiring. I loved it
so happy I found this video!!
It's so weird how you have identical cooking techniques like mine man😊, God Speed❤,you have my "like" & "subscription"!👍
I love my hand mixer and often use it. My pots and pans are stackable because their hands are removable. It's a French brand : Tefal in France or Tfal in the rest of the world.

Shooot this would be mooore than enough for me if I had it downstairs where it’s an unfinished basement. I feel so uncomfortable living with my parents right now due to unfortunate circumstances. I hate using their kitchen because it feels like they get annoyed with me using it, but don’t/can’t say anything. But I hate the aura, and would just feel much more comfortable if I had my own kitchen. I mean, you even got your own refrigerator. Right now I’d be happy with just a hotplate, but if I could have a micro kitchen…🙌🏾
Great video. But what type of living arrangement you have that you made a little kitchen in your bedroom?
I love your video format
Excellent video
How do you do it for the cooking and smells that come from frying or cooking that stick to your bed and other stuff that absorb smells?
ok you’re my favourite youtuber now-
Well done. KUDOS!
The only thing I would change is putting most of those things in bags to keep critters away without having to use a bunch of poison
c: I feel understood hehe Thank you for sharing :3 your kitchen is cute c:
also, I'm sure you have considered this already, but could you get a small fold up table or even tall stool, just to give yourself a tiny bit more space to put things on? perhaps not the toaster oven, but even just like that box of spices or whatever else was on your stove top that you had to move in order to cook in the cast iron
I do move things around to my desk to get stuff out of the way haha, but I suppose I didn't get a good shot of it. I also VERY often end up chopping vegetables or kneading dough on my coffee table....lol
I think a flip up counter extension would be the most compact option, but it requires putting some holes in the cabinet :/
I was taught that it wasn’t food safe to store food in an opened can in the refrigerator. I don’t know if that’s true but I still stick to it.
You are correct! I didn’t know at the time either. I now store any leftover canned items in an airtight glass container.
6:09 is so me
grind the minimalist style, it’s rad!
thanks
Great job! Like the channel! Enjoy the recipes and jdeas😊
