- Hello everyone. I wanted to include my review of a couple upgrades to my Taurus G2 and G2C which includes micro red dots, front sight fiber optics, mounting plates, and lights.

One key and important feature I forgot to add pertaining to the OLight is the fact that it has a magnet at the bottom of the light where you can charge the light.

Maybe you said something about it and I missed it, but what was involved in mounting the plates? Did you have to mill anything or was it as simple as removing the rear sights with a (tiny) screwdriver and putting the plate on using the same holes?

Thanks man. I hear a lot of bad things about the G2 series but I have not had any issues with either of mine.
I have the RD3-0012 ADE on my G19 with a DDI Plate and the fit was great and the width is OK when on a wider double stack slide. I use the WERTZ M6 IWB Holster with the Olight Baldor Mini. Although I’ve lost the iron sight (rear) and no co-witness ability, proper use of both optics and laser I do not anticipate any loss in a quick ability to get my barrel on target QUICKLY. I still run my G26 with irons and TLR-6 with Vedder holster IWB. I’ve noticed no carry difficulties with the new optics and with the Glock platform (point and shoot grip angle) have no problem in rapid acquisition of the DOT. IF Ranges are close, laser time. The added weight to the G19 slide was no problem with any of my range FMJ ammo and defensive are higher power any way. The larger 0012 window does allow for greater acquisition esp in stressful draw and 6MOA dot I’m on the steel.

The plate didn’t affect the load indicator. I had to double check lol.
I have the same gun with the green dot. I am also going to add the olight. What holster do you use for your carry weapon? I am having trouble finding a left handed holster.
My Galloway Precision Mount I had to sand it down like 5 cm just so it'll fit in my holster I've got a tactical holster and it's got like 2 3 cm in between the holster and the site plate just so my gun would fit cuz it was pushing the slide back as I put it in the holster
I picked up a G3c in March. Only since then, Did I think about an optic! Of course I can get the Laser but, To mount a red dot style of sight, Wouldn't I need a Toro style slide in order to attach a sight onto the rail or, Does it mount in place of the rear sight hole????
How do you like those ADE optics? Been thinking of getting one myself.

I’m using the DPP plate. Just installed it today so will install red dot tomorrow after locktite sets

I don't use the safety on mine, for every day carry. I found that my holster tended to flip the safety lever to the fire position. I keep the chamber empty so my safety is an empty chamber.

i also love the fact the valkyrie mini is dead nuts flush. my only qualm is that there’s no laser. olight has the baldr s mini which is both light/laser. haven’t been able to find any pics of it on a g2c tho. and i’m wondering if it’s just as flush as the valkyrie.. or if it sticks out past the barrel

How did the follow up go with Lakeline? I just purchased the Lakeline mount, the Galloway is out of stock. I wish I would have found your video first, but I would still be in the boat of waiting for Galloway to restock... Also, does the ADE RD3-006B fit the Lakeline mount? Trying to determine the best option for my EDC. Last question, what is your experience with the battery life with both red dots?
I decided not to pursue because if I was to receive the slimmer mounting plate then I would have a wide red dot on a slim mounting plate and I do not believe I’d feel that look either lol.
006B does fit the Lakeline Mounting Plate. Also I’m not sure of the battery life considering that I turn the 006B sight on when I leave the house and off when I return. I’ve waited a review with a brother stating that he has kept his 012 on for about a year and it hasn’t died. The two sights require two diff batteries though so that may play a big factor.
@@teamsankey560 Mine should be in today, so I will see what it looks like. Expecting the same issue. The photos on their site do not show it over hanging that much. If it is significant like your plate, I will be requesting a return. thank you for your video and response.
What mounting plate are you using for the Taurus?
I'm going to get the Taurus g3c to add to my Taurus collection. And I'm looking at green dot sights. Is the Dot always on or is there a switch?
I switch it on when I carry as opposed to leaving them on. I’ve heard mixed reviews about leaving the red/green dots on and the battery life so I decided to play it safe.
Does anyone know if any of these lights would fit on the tarus g2c single stack mag model?

I had an issue with my olight baldr mini becoming coated in GSR (gunshot residue) after a single 32 rd magazine in the g2c to the point where it lost usability and the light and laser were blocked entirely. Thankfully the Baldr Mini was cleanable and placed onto a different pistol.
I cleaned my Baldr Mini with glass cleaner and had no issues.
I've also heard that if you do a light coat regualr chapstick the gsr won't stick and wipes right off.

How well do these sights hold zero? How many rounds do u have through each of them, and which would you reccomend ?
I have probably only out about 30-40 rounds through each and they have both held zero pretty well. I would recommend the green dot on the olive green G2C along with the less wide mounting plate (Galloway Precision).
i have one and i have a few hundread rounds through mine, holds 0 fine use blue thread locker
@@teamsankey560 i got the galloway optic mount plate for taurus millenium g2 and its as if my vortex venom dosent have enough adjustment to bring the dot down enough to be a true zero, idk if maybe the plate is defective or something?
Did the plate slide in or did u have to use a clamp to secure fire arm and tap it in mine isn't very easy to mount gets stuck.
Although I didn’t use a clamp to secure it, I had to use a rubber hammer for the Lakeline mounting plate to get the plate to slide into the spot. It was not easy for me as well. The Galloway Precision mounting slid right in without much effort. Not saying one is better than the other but just stating my experience with installing both.

Have you had a chance to upgrade the Recoil Spring & guide rod, also the Striker guide....? The Stock ones are made of Polymer but Lakeline makes Stainless steel versions of these parts. Upgrading these parts makes the absolute biggest difference to the G2C!
I have not as of yet but I plan on making the upgrade to both weapons here in the near future. I keep hearing about the modification so thank you for confirming that the upgrade does make a difference.

I did not. The sight stops before the load indicator.
I recently picked a Taurus G2C and shot it for the first time today and it failed to shoot twice because it didn't push a bullet out of the mag up into the chamber.
Oh heck no. Sorry to hear that happened to you. Not saying The G2 series are the best but I’ve honestly haven’t had either of mine fail yet.
My first G2 Millennium had multiple "failure to feed" issues. It ended up being some cheap, steel core hollow tips that were given to me. Haven't had a single issue with any brass rounds.
What holsters do u have that fits with ya lights on?

I love Taurus I want to get the g2c little brother the g2s that holds A 10 round mag single stack
There’s a lot less magazine and holster options. The whole gun is actually a little thinner than the double stack. I personally don’t feel like the loss of ammunition is worth the 0.100” of width.
My first EDC was the G2s I put the mag extensions on and had problems with the slide staying open on your last shot. Love the gun but I sold it to get my G3C.
Question did you have to do any work to the other one like file it down
I haven’t had to file either weapon as of yet for any reason. I just took off the original rear sights and installed the mounting plates

what if your sights die when u need them? u should get raised front sights, they can get a lil pricey tho

So why have a fiber optic front sight when you don’t have co witness? That front sight is kinda useless, isn’t it?
I had the fiber optic on prior to installing the rear sights. I got the rear sights shortly after watching someone else’s review on how it looked on theirs but you are right.
@@teamsankey560 ahhh, that makes sense. I just removed mine when I put the optic on. But that also requires taking out the barrel.
Also, have you checked out keeptinkering.com? They sell a few different triggers. Just a guy making them from home with a 3D printer but they’re only like $30. I got his SAO trigger with an extended trigger face so I don’t crunch my meat hooks up haha.
The reason that plate is wider is because you ordered it to fit that particular red dot they have a smaller red dot that fits on a smaller plate

Have you had any issues with the Red Dot & Mounting Plate coming loose? I was told that its not a good idea to remove the rear sights & use a mounting plate since it's not meant for that.
The red dot on the green one where did you get it ?
I got both the green dot slimmer micro sight (ADE RD3 006B) and the wider micro red dot (ADE RD3 012) off of Amazon. The slimmer plate is from Galloway Precision and the wider plate is from Lakeline LLC. I was able to put the plates and the sights on myself. They didn’t affect the load indicator.
After about a 100 rounds the sight will break.. the tiny screws on the side can’t hold up

I do as well. I feel that it looks more natural to the weapon as opposed to it being an add on.
Galloway plate is much nicer than Lakeline. I would not carry a weapon with an ADE optic. They auto shut off and if you need the weapon fast you will have a red dot that is off. I like the Fastfire 2. It never shuts off and has an auto brightness that works very well. Not really sure why you have a fiber optic front sight with a red dot, I assume you had fiber optic sights then went a red dot.
That is correct. I had the fiber optic on prior to adding the red dot but I may have to look into the Fastfire 2. That is my first time hearing of that sight.
Until recently I had a Vortex Venom on my Canik and ADE on everything else. I can't say the Vortex is really that much better than the ADE. I wanted to find a shake awake or an always on red dot with automatic brightness to carry and it seems the options are fastfire 2 or swampfox sentinal (at twice the price of the burris). I got a fastfire 2, and after using it a few months got 3 more to replace the ADE dots. I understand the fastfire 4 has an auto level mode but I don't think it's always on or shake awake. The fastfire 2 has an on/off slide switch on the side.

Thank you for this. Been going back and forth on Lakeline or Galloway. I just picked up a Solofish laser light combo for my G3 full size night stand weapon. (Slide doesn’t have the optic plate mount😢)
With my g2c, I’ll give getting a light, the gallo plate and a Romeo zero optic
Yours is wider because it’s not the RMSC pattern
Be advised, dry slamming the slides like that can damage your pistols, also you speak as if they are two different pistols when in fact they are the same, sans the lights and sights. 🇺🇸
