- This is my comparison of the three budget offeringa from KZ!
The ZVX and D-Fi (swtich and non-switch)
I forgot to mention in my video that both the switch and non-switch versions of D-fi have different sizes.
The tunable version os bulkier due to the fact that it has switches on board.
The non-tunable on the other hand is lighter and smaller in comparison.
The ZVX is the most comfortable for me out of the three.
As for the sound, as mentioned in my video. I much prefer the clarity and resolution of the non-tunabale version. They sound the most complete for me.
The ZVX is the smoothest of the three and is very easy to like. It has a warm tinge in the bass and the mids are very organic sounding, with inoffensive treble.
The D-fi tunable version is the most versatile ofcourse. You can choose 16 profiles of tuning. But I do think that the presence dip can sometimes make vocals unnatural sounding. Maybe it's just me.
You can't really go wrong out of the three. I also gave comparisons to more expensive sets in my video.
KZ has done a fantastic job recently. They are again pumping out sets, only that, this time, they are really tuned well.
Will they dominate the market again? It's for your wallet to decide.. peace! 😇

Finally someone reviewing the Dfi non tuneable 😂. Thank you so much.
You're welcome! 😊
@@Practiphile D fi non tunable vs castor Harman which is easy to drive with smartphone and not harshness in treble (I don't like switch because I have to use in habit with workout a lot)
sir, your review was totally helping me to choose my choice for these 3 iems lmao, thanks for the content!
Im glad it helped! :)
what was the choice? I'm thinking of getting non tunable d-fi
Akros actually made a mini review of the Non Tunable D-Fi a few hours ago and his comparison is similar to yours. In his Graphs, the Standard D-Fi is reading 2db more Bass than the highest bass setting on the Tunable, but it has less upper mids and treble. KZ's advertisement is a bit misleading with their own Graph claiming the Standard is set to the default setting in the Tunable version.
Oh wow i need to check that vid. But yeah, i gave my unboxing of the no switch a week ago so i thought i was the only one who have them for comparison.. 😅
@@Practiphile how I wish akros uses time stamp on his videos. Lol
Great video. Three very nice budget sets... Good job!!! Any plans to review the KZ AS24 non tunable?
I think i dont have one coming..
terima kasih informasinya bro
which one will you choose between kz zvx, kz dfi non switch and kz dfi switch? Who is the better for bass, treble and vocal?
I like the d-fi non switch better
first time I watch a video of yours, good content, you just need a better set up, the camara is allways focusing and defocusing, and I dont know but if you show more of the iems itself, the constrution of it, the cable etc....btw you got a new subscriber ;)
Thanks for the suggestions! I know i neee a new setup. Or at least make the presentation cleaner.. 😅..
Awesome review mate 👍 which one has more macrodynamics out of the bunch?
Id prolly say the d-fi no switch.. 😅
@@Practiphile my new ESX has arrived, it sounds like garbage, it sounds like a piece of sh*t. It has uncontrolled bass, treble has ttttt sound this time around soundstage sounds veeery bad! How do I get my money back?
@@Mykeoguns im sorry to hear that man. Maybe you can pm KZ about it.
@@Practiphile thanks bro. I've pm them now they're asking for proof (video) to be precise. Left ear has driver flex plus the set sounds like a low res IEM.
@@Mykeoguns the zvx is super amazing return it and get it
I'm totally new to this hobby. İ had no idea that music was this technical and detailed. Could you maybe make a comparison or just a review of the KZ ZS 10 PRO X and let us what you think of them compared to the dfi? Or maybe if you already tested them, which do you prefer?
Havent heard of zs10 pro x sorry.. but maybe u can pick cca trio.. its a much better pick for KZ recently
Will do. Thank you very much.👍🏼
A versão não tunavel tem mais brilho nos medios agudos?
My only concern on the ZVX is the 8k peak I keep seeing on graphs, do you think that 8k is a problem for its overall tuning?
I dont think its a problem.. :)
You say the non tunable dfi is "not as bassy" as it looks in the graphs, does that mean the ZVX sounds more bassy? I'm already considering buying the non tunable but I'm concerned with mid bass bleed or being too warm/bassy. I just want a clean balanced/neutral sound but I also don't want to work with switches with the tunable dfi.
If you want a cleaner sound, maybe d-fi switches will do..
Thank you for review Practiphile! Can i ask a question about: which budget iem for watching movies and playing single player games?
How much is your budget?
Sorry forgot to mention. Can you recommend for 20-25$ range?
@@quyendao5070 krila is good actually.. because you can change the bass thru the swirches
Which one would you recommend for music production? Mixing considerably
How does the non tunable dfi compare to the Wan'Er SG and the Hola? Which do you think is better and what are the differences between them?
I havent heard of the hola. But the d-fi has better balance and musicality for me
If you had to choose between salnotes zero vs. wagner vs. zvx, which one will be your pick?
Wagner!
easy Wan'er.. :)
@@Practiphile thanks for the reply.
i found the waner to perform very poorly for gaming and rock. Waiting for the zvx to test out
@@HardwareMana well tonally id choose the waner and i somehow agree that its imaging isnt as good. The layering on zvx is better i think. I just dont quite like the subbass boost.. :)
@@Practiphile well we can always reduce some extra bass but cannot add better imaging. I liked the 7hz zero better with some mid bass eq. But yes the waner is relaxed and chill
Hi which one out of these 3 are more bass, warm and relaxing , I’m not a basshead but i find that bright iem can tired my ears a lot quicker.
I have both, dfi non-tunable and zvx. I had my dfi first and absolutely love it but I just thought it lacks bass base on its graph in their website so I bought zvx. When the zvx came, I tested it and compared it to dfi. Their difference is not that big. Zvx has more bass but the dfi still has a good amount of bass. For mids, I like the dfi more because it has a good body for vocals both male and female. For highs, I like the dfi more too because it is less sibilant than zvx. Detail retrieval is also great on dfi, instruments are clear and it's more balanced. For comfort, both are great but I find that dfi sometimes can loose from your ears. So I changed the eartips of dfi to foamtips(zvx freebies) and the problem is gone. I would definitely recommend the dfi.
I think i will like dfi because (7:25, 7:43) of less bass and high on treble because i want it for pubg but still which would perform better in footsteps detection? Zvx or the dfi?
I have hola and waner but because of tuning, they are absolutely unplayable. Foot detection is very off otherwise they are good for casual listening. I am regretting for not waiting enough otherwise i would have bought zvx and dfi or dfi and waner. Hola is good but definitely not my type of sound, very laid back and smooth (as per your description it seems closer to zvx), is it?
I have a friend who is into competitive gaming and he said the d-fi is good..
I also planning to buy iem for bgmi/pubg but after reading your comment I confused coz my top 3 is 7hz zero, hola and waner... I have realme buds 2($7) for pubg and soundmagic e10c for music.. so if I buy hola/waner they replace soundmagic e10c am I right ? I want to upgrade from realme buds 2($7), and finding under $20...
@@mrvgc4477 avoid hola (specially) and waner for online game at all. I had spare qkz vk4 revised edition which i use over both of them.
I have heard good things about 7hz by many but i think it's old now with are replaced by newer iems kz krila (kz zvx and dfi are also good), chu 2, tanchjim one etc.
I know about krila gaming performance as one reviewer placed it higher than chu 2 but not by much.
I personally would advise you to check tanchjim one.
as a pubgm player, i'd say that the kz dfi w/ switch performs really well for it's price dude, my switch setup is UUDU
@@anugerahpraventyowibowo2532 i am planning to use my vk4 a bit more, and will see what future holds. But if had to chose one, it would be "tanchjim one" (2nd moondrop chu 2). I am shifted from older to newer iems.
I think you should have chosen krila over dfi.
Saya pengguna kz zs6, mau downgrade apakah rekomendasi kz dfi?
How's the stage/Imaging on dfi non tunable?
Almost 3D enough actually. I dont need much effort in perceiving instrument layeribg because of the deep stage..
is it good for a guitar player to use this kind of model?
I think so. The d-fi would be nice
Tangzu waner vs D-fi non switch which has better sound?
Wan'er is smoother.. d-fo non switch is more engaging..
@@Practiphile I see..ok thanks
d-fi or zvx? for casual listening and mostly fps games
D-fi for me
what about the microphone
Sorry my unit didnt have mics
What would you choose Kz D-fi non switch or hzsound hm zero eventhough the price is diffrent 🤔
Prolly still d-fi non switch
@@Practiphile thanks for the quick response! lately I'm confused about whether to choose kz dfi or hz hm zero and it seems I've found the answer 😁
@@akhdanziyad7972 same man xD
Any follow up thoughts on it?
@@JovanKKfrom what i've heard kz dfi has a balanced sound, i was previously bass head and i think the bass is good enough for most songs but the hype you get from the music decrease, overall same as said in the video and sorry for only being able to reply to your message now, i didn't know there was a notification xD
*Kz Dfi non tuneable
