Yeah. I don't know if anyone saw, but when Jeremy Lin was playing for the Warriors, every time he took the floor, the fans stood up, cheered and clapped. He was the first Asian American born to be playing on that level, while other players were from China, Japan or Korea. That set history, but the sad part was the NBA as an organization decided to ghost him out afterwards. He played more minutes for the CBA (China's Pros) and P-League(Taiwan's pros).
@@chrisp7110 Ghost him out? Not sure what you are talking about. Lin got a big contract with the Rockets then his role as a shooter didn't suit his style of basketball because Harden was a better player and both had to be ball dominant to shine. Then injuries haunted Lin.

For those of you who might be interested, I just tried to find what Jeremy's doing now and found this. A video that's three months old said he's playing in Taiwan for the Kaohsiung 17LIVE Steelers. In his debut game, which they showed highlights of, he scored 21 points had 13 assists. Next month his team plays the New Taipei King, which his younger brother, Joseph, plays for. I had no idea he had a brother who plays pro ball. He looked good. He's 34 now. I wish him nothing but the best.

I know it’s tough especially right now but you gotta think it is amazing how far Randle and Rose took this Knicks team. Even if we don’t get a second round exit, we got a lot of things to be proud of this season and excited for the next season. But I feel you man, I feel you. I wish the Knicks got rid of Melo instead of Lin.
The best “flash in the pan” moment in pro sports history IMO. He seized his opportunity and made the most of it. It’s too bad he couldn’t stay healthy while he was still in his prime.
Not bad NBA career at all...most would die for it. 10/11 seasons and a NBA title...playing big minutes...average double digit in scoring for a career...not a flash in the pan or one hit wonder.
Lol man I remember I was working in flushing NY when this Linsanity thing was going on, soo many Asian kids were hitting the basketball courts it was crazy. I remember before Linsanity the courts were full with Asian elders doing the aerobic workouts 😂
At least Lin was lucky to cross path with Coach D'Antoni, the only person in the league who had truly given him an opportunity to shine. Thanks to the digital age, the negative bias against Lin by the NBA community is well documented.
To be fair (unfair?), there's as Asian bias in all American sports. Even in Baseball which is 10-20% Asian dominated, (a guess percentage; it's probably alot lower than 20%) there is Asian bias. Asia's biggest (international) sport is baseball and Asian youths play the shizz outta Baseball. Nearly all (if not all) MLB teams have an Asian in the roster. To be fairly unfair, (again) most Asian baseball players are more contact hitters oriented where in America, we're more focused Power hitters. That's part of the reason why.
@@fakename503 Not just on TV or in the NBA, you see that shit in school all the time. At my high school, this Asian kid was a beast. The story of Jeremy Lin is one of the best in NBA history. Undrafted, out of Ivy League. Under recruited, but he has large heart! Second best player of the Asian race, next to Yao of course. I've been following him since he won a DII title in HS!
best is Jimmy Butler. Homeless to all star. No college scholarship. Nothing. He was drafted 30th in the draft. And he was thought to be another nobody.
On this exact day my third daughter was born, and my brother came over to help me care for my two toddlers. My brother and I (both lifelong Knicks fans) put the kids to bed and then watched this game on SNY, the Nets channel. First game we watched all year because MSG had been blacked out all year due to a cable dispute. We had been tracking Lin closely as fellow Asian Americans (plus he starred for my alma mater). I'm so glad we were able to see this game live, together!
The music playing in the stadium is so 2012. Feels surreal lol. On that note, I played basketball in middle school from 2012-14 and boy did we all love Jeremy Lin. He was every young basketball player’s idol back then.
Because not all the players can adapt to his agressive play style. Even the coaches don't know how much potential he can make on the court. Doesn't he just let things flow?
That's his game. That is what makes him good. Plenty of players attack the rim a lot like derrick rose and Russel westbrook. The only difference is he isn't as explosive as them. In New York he earned many double double so he can pass to but all the coaches want him to do is attack the rim.
But why did I cry watching this???? Such an epic throwback for every New Yorker, Asian, basketball fan 🏀 & little guy who no one believes in. Still have my Linsanity #17 shirt. Proud New Yorker. We'll never forget that time he was there.
It was really heartbreaking to see Jeremy Lin cried in a sharing in Taiwan several months ago when he mentioned that he was not signed by any NBA team. He is really a good basketball player!
As a Mavericks fan, i would love to have him on our team, even if we didn't necessarily "need" him. I love his passion and experience and he deserves to play alongside someone great again like Luka.
Seeing Tyson Chandler full of energy in 2012 reminds me that he left Dallas after winning a title in 2011. Really wish Dallas had kept him, he was a great inside presence to pair with Dirk. Prime Chandler didn't last that long, 2012 was the year to make use of him
I have loved him since the Hornets day and when he joined my Lakers for that one season I was ecstatic. he seems like a great guy and genuinely happy for Lin.
Watching these highlights makes me happy. Im a Warrior fan but I liked seeing him succeed as a Bay Area kid and former Warrior. Seems like a nice guy. Best of luck in the future Jeremy!
Have you seen the young players we have now? Lin's too slow to play guard. Too small to be a forward. He's also not a very good shooter nor a good defender.
Linsanity is what got me into basketball.. every night the Knicks were playing I’d make sure i finished my homework early and do what i had to do so that i had time to watch the games.. it was must watch tv and just a great squad they had back then.. like they do right now
He's just Thankful to God! What a beautiful sentiment after an amazing game. Imagine having played such great that you are remembered several years later still putting smiles on people face who are still cheering you on, on or off the court. Mad props too Jeremy, you're an awesome person!
@@amarirasheed6 thing is even though he didn't have much to do with the chip, he admitted it. Melo would have tried to sell that he carried the Raptors. And look where the two are now. We all saw that then and now
Man! This was so long ago the Nets were still in Jersey, feels like a couple of years ago. This was such a fun time in my Knicks fandom. Which has been mostly lows and few highs.
Still one of my favorite runs as a Knicks fan. I've followed the team through the 90's until now and this was such a good time to be a Knicks fan. I wish we could've found a way to keep this going.
Jonmangaming+ No he didn't lol...if the rocket and lakers got rid of him what makes you think he deserved that money? Lin is not a starter on any playoff team just know that
Lin was never really an all-star player. At best he was a good starter in that Knicks season but after that he was just a role player. He never averaged more than 15ppg. The Knicks couldn't afford to keep him even though they are a bad organization.
I just can’t help coming back and repeating this video every now and then. For me it’s the most inspiring moment I’ve ever seen in the past ten years. Jeremy all the best
He was an above average player but he was glossed over because of his race. He was at the right place at the right time. Knicks sucked and was desperate to get a win and he delivered. This is a feel-good story that we may not hear about again for a long time.
Lin is a comple package point guard he is a unstoppable scorer, a slasher/penetrator, playmaker, has a outside shooting, good iso player he's a go to guy when it comes to a clutch moments, until Carmelo Anthony destroys his career. Everything went down for Jeremy Lin after a Magnificent, Amazing and Unbelievable short hype for him by the Knicks.

@Bv Onj Lame response. Next time you try trolling, try using your brain.
@Bv Onj Oh, you shouldn't insult yourself.
The story of Jeremy Lin is one of the best in NBA history. Undrafted, out of Ivy League. Under recruited, but he has large heart! Second best player of the Asian race, next to Yao of course. I've been following him since he won a DII title in HS!
ASIANS FOR THE WIN!!!
Mike Weston Na jarret jack is better
Jordan Clarkson will be 3rd 🇵🇭
best is Jimmy Butler. Homeless to all star. No college scholarship. Nothing. He was drafted 30th in the draft. And he was thought to be another nobody.
Junaid Ali no isaiah thomas.Drafted 60th and is now averaging 30ppg
Never understood why the Knicks got rid of Lin. He made them relevant again and boosted their ticket sales. Bad management.
The only thing shittier than the Knicks is the city they play in. Lol you have Dolan and deblasio lol.
Agreed. I never liked the Knicks (grew up in NYC) and I even started liking the LIN Knicks because they were playing TEAM BALL.
They did it because Melo was uncomfortable with how he was taking over
@@isaacshingange3733 Yeah, I remember him telling the media "it's still my team." What a jackass.
what happens when an nba scouts somebody ?? this is the result of scouts not doing their job..
This is where Deron William's soul was stolen by Jlin
spacebjorn - yeah, sometimes there's a loser.
spacebjorn Too bad the next time they faced each other....Deron Williams ended Linsanity and took his life.
@@SDSOverfiend nah he didn't lmao 😂
Linsanity was one of the greatest moments in sports history.. One minute they love you, next minute they forget you..
Jeremy Lin raking those fouls like no other. No flop no fake ass acting just pure determination to win
I love how the commentators get more excited as the game plays on
Only the best NBA play by play guy ever calling the game 👌
They didn't have much to celebrate till then.!
No one gave him a chance except the knicks. He is doing work in Charlotte now but they don't let him do his thing as much as they should.
That's because the Point Guard he comes of the bench for, Kemba Walker, is really good.
hopefully he can do his thing in Brooklyn should be the starting PG
He actually got this chance by accident. This game was almost his last game in the Knicks. But luckily, he got it!
That 1 month was fucking magical, I know people who don't watch sports tuning in to watch Linsanity. Madness.
Appeared in my feed in February 2023 -- good to re-live this memory :)
But why did I cry watching this???? Such an epic throwback for every New Yorker, Asian, basketball fan 🏀 & little guy who no one believes in. Still have my Linsanity #17 shirt. Proud New Yorker. We'll never forget that time he was there.
Gotta love his teammates just letting him live in the moment and do his thing.
Except Carmelo Anthony
Jeremy Lin is a Knicks legend due to Linsanity, that was a hell
of a beautiful run by Jeremy.
bro i've watched his first game highlights so many times and i still haven't got rid of the thrill this brings me
It was really heartbreaking to see Jeremy Lin cried in a sharing in Taiwan several months ago when he mentioned that he was not signed by any NBA team. He is really a good basketball player!
I'm glad he got a ring with the raptors
Who here is waiting to see Linsanity once again with the Raptors?
Won a championship and led the Raptors to win finals. finals MVP 2019
And he did it all in 51 seconds- what a legend

I’m watching this and getting goosebumps. What a game off the bench
I will never forget!! It was the best time, I loved watching and rooting for J.Lin whatever team he was on. Miss you bro!!
As a Mavericks fan, i would love to have him on our team, even if we didn't necessarily "need" him. I love his passion and experience and he deserves to play alongside someone great again like Luka.
it would be nice to see that duo!
Dallas already had Lin in his rookie year on the summer league team but Dallas didn't sign him
@@kayonrossum4552 he did good too in that year
Yes, it would be fun to watch!
Bruh
love the way Fields hugged Lin and congratulating him on his night, one of the best guys I've seen.
Such a great moment everyone loves the underdog coming up big it's truly inspiring.
i'm watching this and i still get excited for him
i love watching this
"Linsanity" was the NBA for a brief time and it will be remembered fondly
This is still one of the most exciting NBA games ever. I love how much of an underdog this guy was
remember watching this live, gives me goosebumps everytime.
you just had to be alive for this Linsanity!!!
Watch this so many times, still gives me goosebumps
What a moment to live in during those two weeks back in 2012 as a Knicks fan!
2021, & Im still disappointed in the NBA for not giving Lin a shot.
Nah that's not it he kept getting injured that's why he wasn't a super star.
He does not deserve one. It's over
He can't be healthy for more than 28 games a season it's not personal
If AD keeps getting hurt the acne thing is gonna happen to him
Have you seen the young players we have now? Lin's too slow to play guard. Too small to be a forward. He's also not a very good shooter nor a good defender.
Linsanity is what got me into basketball.. every night the Knicks were playing I’d make sure i finished my homework early and do what i had to do so that i had time to watch the games.. it was must watch tv and just a great squad they had back then.. like they do right now
Not a nicks fan and never was. But I’m a Jeremy Lin fan, always was. Huge smile rn
He's just Thankful to God! What a beautiful sentiment after an amazing game. Imagine having played such great that you are remembered several years later still putting smiles on people face who are still cheering you on, on or off the court. Mad props too Jeremy, you're an awesome person!
Who is here after Jeremy Lin won his first championship
He better be thanking Kawhi for carrying his bench riding self and now out of the league self to a championship.
@@amarirasheed6 plus siakam
@@amarirasheed6 thing is even though he didn't have much to do with the chip, he admitted it. Melo would have tried to sell that he carried the Raptors. And look where the two are now. Lin is balling in Beijing and while Melo is in the NBA and Lin is not, Melo is exactly the same as he was in Houston. He had a fire first week, but that's it. Lin accepts the role, Melo doesn't. We all saw that then and now
Ok
Thank you guys for 500K!!!

This man is an NBA Champion.
Man! This was so long ago the Nets were still in Jersey, feels like a couple of years ago. This was such a fun time in my Knicks fandom. Which has been mostly lows and few highs.
4:58 is such a magical moment. Close game in 4th, whole crowd cheering his name, and he gets an and1
bro he slowed the game down and dished the ball and scored when needed solid point skills underated
Yes, it's NBA discrimination at work
I remember those few weeks of linsanity!!! Wish he was still in da nba!
Even watching this a decade later like bro went from the back of the bench to splitting the double against Deron Willams in his prime
Everybody's favorite basketball players usually are, Steph Curry, LeBron James, or Kevin Durant, mine is Jeremy Lin.
Millions of fans followed on JLin
Still one of my favorite runs as a Knicks fan. I've followed the team through the 90's until now and this was such a good time to be a Knicks fan. I wish we could've found a way to keep this going.
That was one of the best moments in NBA history. A bunch of role players tearing it up for a month.
11 years !
Thank all you guys for 1 MILLION!
Did you get money?
Shawn Yeh No. It got copyrighted when it hit like 2,000 views.
Ohh
How much money u make
Almost 3 mil now
The Knicks decide no to sign him after this.thats why Knicks never gonna win, stupid organization
Are you stupid? The knicks couldn't afford him dumbass once the rockets decided to over pay him
Jonmangaming+ No he didn't lol...if the rocket and lakers got rid of him what makes you think he deserved that money? Lin is not a starter on any playoff team just know that
Its not about skin color tho , lin is really underrated even tho he could do much more :v
Learn ball you fucking moron
Lin was never really an all-star player. At best he was a good starter in that Knicks season but after that he was just a role player. He never averaged more than 15ppg. The Knicks couldn't afford to keep him even though they are a bad organization.
Underrated part of this video's greatness is the background music. I keep going "Naw man, that song can't be from 10 years ago... oh damn."
This was great memories man I enjoyed it alot
I just can’t help coming back and repeating this video every now and then. For me it’s the most inspiring moment I’ve ever seen in the past ten years. Jeremy all the best
I respect amare stoudemire even more after seeing him cheering for his teammate like that.
He was an above average player but he was glossed over because of his race. He was at the right place at the right time. Knicks sucked and was desperate to get a win and he delivered. This is a feel-good story that we may not hear about again for a long time.
I dont know how many times i watch this. Im learning how God work in jeremy lins life.
knicks was so happy back then.
They'd rather feature melo in their faux triangle offense and they're now paying the price lol
+Golden State Warriors morph?
+Golden State Warriors no I mean u never give me shoutouts
In this moment, he was HIM.
Right on bro! 😎💅💯
always comeback to watch this. awesome
I remember watching this live. What a time to be an NBA fan.
Lin and chandler got some good chemistry.
None of that makes sense
@@kareemabdulwahhab6919 you too.
This was such a great story and such fun for NYC. Some stories don’t get the ending they deserve.
