Ham Steak in a Cast Iron Skillet

- When you come across a big ham steak weighing about two pounds, for only two dollars, this is certainly a bargain that shouldn't be passed up. Not the least because ham steak is one of the easiest foods you can possibly make, especially if you have a vintage cast iron skillet. I'm a fan of flipping my steaks in order to evenly cook both sides, so we cook this for about two minutes per side, flip, and flip again after two minutes. We melt a quarter cup of butter in the pan, and mix in a quarter cup of brown sugar. Then we cook the steak for about another two minutes, flip and cook until it's ready.

Yes as soon as you put it in the pan I thought the same, a bigger pan. Ha ha good videos. Keep em coming. Thanks
I always enjoy your videos. You have fueled my cast iron addiction!
It was delicious! I added honey and maple syrup to the gravy ... it was fantastic!
Glad to hear it!
Good job. Next time add coffee instead of flour and milk. It's called red eye gravy.
Mmmmmmm, Mmmmmmm, Mmmmmm. Oh my goodness Eric, that looks so good. You've made me hungry.
I'm watching this video at 3:30 AM Pacific time and the store doesn't open for another 2.5 hours.
Thanks for sharing another great video with us.

Dinner? Pfft.
That's just first breakfast
Looks delicious im going to make my glaze now. My husband and 4 kids thank u
A quick and simple yummy dinner 👍👍
Very nice.hey by the way me and my wife are gonna try your Boston Baked Bean recipe this weekend.
I hope you enjoy them!
Duane Richardson I tried that recipe and it was really good 😋
Try a healthy squirt of dijon mustard and paprika with a bit of water instead of milk and flour. Makes a tasty pan sauce for the ham.
Looks awesome. Really the only way I like ham is pretty much just like that.
I usually use my CI Grill Pan. Of Course then glazing it wouldn't work. Nice idea!
I don't like ham too often but I want to try this. Eat with potatoes. Or maybe waffles.
ohh potatoes sound good with this! I love ham but always have a hard time figuring out a side unless it's a big holiday meal.
LOOK'D GOOD!!!!!
Great video
not sure if you'll see my msg in time but tomrrow we r gonna follow your recipe. Question? I like my bacon extremely well done. should I pre cook my bacon first? or will it turn out really well done the way you did it? thnx
I should have said I was talking about your Boston baked beans recipe
If you want your bacon extremely well done, you should fry it first. :)
Yum!
What brand of meat thermometer do you use?
Just use Maple syrup
Now we are talking ... put a bone-in ham round in there.... make that pig squeal !
Now correct me of I am wrong and I could be. Isn't scraping a cast iron pan with a metal utencil a bad idea? School me if you must. I am here to learn.
Are the bones safe for dogs?
Unfortunately, no. www.rover.com/blog/can-dog-eat-ham-bones/
Raw bones = good
Cooked bones = bad
(For dogs)
Me bets that was a sweet meal...lol
135* and let rest.
Are you a thelemic who does chaos magick?
Yes, and what you see in these videos are the results.
I think he would be referred to as a Thelmite, if that was in fact what he is. I always think of Ian Malcom from Jurassic Park "Chaos Theory" when I see his necklace. Good video though and I will definitely have to make the gravy next time I cook this recipe.
I was with you until the flour and milk.
The gravy is garbage. But the ham steak looks good.
That grey gravy looks disgusting, you just ruined a perfectly good ham steak.
Want a be chef cooking a cured ham and telling me I need to cook to 145 What a joke
Why would I want a B chef? Actually, I did have a girlfriend who cooked like that several years ago.
