I just got a small question. I guess I’m a little slow when it comes to certain things like this. It looks like it would be great. I would love to have one, but you still have to keep your Internet on or can you do without your Internet or Wi-Fi with this.

The fact that extra usb drive can increase the storage to install apps is a great feature. I have Tivo and is restricted by space. So i will be interested in this device.

Is this faster than the $20 Onn box? I have one of those and it’s very laggy for me when navigating the screens and opening/closing apps. I’m overall disappointed it, but I guess I can’t complain for $20.

What internet speed do you pay for? I am wondering if it is possible to get 800 plus Mbps using a usb to gigabit Ethernet adapter. 16 Gb storage, gigabit Ethernet and a USB 3.0 port would make much more sense than the combination on this device.

Hey Triple M, just setup my Onn yesterday, installed KODI 21 and I was trying to get to a zip file on connected USB drive. For some reason. KODI didn't show any zip files(repositories) on USA, just directories. I used to be able to do it all the time on my NVidia. Do I have to do something in order to be able to get to a zip file on USA? I have been getting weak sound output through my home theater system on the Chromecast google TV, if I play netflix from the native LG TV apps the sound difference is massively better. Is Onn going to fix the sound issue?

Hey Triple M, Hope all is well, I got my 4k Pro today and after setting it up for some reason when I installed Adguard it won't open up, I installed all my other apps and they function ok, I've installed it on all my devices with no issues until now, any ideas

Hi, does this streaming box get really hot like the streaming sticks do? If so can you turn it off at night? I used to have a Roku streaming Stick and it would get really hot to the touch so I would unplug it when not in use because it concerned me. Also thanks for the video I'm trying to decide whether to buy one of these or not.

When I try to connect via Ethernet using the USB mine won’t connect. Is there something I need to do to fix that? When I plug the Ethernet wire directly into the Ethernet hole it works, but at that slower 10/100. What am I doing wrong?
Update: after being plugged in for a few minutes it connected. Doesn’t make sense why it took so long but it worked,….but slow.

I like mu 2023 onn. Is it worth to upgrade? On your test the Ethernet seems useless.
I would say no if you are happy with what you currently have. But if you are in the market, this a great device to have.

Great video brother I don't believe you mentioned the price but I can easily check on Walmart for my mom I set up the original one for 19.99 the ONN.
Besides running low on storage for 20 bucks completely amazing run the VPN runs streamio.. Plus Google Play store the stuff that she may need you know peacock and such.
I wouldn't touch the fire stick they lock it down, at least with Walmart ONN you could do whatever you want to the box!
The only issue I've personally seen for far is when I say hey Google while watching CZcams it gives me the answer but it doesn't let the video resume automatically after Google gives you the answer. You actually have to hit the back button or something. Very strange why it doesn't just resume after Google is done answering anything.

Ive been using the Onn 4K for a few months now , I Like it , Got like 20 3rd Party apps installed ( No Problem at All ) and I still have 5G of Storage left .. All the apps work Good like on the 4K Fire stick except for Y_Tube . I Like the Stop , 4-ward and Reverse buttons on the F/stick remote , Onn remote doesnt have that capability . So $ 50 vs's 19 $ to get More Storage , Remote Finder and a Few other features ,, IS Well Worth IT !!! I did like Troy Points video how to get it to the Set-up Menu's to Change Alot of features , like Scale size , Speed etc .. I also like that the Onn box will Power OFF in 15 minutes with No activity , adjustable in Settings .. Great VideO cool .. Ty 🤘

So I have all the othered on the benchmark and then some. But with the talk of Amazon stopping the side loading on the firedevices I might give it a go just for tv apps.

Good video. I noticed you did not make mention of the Blue button I’ve seen in other online videos of the remote, as well as no mention of the remote being backlit, which I thought this one is.
Which button, the Google voice assistant button? Also, no backlight on this one.
@@Triple_M It’s a big blue button that says “Free TV” or Free App” on the button. Middle of remote, can’t miss it. Yours obviously doesn’t have it. I’m surprised you haven’t seen it anywhere yet.
Mine came with the backlit remote and the big blue button. Some people get that remote and some get the one shown in this video. Seems pretty random. I noted the UPC code on the outside of my packaging is exactly the same as the one shown in this video, so you apparently can't tell without opening up the box.

Troypoint mentioned some don't have the backlight too. I'm surprised they released any at all, knowing most people would prefer the backlight. I guess they felt no pressure, because of the low price.
Do you have any opinion as to whether it's faster than Sony OS Google TV? I've got the a95k.
I am not sure, but the smart tvOS are usually laggy

I'm a new subscriber who enjoyed this review. I have the 1st Google Onn and was about to replace it with a Fire Stick 4K Max, because there are some things I don't like about it; like disabling my Flix Vision or not able to install other 3rd Party Apps, but it looks like they're more open to allowing this. I like quite a few new features that you displayed; so, I think I'll try the Pro. Thanks for sharing this info.

@@Triple_MI really like this one. It addressed the issues I had, like the storage space. Now I have no problem installing 3rd Party Apps and them not being disabled later. I still made the adjustment in security that Troypoint suggested. I have more than enough to watch between Google, Kodi and 3rd Party Apps-with 19 GB remaining. I also like how quick and smooth it moves through apps and functions. The wired connection has removed the buffering in Kodi Live. Troypoint said you only need a 25 download speed to run the Fire Stick; so, I guess the Ethernet connecting at a 100 speed is taking care of the buffering in Kodi. Although, I did have to go back and forth with connecting and disconnecting wired and wireless and connecting and disconnecting my VPN. I finally got it to work with good results being Ethernet connected with VPN. Enjoying the other added features too. Thanks again for your review, it stopped me from switching back to Fire Stick before trying this new version of Onn.
