- I tear off the top of a concrete porch (stoop) and replace it. All my videos are my ways and ideas, I always suggest anyone doing any type of work to consult professional help.

Another real-world video of a very likely project for any homeowner or landlord. This video is essentially a jam- packed class. Project goal, materials, techniques, analysis and alot of logic and philosophy (the whats and the whys) as usual. Another Mike Haduck University gem. Many thanks for sharing your tremendous knowledge Mike. Keep these gems coming.
Thanks Peter, I appreciate it, mike
Really enjoy your video. I have a question about the masonry concrete under the siding. Can that be coated with Portland cement to match new porch? Was thinking about doing this to mine.
Mike you make it look so easy! Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge, God bless!
Thanks Lou, mike
One of several reasons I love watching you is,,, it's so much better than watching me!
Thanks Bob, Mike
‘Comprender?’ Mike, you bilingual bad boy!
Hi Chilly, I know a few, lol, mike
Half a bubble = 3/4” over 4 feet. Thanks, Mike, that’s easy to remember and good to know. I’m sure it will come in handy in the future.
Thanks Bill Mike
Great video Mike. Lot of experience shows. I really like the cover up with Portland to normalize the look of the dried concrete so it would all match in color and texture. As my grandmother would say "It will never be noticed by a man on a galloping horse".
Thanks William, mike
LOL William. My grandmother would say, "Can't see it from the church."
An old timer who worked at the lumber yard told me about the "galloping horse" motto when I was agonizing over a piece of wood trim that wouldn't match.
These are truly "master classes".
Thanks, mike
Love your work Mike! Thanks for the upload
Thanks Vinny, mike

A great, long video on how to do masonry the right way. The customers that get Mike Haduck to do cement work are the lucky ones for sure. I’m thinking of moving to PA. Happy Easter to you and family, Mike. Be well.....Phil from Staten Island.
Thanks Phill ,happy Easter also
Mike, love your shows.
I said it once before and I’ll say it again now. You are an artist Mike, I appreciate you sharing how it’s done. The Bob Ross of concrete instead of painting. Your shows are inspiring. Thanks

We need to hear more about the birds fighting and messing up the swirls!
Hi Jim, yep it was real birds, I had a nice fancy swirl on the driveway, and two robbins landed and fought in the middle and I went back to fix it but it changed color and shape, lol, mike
@@MikeHaduck that’s what an act of God should be classified as! I’ve got a robin building a nest on my back deck now. They keep coming back every year. Guess they like me.
You help me a lot at work I’m a young chimney guy 😃
Thanks Justin, Mike
A craftsman always makes it look easy, Mike is well within his comfort zone. We can try that but may very well have one side harden before we mix and pour it all.
I’d try it but with regular concrete I’d have a much more forgiving timeframe. Nice video Mike.
Thanks Clint, yep I was pushing it a bit, I an always concerned how fast it would dry, thanks mike
I'll say it again,,U are a Man of many talents.Your work is exceptional and I've learned so much fro you.I also love your music and love all your songs,,My favorite is time to change.Plus u know about cars,,and u scubadive.U do it all and everything u do is just top knotch. You also have a way of teaching that is fun and interesting. Thanks Mike I've learned so much and Keep making your music it's GREAT

Thanks for the great informative video. I just patched in a fieldstone cellar over the weekend. Turned out great using the old school techniques from your videos. Thanks again, Jake
Great video Mike! You could have knocked me over with a feather when all that pipe was exposed! I find myself studying cracked walls and sidewalks and proclaim to my wife what happened, this from a guy who doesn't even own so much as a trowel! I am gonna try my hand at building your uncles bird bath this spring if it ever warms up here I have the wine covered but I'm stuck on getting a haircut🤣! Hello from Central New Hampshire!!!!
Thanks John, mike
Thanks Jake, I appreciate it, mike

Hi Mike, I enjoy watching your videos and glad I found your channel. I’ve always shied away from masonry work because I’m more of a framer. Now I look forward to tackling some projects! All while not making a big deal out of it. Thank you from MN
Thanks Luke, Mike
Thanks for the videos and the information. I patched up my garage the other day. Not too bad for a first go.
Thanks David, that's good, Mike
Great job mike. We never used felt but it looks good. We lay roofing shingles on the block wall. Even so we have still had some top rows of block crack. Man I hate when that happens!
Thanks Gibson, I hear you, if it was a bigger job I would probably used shingles, I am glad to hear that from you, thanks mike
He puts that stuff on everything !

Thanks Frank, Mike
Nice Video!
Thanks, Mike
Great work Mike! You have mentioned the swirls before. I was confused then and again now. I don't want to turn it into a project or get caught playing with it too much but I would like to understand what your talking about a bit more.
Hi James, a lot of contractors like to put in fancy swirls, like on a ceiling, I just keep it simple, thanks Mike
Mike would be a first ballot Masonry Hall of Famer !
Last year I hired a young big talking idiot to to replace crumbling fascia bricks below a similar porch pad. Halfway through the job I could see workmanship was seriously lacking. Older generation skilled people are much more quality driven.
Thanks Jeyboy, Mike
Thank you Mike. I learn something every time I watch your videos. Is it possible to pitch the form itself, from the the set up, so you can just skreed it out against the pre-pitched form?
Hi Mack, I had the forms pitched, but I still built it up near the door, concrete has a tendency to curl at the ends like a mud pie, thanks Mike
