We eat a lot of soups and bean dishes to help the meals extend further. We are still on a quest to get our sourdough starter going! I would LOVE to make our own bread! Our sourdough starter got moldy for some reason! A kind viewer sent us a couple of sourdough books and I think maybe the problem was with the water we used? Try lemon juice sometime instead of the vinegar I used to use apple cider vinegar all the time and started using lemon juice. I just buy the lemon juice in a bottle. It is wonderful. I like it even better than the apple cider vinegar and I also use avocado oil. I love your place. I can’t wait to see how it looks when you get your downstairs situated and decorated the way that you want it that is so ideal for your big family. Your Monday night soup looks absolutely delicious. Fantastic job with the pasta Naomi! You can always fix the salt issue by adding extra salt to the cooking water! My husband makes fresh pasta and sometimes he under salts...That pasta sheet looks like perfection.

Amazing dinners...Mark is professional chef...all his food looks incredible and this week Im making all of them especially that leek and cabbage and noodle soup....he is a marvel in the kitchen and has such a calm way about him....a beautiful sight....
Let Mark know to use the back side (flat edge) of the knife to scrape the cutting board. If you use the sharp side, you will dull the knife very quickly.

It's super easy to throw the skin and bones into an instapot - and slow cook it for 1 day - you get gold a.k.a bone broth with collagen - which you actually can not buy in the grocery store - anywhere. Anything called bone broth is almost always full of chemicals and not actually cooked long enough. I am NOT a mom of 11 - but still - freeze up the skins and bones and make bone broth - it's so nurturing and healthful

Here in New Mexico, we eat Frito Pies, made with Fritos, red or green Chile sauce made from Chile powder, pinto beans, shredded cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and onions. Look it up with Josiah, it’s extremely similar to what he was eating! ❤

When you mentioned Coco's that brought me back. In the 80's we had a restaurant by that name. I remember their salad dressing and the hot biscuits with honey. I googled it and learned that it was a chain that started in California, so it is probably the same restaurant. We had two here in the Kansas City area at the time, but they are no longer around. My brother is the executive director of the local historical society here and he was able to give me the low down on the restaurant clear down to the unique architectural design of their buildings. Like always the food looks yummy.

Have you added a Chow Mein to your recipe, it goes along way , ground beef , cabbage, carrots , rice etc.. There are alot of different recipes about , have a look at them.. a joy to watch ..🙏❤
You should look into buying the better than bouillon base, or even the powder bases as they take up less space in your cabinets

With the amount of broth you use and space storing it the better the bouillon would be a great alternative
I feed my sd starter with bottle water. And change the bottle very often. Any question about sd u can ask me Amber. I bake sd loaf almost weekly 😅

You guys should try the smitten kitchen no knead pizza dough. You just mix yeast/ water/ salt/ flour the night before/ morning of and then leave it till you need it. You can get a really good finish on pizzas by cooking the dough on the stovetop in a really hot pan then finishing under the grill. If you look at Pizza Pilgrims home cooking instructions it explains it well 😊

Tell Naomi that a pizza cutter works well to cut pasta if you don’t have a pasta cutter/machine.I think the Kitchenaide mixer has an attachment to make pasta as well.

I use tamale pizza dough in the bread maker. I never could tel the difference when I got it out and rolled out and baked. Easy, inexpensive, no kneading and letting rise. Does it all for you. Might be something to think about. I use to use my bread maker all the time. Made the house smell so good without the work. You can also take the dough out and make cinnamon rolls, etc it’s endless. I was always using it and didn’t have a big family, I’d give away things. Just a bag of flour and yeast. Goes a long way.
