@@avlinrbdig5715 He's norwegian - but you're correct. Faen/fan (Norwegian/Swedish) is basically the same word. I'd place it somewhere between "damn" and "fuck", in terms of profanity level. Damn would be Pokker, fuck would be Helvete. Faen/fan is a middle ground.

Number 92. - Eddie winning deadlift in WSM2017 by pulling 472kg is top1 on my list. Such weight after that many events. One thing I would add to the list would be 2017 Kieliszkowski's plane pull. He was a new guy, he had little muscle, little experience and won an event which favors heavy guys, even though he was the lightest. Mindblowing.

    • @haroldfarquad6886
      @haroldfarquad6886 Před 2 měsíci +1

Mariuz's 5 titles is unlikely to be broken. The last decade has seen the sport grow a lot, and there are many more 'professional' strongmen coming up through the ranks. It's like when Tiger Woods dominated golf and inspired an entire generation of fathers and sons to train from basically birth to become pro golfers. It's so hard to win a major in golf compared to when Tiger first stepped on the scene because of what his legacy inspired.
Strongman is so competitive now, and the margins between victory and 4th place are very thin. No chance anyone breaks that 20 point margin, and sustaining success at the highest level for 6 victories is going to be nearly impossible.

-Sam Belliveau circus dumbbell WR (beating the openweight WR as a middleweight)
-Mateusz Kieliszkowski frame carry WR from the 2022 Arnold
-Victoria Long easy 295 kg elephant bar deadlift WR
-Hafþór Björnsson weight over bar WR at the 2022 Rogue (even after slimming down)
-Inez Carrasquillo and Olga Liashchuk being the only two to finish the sandbag to shoulder medley at WSW 2022
-Asko Karu 482 kg stiff bar deadlift with only standard straps in training
    -Rhianon Lovelace axle deadlift WR
-Rob Kearney on the heavy super yoke in the 2019 WSM heats
-Adam Bishop on the axle deadlift for reps at Giants Live (matching Oleksii Novikov for first, but Adam didn’t use a suit)
-Rauno Heinla 580 kg silver dollar deadlift
-Seven 1,000 lb+ pulls at the 2021 World Deadlift Championships
-Andrea Thompson log press feats (WR for max weight and/or 125 kg American Oak for 5 reps)

Great list, some of my favorite moments in Strongman here, no doubt. ... And some of my least. Watching Glenn Ross cry in 2000 when he missed out of the final, and anything Stone Off related.
36 was the one I was waiting for; Pfisters prediction is by far one of my favorite moments as a fan, second only to when Phil started locking out those natural stones in 2006 and I totally knew he was actually going to make good on it.
That head to head between JF Caron and Jerry Pritchett. There is no quit in either one of those guys and that's still probably my favorite moment so far from the Shaw Classic.
Big Z and Mariusz were absolutely incredible in their day. Along with Brian and the consistency of Thor, they've got to be the best Strongmen ever.
You got to give it up to Mitch Hooper on all of his appearances on here too. Absolutely incredible athlete, and crazy determination.
    A few honorable mentions.
Berend Veneberg being the first guy to beat out a returning WSM Champion for his spot in WSM at Strongest Man in the Netherlands 1993. (Great competition too)
Jouko Ahola, like Magnus Ver Magnusson also won WSM in his first appearance in 1997.
How about Regin Vagadal in 1996? The most famous man in the Faroe Islands, winning his heat having never even seen at least most of the events in the Competition.
Lazlo Fekete making the 1999 final, 9 years after he last competed at Worlds in 1990. The gap between appearances beaten only by Travis Ortmayer. (2011-2021)
Also worth mentioning though everybody already knows it. Between 2009 - 2016 no one won WSM other than Zydrunas Savickas and Brian Shaw.
Lastly, "Stupid Event" 🤣 Got to Give it up to Loz for defeated a peak Thor Bjornsson in the 2016 Europe's Strongest Man.

I understand about the importance of safety, more standardized events, etc., and that's better for the athletes, the older events are so much cooler and more fun to watch. And, man. if events were still so varied and athletic Mariusz could've won 15 years in a row or something. Crazy

Great video. My favourite moment is #99, Zydrunas repping the 205kg log makes me giddy even to this day. The mogging is further increased by the fact that the ASC discontinued the 205kg log after his departure

I know Thor broke the record with 501, but there was something unreal about Eddie doing 500 the first time. That era of Eddie Hall was such a monster of determination.

Minute zero and I'm going to guess that Big Z makes at least 15 appearances. He's the best of ALL TIME people, easily.
