Stuff like this is the things that remind you the Developers cared. This was a job for them but it was also something special that they chiseled out with their own hands, they made what they wanted in the time and money they had. There was a bit of passion and remembrance at play here. I hope the remaster trilogy keeps each and every one of these. They meant a lot to the people who put them here and to the few who found them back in the 90's.
The Braveheartless one is amazing! I loved the unused costumes, I wonder which kind of levels would they have been used for. It seems to me at least a space themed level on a low gravity environment!
I loved how the developers would incorporate what they did. I bet they are certain methods only they would know and of course those lucky enough activated them by accident, totally surprising them!
This clearly makes this the greatest game ever for N64. Next to Ocarina lol
Great work! love the thumbnail btw. The hidden room one creeps me out a little since when I was at elementary school I had a friend that once told me he found a hidden "lava" stage by breaking the wall next to the bridge in the xmas channel. I always thought he was full of bs...Now I'm not so sure haha 😂
Thanks a lot ! I wasn't sure at first with the 'abstract' thumbnail, but it kinda makes every one unique so I might continue that way ! For the lava room.. I'm pretty sure people have extracted every texture in the game (that's how we found out about Lara Croft and the Abyssmal cube). At this point I would call it bs myself, but we never know !
Very well documented.
After watching your video, I analyzed the easter egg in The Abyssmal and after a few tests, I realized that the order doesn't matter (just like the order doesn't matter in Marsupial Madness). This cube is activated by a trigger similar to Braveheartless.
There are a few other secrets that were missed, but these ones from the videos are really the most interesting ones to be documented, indeed.
I will also start looking for the hidden trigger in The Abyssmal.

Can someone timestamp when Lara is on screen? I'm not seeing her.
At 09:08 when I pause the game, look on the top-right corner, you should see her with glasses and holding a gun. It's kinda hard to see, I should have put a red marker.
