Self defense needs to be a right with a wider definition. If your options are to attempt to run or comply then in some places they will charge the person for defending themselves. I see this is a clear case of self defense. The prosecutor however would claim she could attempt to run, or to comply and attempt escape later, so shooting the man wasn't justified. This reminds me of an explanation given by a police officer familiar with these situations for women. NEVER go with an attacker to where he wants to go. Saw the clip. Found the movie on my Prime Video. I enjoyed it. Katie Holmes does a great job playing a psycho in the film. It's a rather dark comedy...I recommend it.
