I was born in 1982 but grew up listening to them while Steve Perry was the lead singer. My dad was in a band. Music was always there. My mom and I toured with them because my mom didn't have a job. Steve Perry is truly " The Voice ".
The one and only Steve Perry and Journey. When you grew up with this kind of music, it leaves a life impact like no other music. Iconic

This band was famous for extremely long tours, one lasted for 15 months.
There were numerous divorces.
The lead singer tried bringing his girlfriend along in a Winnebago, but the rest of the band didn't like it. He developed serious health problems from all the touring and had to retire.
People still ask him when he is comin back to the band. He hates that. He'll be 75 in 2 weeks.

Theres something universal about this song. To look back at the love between the fans and Journey is just so true, genuine and sincere. It exemplifies the era and the timrs. The " lighter" lit in the darkness. The love expressed to the band when in unity we lit them. Its very sad to see these times and musicians leaving us. Nice reaction but let the solos and long notes ride, because that is when your " journey" begins and intercepts with past and present to positively effect your future.

Fun Fact - This video is from Journey's 1983 documentary called 'Frontiers And Beyond'. It's an insight of life on the road, not only for the band, but for the road crew as well. Frontiers is the name of the album, which the song is from.
