  • The NFL remembers the 1992 Los Angeles Riots on it's 30-year anniversary, which was one of the largest civil unrests in United States history. LA natives and leaders continue to expand the conversation on police/community relations, and reflect on society's efforts to rebuild and unify.

I was literally born 2 months after the riots and My mom and Older sister remember how horrible that day and the days that followed were. My mom and sister were living in Lynwood at the time Which isn't far from florence and Normandie the main ground zero of the riots. They went grocery shopping (they had no idea that the verdict found those officers not guilty and that a war was about to begin.) My mom says that she found out from the store manager who made the announcements That everyone needed to go home for their safety the Rodney King trail ended and those officers are not guilty. She knew things were gonna get ugly. She was right because It didn't take long for my mom and sister to see the rioters as soon as they (my mom and sister) existed the store they saw the rioters coming to them and my mom and sister dropped the items and got in the car. My mom knocked a few of them (rioters who got on top of my mom's car.) down. Scared but she wasn't gonna let anything happen to my older sister and me since I was still in her tummy. So I grew up hearing what happened and that's scary to know and see clips of this knowing it happened. And yes I'm thankful nothing bad happened to my mom and sister. And even now 31 years later they are still here ❤. I really hope we never have to deal with this ever again.
