Interesting to see Beau and Woody looking at each other for cues to help them in the hunt. Very smart
animals! They have both come a long ways. You have a couple of gems there along with Chewy.

Thank you Sue, yes Beau is pointing Voles, not great but he seems to enjoy it and Woody loves them.

My neighbor has a bunch of wild pigeons living in their garage 2 Hawks have been hunting them down for 2 months. It's crazy to see them hunt and eat live.

Lovely stuff Pete. I am wondering Pete what you call the difference between a good feed up and a ration to keep Woody at or near hunting weight using day old chicks as a gauge say.0

A good feed would be 3 chicks, at this temperature (mild but chilly nights) will certainly increase his weight so I’ll only do this if he is at the low end of his weight, very eager for food, flying weight I guess you could say, this is when I say a good feed up.
Also because he is keen he will follow on without encouragement leaving a good feed at the end.
Normally 2chicks will keep weight with a good hunt involving lots of flight, if he looks none responsive to the call, I’ll squeeze the yoke out and possibly the organs from one.
In very icy weather 3 chicks one day 4 the next, with a lot of flight during hunts, I may squeeze the organs out on 1 for adjustment.
After that pigeon in this video he eat, plus 2 chicks he put on over 1 ounce.
Hope that makes sense, I don’t keep him at the same weight he goes up and down within 1 to 1.5 ounces, and still hunts .
