    The mini fix in 6 arc is a sweet little package, especially now that it comes with a free can

    I just got a new 280AI rifle. I just bought a Leupold scope. A VX6 HD 4x24x52mm TMOA reticle.

    I never ever thought I would want a 2nd focal plane scope...until I got one. I put a 1-10 sfp lpvo on my bolt gun and I love it

    Thanks for the explanation of scope focal plane. Is there a best video you know of to explain how to choose a focal plane and reticle to what my purpose is? It would be helpful

    Did you save any weight on your overall weight swapping your barrel from the OEM to PR? I’ve got a fix in 6.5 creedmore and the specs say the carbon fiber 16” barrel weighs more than OEM

    Loo-pold not LeeA-pold or LEO-pold. There's no A or O in the name. My scope has a white line on the magnification ring at 7.5X that provides an option to using 15X for reticle-based adjustments (elevation or windage). As I understand it, at 7.5X the scale on the reticle is doubled (0.5 mil = 1 mil, etc.). CDS is true at all magnifications, but windage requires 15X or 7.5X. I can get on the target faster at 7.5X and I don't get scope bite.

    So did you convert the 300 black out mini fix into the 6 arc with the new barrel or did you convert a 8.6 mini fix to 6 arc?

      @praharin Před 2 měsíci

      8.6 isn’t a mini. I’m pretty sure that Fix started as a 6 ARC

    explain to me like im a moron (i am) what the pro/con is over the difference in singe or 2 focal plane?

    • @timothythompson6549
      @timothythompson6549 Před 2 měsíci +5

      Pro with 2fp for hunting is the reticle is always the same size, so if you're at low magnification you can easily see it. Con is the mill dots are correct on only one magnification setting.

      To piggyback off of Timothy, first focal plane is typically heavier. And the pro of the second focal plane reticle holdovers only being accurate at a certain magnification (typically the highest that the scope has) is that when you’re shooting far enough to use those holds, that means the shot is far enough to actually need to be zoomed all the way to highest magnification of the scope

      First high end scope I bought was a 2.5-10 FFP. In my opinion now it’s a total waste in that range. FFP is a must in scopes like 5-25 or 7-35. LPVO I can go SFP or FFP depending on reticle design, 10 or 12x top end I’d go SFP, 14-18x is gray area, and 25+ top end I’d go FFP every time
