    Her parents (1st Claire) pulled her from the show. As for the 1st aunt Viv, the actress was increasingly more difficult to work with; so she was replaced. John Amos (James on Good Times) was fired and his character killed off for the same reason, he was very difficult (by his own admission). Roger E. Mosely (T.C.) was fired from Magnum P.I. due to also being difficult and having a chip on his shoulder, then rehired. I'm guessing someone may have saved his job. Colorism indeed does exist (and should be exposed) but, that's not ALWAYS the reason someone is fired. Ijs.

  • @DetoxMyLifeWithTNichol

    The first Claire didn't have the chemistry of the second one. I never cared because they acknowledged in a way that showed that they weren't trying to put the wool over the audience face. They made a joke out of it that still is funny until this very day. The second Claire just was naturally a better actress.

    I did care I stopped watching because of it. I loved the dark skinned girl. She was funny and smart to me. You need to actually watch the 1st season. We definitely recognized it smh. Her character had wayyy more substance but she came back as this light skinned air head and you could tell she had no acting experience. The other girl had been doing it wayyy longer. She was actually Angela Bassett daughter in waiting to exhale. So these comments are obviously from ppl that didn't really watch the 1st season.

    Sidenote... remember when they replaced Carmen on George Lopez... tangentially related situations.

    • @JustPraiseHim09
      @JustPraiseHim09 Před 14 hodinami

      I think they just wrote off her character and brought in a niece character. I don’t think they kept the character and replaced the actress within the role. Also, Carmen as a character was very annoying; she didn’t grow at all. And the actress who played her was Albanian. Veronica (the niece character) was annoying at first but she had growth. And the actress who played her was Latina. So I actually think they made the right move with getting rid of Carmen and bringing in Veronica.

    They also switched out the Jakes in the State Farm commercials. The original Jake (Jake Stone) was a white actor and he got swapped for the black Jake (Kevin Miles) we know today. OG Jake was an actual employee of State Farm. The company wanted to get a real actor to take over the role once it became a national hit. Swapping out one actor for the other due to colorism or 86ing a character all together is nothing new. It happened on Happy Days with Richie's older brother Chuck. Somehow Laura Winslow lost a little sister named Judy Winslow on Family Matters. (The actress that portrays her now does porn.) It's Hollywood. They will always choose the prettier, thinner, well liked choice when it comes to making money.
