Second Claire had great chemistry and resemblance to the family. She was more emotional and funny. Dark skinned Claire was more bitchy and snobby. I didn't feel the chemistry with her and Michael Kyle. It felt so acted and forced. Second Claire's chemistry with Michael Kyle was generic and more real.

But her Tone and Attitude was terrible. The second Claire felt more like her brother and sister occasionally annoyed her but she still loved them. The first girl came off like she flat out hated her brother and always would ditch her lil sister for friends or a boy. She was just not likable at all.

The first claires parents where religious and her father was a pastor ... she was to young at the time to play a role where her friend was pregnant and the second season had a lot of sexual innuendos which her parents didn't approve ...they wanted a 14 year old. John Amos (James on Good Times) was fired and his character killed off for the same reason, he was very difficult (by his own admission). Roger E. Mosely (T.C.) was fired from Magnum P.I. due to also being difficult and having a chip on his shoulder, then rehired. I'm guessing someone may have saved his job. Colorism indeed does exist (and should be exposed) but, that's not ALWAYS the reason someone is fired. Ijs.

I did care I stopped watching because of it. I loved the dark skinned girl. She was funny and smart to me. You need to actually watch the 1st season. We definitely recognized it smh. I think they just wrote off her character and brought in a niece character. I don’t think they kept the character and replaced the actress within the role. Also, Carmen as a character was very annoying; she didn’t grow at all. And the actress who played her was Albanian. Veronica (the niece character) was annoying at first but she had growth. And the actress who played her was Latina. So I actually think they made the right move with getting rid of Carmen and bringing in Veronica.
They also switched out the Jakes in the State Farm commercials. The original Jake (Jake Stone) was a white actor and he got swapped for the black Jake (Kevin Miles) we know today. OG Jake was an actual employee of State Farm. The company wanted to get a real actor to take over the role once it became a national hit. Swapping out one actor for the other due to colorism or 86ing a character all together is nothing new. It happened on Happy Days with Richie's older brother Chuck. Somehow Laura Winslow lost a little sister named Judy Winslow on Family Matters. (The actress that portrays her now does porn.) It's Hollywood. They will always choose the prettier, thinner, well liked choice when it comes to making money.

I did care I stopped watching because of it. I loved the dark skinned girl. She was funny and smart to me. You need to actually watch the 1st season. We definitely recognized it smh. Her character had wayyy more substance but she came back as this light skinned air head and you could tell she had no acting experience. The other girl had been doing it wayyy longer. She was actually Angela Bassett daughter in waiting to exhale. So these comments are obviously from ppl that didn't really watch the 1st season.
Sidenote... remember when they replaced Carmen on George Lopez... tangentially related situations.
I think they just wrote off her character and brought in a niece character. I don’t think they kept the character and replaced the actress within the role. Also, Carmen as a character was very annoying; she didn’t grow at all. And the actress who played her was Albanian. Veronica (the niece character) was annoying at first but she had growth. And the actress who played her was Latina. So I actually think they made the right move with getting rid of Carmen and bringing in Veronica.

They also switched out the Jakes in the State Farm commercials. The original Jake (Jake Stone) was a white actor and he got swapped for the black Jake (Kevin Miles) we know today. OG Jake was an actual employee of State Farm. The company wanted to get a real actor to take over the role once it became a national hit. Swapping out one actor for the other due to colorism or 86ing a character all together is nothing new. It happened on Happy Days with Richie's older brother Chuck. Somehow Laura Winslow lost a little sister named Judy Winslow on Family Matters. (The actress that portrays her now does porn.) It's Hollywood. They will always choose the prettier, thinner, well liked choice when it comes to making money.
