  • pakistan village routine work starts with fodder cutting for cattle. While in winters Jaggery making routine starts with extracting of sugarcane juice with belna in villages of Punjab. Farmers crush sugarcane using traditional methods of bull-powered machine. The extracted juice is then boiled in large pan called Karra (large pan). Continuous stirring helps in evaporating water content. It gradually transforms into jaggery as the syrup thickens and poured into wooden tray to cool and solidify. Once set, the jaggery is ready to scouped out from tray in desired shape for consumption or local trade. This traditional process often involves the collective effort of the community showcasing the cultural significance of jaggery making in rural Pakistan.
