The sunnat you are talking is Humanity’s Ḥadiiṯ whether religious or non-religious, past or present, it's open to debate or problematic, however the Qurʼaan despite Humanity’s problematic writings / faulty copying processes so-called the Qiraa’aat (variant readings) of the Qur’aan, still the Qur’aan is unmatched because it is about the creation (Who? The Creator of all: Ar-Raḥmaan / Allaah < Al-Ilaah) / evolution (the matching self-contained processes of the formation from within of "Kun! Fa-Yakuunu = Be! Thus, he is" as Allaah is Non-Physical Infinite, for that creating Aadam with His two hands is linguistically selective representation of the dual alignment of the Creator and the selected created symbolism within the entire creation corresponding to Az-Zawj = the Pair / the Couple, initiated from Min Nafsin Waaḥidatin = from Single Self, and in turn from Ruuḥu-lQudusi or Ruuḥu-LLaahi) of the Humanity (central representation of all earthly and the spacial or the sky out of which is formed and in which the earth exists) as a singular (= Aadam in the Jannat) and as a plural in this Ad-Dunyaa = the Lower / the Nearer (Life), hence the Qur’aan being our path to the Nearer Life towards the Creator of all: Allaah, in the Aakhirat of the original Earth Jannat for Last (Final) Home as opposed to remaining in this earth of the Lower Hellish Life!
And that guide that is the Qur’aan through Rasuulu-LLaahi and Nabii’u-LLaahi Muḥammad ﷺ as Allaah’s Ḥadiiṯ, being about ourselves and how we should take Allaah’s Ḥadiiṯ as our guide = Sunnatu-LLaahi!
Simplicity = "Complexity within" as one = Duality!

you sholuld read the book of jihad by ibn nuhaas. he says things like this:
      Definition of Jihad:
      The linguistic meaning:
      • Lisan Alarab: Fighting the enemy. It involves using all effort in
      words and deeds.
      • Mujam matn al lughah: Jihad is commonly used to refer to waging
war for the sake of Al-haqq (the truth)
      In Islamic terminology it means:
Calling towards the true religion and fighting with one’s soul and wealth
against those who reject it. (Al Inayah Sharh al Hidayah (Hanafi))
Jihad is fighting. (Al Sheerazi in al Muhadhab (Shafi’i)
Jihad is a Muslim waging war agianst a non-Muslim who has no peace
agreement with Muslims and the fighting is for the sake of the word of
Allah to prevail. Jihad is also fighting the non-Muslim who attacks Muslim
territory and it is also the Muslims attacking the non-Muslims in their land.
(Mawahib al Jaleel fi Sharh Mukhtasar Khalil (Maliki))
Jihad is a cure for the individual and the society. It cures the individual by
delivering him from the sickness of disbelief to the wellbeing of Islam.
Disbelieving in Allah is the greatest disease of all and the most destructive
on all humanity, while Islam is the complete cure. Jihad cures the society
by eliminating the source of corruption and oppression. Leaving the
disbeliever unharmed increases the disease and strengthens it and allows
the cancer to spread. Therefore Islam cannot flourish and Muslims cannot
live in peace unless the disease is cured. If it is possible to cure the disease
by using a medicine then be it. Otherwise the infected portion must be
amputated even though the amputation could cause pain and suffering for
the body. But then no one could claim that the amputation cruel or
inhumane. It was necessary for the survival of the body. That is precisely
the role of Jihad in Islam. First the message should be conveyed through
peaceful means. If the peaceful course is exhausted and it did not bear its
fruits, the bearers of the truth would need to draw their swords and fight in
order for the word of Allah to prevail.

    Many people misunderstanding meaning
    Of Jihad,for example:
A father who earns a living for his children and wife at the risk of live or death is called"JIHAD".
A mother struggling to give birth to her baby at risk of life or death is called:"JIHAD" SO...

Although I was at first pleased to see the emergence of the New Atheists, I was not particularly impressed with their arguments. Their books were very important antidotes to the romantic notions held by people who had only encountered liberal varieties of religion.; but, they weren't very deep thinkers and did not get to the root causes of the atrocities for which religions have been responsible .
I had been frustrated by the dismissive attitudes of the left, progressives, and liberals toward the religious right in America, and hoped that the New Atheism would provide a much needed antidote to such misapprehensions, but was soon disappointed to realize that they had set their sights on Islam.
Some twenty years later, with the MAGA crowd standing a good chance of winning another American election, I am more convinced than ever that it is Christian fanatics, and not Muslim fanatics, who pose the biggest threat to the world today, although the Zionist fanatics are running a close second with their talk of eradicating the Amalekites.
Speaking of which, I wonder how the New Atheists are reacting to this pronouncements. They know who the Amalekites are because they routinely used that genocide as an example of God's evil in the Old Testament.

A lot A lot of people made a name and fortune for themselves, attacking Islam, unlike any religion on earth. Why is that?
The perspective that if there is an exception to a rule, it calls into question the validity or applicability of that rule in general, weirdly enough, is thrown out the window whenever it's about Islam teachings and regulations.
One shouldn't be sad about this reality, because it is actually helping, by the will of Allah, Islam reach people with hearts and souls ready and open to accept it. It is prophesied, and it is the proof that the only truth is the dean of Allah.

It's hard for me to even hear these arguments against Islam by Sam Harris (who continues to make money by bashing Islam, put into a position of influence for a reason, with media/Hollywood connections due to his Jewish mother who created tv series The Golden Girls) because I don't believe the official mainstream media accounts of certain events like Sept 11. But it is important for all Muslims to seek knowledge on topics from trusted Scholars and to not act based on one's own desires.

Now this is quite a complex subject and requires nuance. There's nothing black and white about it. This is the area of the Mujtahids i.e. people who are qualified in Islamic and other sciences and endowed with sagacity or have developed the ability to do Ijtihad i.e. independent reasoning and judgement. Not every Mufassir (exegete) or Islamic jurist or scholar is a Mujtahid. In fact it requires a council or a parliament of Mujtahids. The Fiqh of Jihad is different from the regular Fiqh which is mostly applicable during peace time. Remember, context is king. Even Islamic commandments, rulings and injunctions aren't exception to this rule. A lot of Fiqh develops as a result of circumstances. It's true that the punishment for theft is chopping off of the hands up to the wrist. But this rule gets suspended during tough times like famines etc. This is not a simple topic. Mujtahids are required to deal with such subject-matters. The laymen shouldn't begin to form opinions without deeper knowledge.

  • @2murie
    @2murie Před 4 měsíci +1

Very good presentation. Yet, many generalisations, lack legal-theoretical nuance. There is no consideration of necessity (ḍarūrah) and duress (ikrāh) in Islamic law. There is no consideration of necessity dictating permissibility, consideration of duress and collateral damage. Much of what was said is not as simple as the speaker may like to believe and also some scholars who permit an exception (rukhsah) to the norm ('azimah) under certain circumstances, such as dire necessity, harm principle, etc are not all foolish. This level of analysis is insufficient for such complex issues.

In 1930, Soviet Marxist theoretician Liutsian I. Klimovich, in his lecture “Did Muhammad Exist?”, argued the time gap between Muhammad’s alleged lifetime and the first written sources was so huge that we cannot suppose that any of the information given in these sources is authentic; that nothing is known for sure about the historical Muhammad, and that it is even likely that he never existed. Quite consequently, Klimovich assumed that the Koran was not Muhammad’s work but the product of a whole group of authors. Muhammad was created by later historians as a myth, designed to explain the emergence of the Islamic community out of the Hanif movement. The prophet was an invention to cover up early Islam’s character as a social protest movement.
In 2003, Walter Williams, in his The Historical Origin of Islam, asserted that Muhammad is the brainchild of Arabian scholar Ibn Arabi (1165-1240) who was the main individual involved in the morphing and mythologizing of the making of the prophet Muhammad; he also shows that the the Koran is a mixture of Jewish literature, put together by Jewish scholars to include the Torah and the New Testament Gospels.

What is the "combatant" status of (illegal) settlers given that their seizing of Palestinian homes is backed up by military violence? For example, if Mahmoud and Farieda were to put out the belongings and furniture of Bob and Susan from Brooklyn who had moved into their home, there is no doubt that the response of the IOF would be deadly. Similarly, settlements have been built on the soil for which Rachel Corrie was murdered. I would posit that settlers are combatants-by-proxy.

Why don't these eminent people realize that the cause of violence and terrorism is political and not religious.
The verses about Jihad were referring to the wars when Islam as a new Religion was under attack by those who attempted to stifle it and nip it in the bud so to speak.
In modern times Terrorist acts by Muslims were the result of a reaction against colonialism and exploitation.
Those weak freedom fighters and rebels needed some 'weapon' to help those oppose the ones with arms and money and political power... So they sought the help of the Creator , cherry picking verses from the Qur'an to enlist others to fight on their side. It must be said also that there is an Islamic duty for believers to stand up against exploitation and injustice. Palestine is a prime example.

So jehaid only only means in Arabic language is strive for some thing and struggle for something that is an original meaning of the word because you slosh have to strive and struggle to win a war in that context it is stated in the Quran. This dose not mean its is named to fight is jehaid. In fact real word in Arabic for killing is Qutal . Qutal is used for wars too .see in Arabic language in one word has several meanings used in different context as well as different scenarios. So in that respect we can't pinpoint one meaning for one thing only .it had several meanings .

that is the problem with interpretation, it is open to interpretation. he and harris/ibn laden reading the same texts and drawing the exact opposite conclusions reminds me of the dress some people saw as gold and white and others as black and blue. or if you google 'right brain, left brain test' you will see an image of a woman [warning, not sure if it a haram image or not. if i had to guess, haram. lol] spinning. some people see her spinning clockwise, others counterclockwise.
i like fareed, but it is always funny when muslims try that line. 'well you see things as the terrorist do' [implying you are a terrorist or at least have a terrorist mentality]. the point it the texts are clearly poorly written if two people can draw the exact opposite conclusion. if you don't want innocent women and children killed in warfare, you should condemn it WHENEVER it happens. not allow it one battle and chastise in after another. i will say this guy was at least honest enough to say you can't TARGET innocents, unlike most muslims who just say you can't kill innocents. so then the question is, does a suicide bomber necessarily TARGET innocents? and of course, who is innocent?

This is what you non muslims fail to understand.

The texts are in Classical Arabic. English translations are not the Quran. It’s easy to misinterpret if you don’t have a strong grasp of Classical Arabic (the Arabic of 1400 years ago) For this reason, scholars have discouraged laypersons from seeking legal answers from the Quran unguided as comprehension of the text requires expert interpretation and contextualization. In fact, most Muslim sects agree that verses of the Quran can only properly be understood when read in light of other Quranic verses and the Prophetic model, as well as the interpretations and legal implementations of the ulema (learned scholars)
In our religion Ijtihad (independent reasoning of the text) is for the ulema (learned scholars) not the layman. The folks you mention aren’t allowed to have an interpretative opinion, their opinion (regardless of what it is) is invalid. Those trained in Ijtihad can have legitimate differences or opinion.
This is why you’re not at war with nearly I/5th of the planet
[2 billion Muslims don’t do their own Ijtihad (interpretative reasoning)]
Both you and the religiously illiterate fanatical extremists approach the religion with the same mentality. This is why you share and promote their false radical interpretation.
We consider you no different than a person who reads a medical book, then thinks they can perform brain surgery. Nay, believes they’re qualified to teach brain surgery (&) refute the medical community.

anyway, can scholars through ijtihad forgo hadd punishments? a muslim once told me a qadi ruled a woman had been pregnant since before her husband left for jihad 14 months ago [maybe longer]. is that 'reasonable' to you? what do you think of the great islamic scholar [mentioned in the lecture] ibn taimayya saying the druze should be killed as apostates?
so if the koran is so dangerous when translated, why put out all these translations and distribute them?

Islamic scholars do not know such a thing as civilians. Rather, the term is a belligerent infidel (who has no covenant) and a covenant infidel

Admin you discussed religious wars. but cleverly you are ignoring the verse on war with Jizya tax which is mentioned in surah tawba verse 9:29. please explain the verse honestly from traditional famous tafsir. do not apply arguments like the mutazilites on the verses of the creator.

In the verse it says: fight them UNTIL..
It is simply saying how long should the fighting last. It does not say "go and attack". The Goraun already says: "fight those who fight you and do not transgress."
