cool to see happ has pretty much become the face of the new cubs
It be better if they give him an extension
They NEED that extension done yesterday
Well, until July at least when they trade him for more prospects. He won’t finish the season as a Cub
@@hollywood_8944 yeah I’d be surprised if he stays after the trade deadline
@@hollywood_8944😂
Eliminating the shift will make the game better. Love this change
Not a Cubs fan but this convo was awesome. Liked the Grace and Belli discussion a lot!
As a dodger fan it’s weird to see Cody as a cub but I’m really happy for him and I wish him the best ❤ hopefully no Belli bombs when he plays in LA again lmaooo
Same here
Yea same here I'm life long dodgers fan
I liked hearing Mark Grace talk about his time in the league. He had good questions for the young guys too.
I loved the discussion about the infield grass and how it plays a role from helping Bowa and Sandberg with “knee high grass” to a marsh for Lester. 😂
because Lester refused to field ground balls!! lol 😂 i mean, fantastic pitcher.. poor guy just had a case of the yips when it came to defense
I'd love to see Cody rake again.
Wish my Angels got Bellinger. Good luck next year to him and to you as well Happ!
Cards fan here. This was great content, would watch again.
Can see a bounceback season for Bellinger. I like what the Cubs are doing on buy low and bounce back players
he needs to lose the bong and get serious.... he lives in a dream world.
Define bounce back…
I thought so until I realized Illinois was a legal state too
I don’t think 17.5M is buying low, but I’m happy with the signing!
@@kurtisarndt3607 it’s one year so there’s no risk to it
Grace is endlessly enjoyable. I love that Happ tried to get him to do Screen Time.
Congrats 👏🎉 on Cubs Hall of Fame Mark Grace
Your welcome
Belli is fkn hilarious
Still weird to see Belli in a Cubs uni. Gonna miss him in Dodger blue
Belli looks good in a Cubs uni!
Nice to see Cody interviewed at the cubs convention
Dodger fan here but have a soft spot for Belli and the Cubs! Have a great and healthy season! Just not better than the boys also in blue to the west of you ;)
I live love podcasts like this
So good to actually see Tom
I've been listening to The Compound for like 2 years and have had no idea wtf they were talking about on "screen time."
Finally that confusion is over
Didn’t know the shift will help him from striking out
Go Cubs go ⚾
Gracey should get a Tony award for how he danced around Sammy Sosa's name.
Happ great job Happ
6:00 umm yeah.. he's not on the yankees anymore, he can finally relax a little
I'm a diehard Yankee fan but the no-golf clubs rule bothers me more than the facial hair policy. That'd be the thing that would stop me from playing for them.
What about how they massacred Harrison Bader
@@greetingsmars so sad to see
i am in no way a yankee hater, but at the end of the day it just seems silly to give grown men extra rules. let the guys grow a beard and enjoy a round of golf if they want to 🤷🏻♂️
Is there a few video of "Off the Mound"
Should have put Gracie in the headline. He and Mattingly were my favorite players growing up!!
Just me or does he sound like Kevin Costner?
Kinda looks like him more imo
Cubs going to be good
I’m thinking they’ll simply move the outfielder over to take the place of the infielder and dare the player to place the ball in the other corner.
Ah Gracie, always the drunk.. love that dude
Prizeman ads from space were the missing X factor for this podcast.
So basically happ said there’s no way bellinger is hitting 40 this year. Lol
nor should he. If he was smart and wants a long term contract he should aim to bat .280 with 20 homers and good defense.
@@Alan-rw3ez pfffttt lol ok…In what universe would a former mvp still in his prime set his sights on such a low bar? The good defense is automatic. If he wants the contract he was on a trajectory towards , he for sure wants to hit as many home runs as possible (that ain’t 20)
Dakota just seething watching this.
No shift will make everybody hit better
Boy was he right
offensively Ian Happ is Mark Grace.....
How didnt mark mention sammy? Like, i dont understand why hes so hated.
ask cody if he is gonna miss all the legal high grade weed? bet his game improves....
Weed is legal in Illinois
I don't get it, Bellinger was MVP with the shift, now were talking about how no shift will help him? He's just regressed so much, I'm rooting for Belli though.
.260 is way better than .220
His numbers regressed after the league cracked down on cheating and juiced balls🤔🤔 maybe that has something to do with it
Literally every ball in play I’ve seen from him was hit directly into the shift. He pulls everything.
@@RedRazorback15 I know he pulls everything, with that being said he did have success prior.
@@randycropsey6131 didn't even look at it that way, I mean he has become one of the worst hitters in baseball though lol
Imagine if he doesn’t bounce back. 3 years removed from good ball playing lol.
Bellinger cannot hit the ball to the left side if his life depended on it. He's a total pull hitter period. Every time he comes to the plate, the only one on the left side was the 3rd baseman, and he lined up at SS. Bellinger could not convince himself to lay down a bunt or even try to hit the other way. His problem is he chases outside pitches and tries to hit those pitches to right, instead of simply droppibg the bat and slapping it into a wide open left field. Cub fans are going to be so over him by the all-star break.
Sure the lack of a shift will help all these hitters that never knew how to hit the ball the opppsite way to beat a shift, so let’s eliminate shifts do they can get hits! Ridiculous!
Just here for more Gracie climate change takes.
What's with the moderator's posture and lazy delivery? Is he trying to put us to sleep?
