Lived in Sofia from 87 till late 92. Then visited in 2009 :) So many memories
About the monument: Aleko Konstantinov - founder of the organized tourist movement in Bulgaria. Looking towards the Vitosha mountain. :) In 1895 he organized a walk from the city centre to the top of the mountain. This is actually how the organized tourism in Sofia started.
i am from arab country and i like bulgaria becaus its near destant for my country and have a nice bulgarian histoy also nice caultuer and nice natute and warm weather and i see in this rebort sofia look modern city beter than befor l hop bulgaria be destination for arab tourest so i hop see invitation for arab people to visit bulgaria and give discounts in airo plans and hotels to encourage and motivate them for them to visit boulgaria always alsi i hop another cities get mor care as sofia and varna .. l hop good luck and nice chance in toursim and thank you for this nice report .

Just beautiful, so much better/cleaner than the USA. No trash strewn about on the streets and sidewalks. Also don't see any obese people like seen by the millions here.
Bulgaria is an emerging and still relatively under the radar destination. Very rich in history and culture, cheap and people speak English. Plovdiv is the oldest town in Europe. However, long way until we can be compared with the USA. Thanks for the kind words though :)

nice video, Janna is right, the municipalities should make flowerbeds everywhere in the core of the cities. It is a bad policy to cover everything with concrete and bumblebees and butterflies cannot find any food in the large urban area
And it can cost very little, we have an urban area planning website,ppl join and share all the flowers they have planned on the streets of the city streets,..maybe you should set up a fab page in you’re local area

I was just saying to my husband it looks just like Dublin,..I’ve always wanted a bit of land,I rent land in Ireland as it’s way two expensive to buy,it drives me mad as it is lost money,I may as well be flushing it down the loo ,then I seen small houses for sale some with 2000sqm that’s all I would need,houses almost liveable in,I’m no builder but I can try,..we are going at the end of January to rent a car and have a look, it’s crazy how property is so cheap..
Only people that are very sweet will attract bees. What is above the shops, residences or offices? Much busier than the last time we went down this street. And you're right. Juice is very good (if you put a little vodka in it).

Hi John! I live in Gibraltar now, but when I was in Bulgaria yes, it was very safe, Internet is good and food is good quality. You can collect some nuts, berries, mushrooms in the forests!
