I have been wanting to make a mandala afghan for a while now....great way to use up all those extra balls of yarn that just seem to multiply after every project. Of course, I will have to buy some yarn to tie it all together...great more yarn ;-). Thank you for this tutorial and such a gorgeous pattern. :-)

The explanation is very nice, but I have a question: Does the crochet needle size differ between the first round and the next rounds?
As I explained at the start of the video, certain rounds are recorded with a different yarn because those rounds I also used for Engima mandala. If you are making the blanket, you use the same yarn and hook throughout.
