Thanks for taking the time to watch.
jessethereader you were born in MISSOURI!!! Byeessesssssss
The booktube community has definitely helped me through a lot of rough times.
jessethereader I'm glad that you're happy now because of books
Yes same
yes SAME!
Dammit Jesse. I'm so sorry for everything you've been through, and I'm glad that you're feeling better. I hope the book-sun shines on you :D
Why do all the best you tubers have all the saddest stories?
ikkrrr
Bc they have a reason to be great!!! And keep going and be amazing
Yea!
Maybe that's how they become the best..
I actually think a lot of people have sad stories, only not all of them are youtubers, so of course when some great youtubers share theirs, it seems like they all have sad stories...
Oh, don't you worry, we'll always stay by you.
:)
+jessethereader two years later, we're still here.
thank you.
jessethereader yeah always and forever
Thank you so much for your sweet words. You are great.
Why would people bully you?!?!?!?!?! I would have given anything go be your friend lol. You are awesome, Jesse!
Thank you for watching. Your kind words mean a lot to me.
booktube changed him so much he's so outgoing now
Koko Chen yes agreed
I LOVE YOU JESSE!
You have no need to be insecure, you are a beautiful person, inside and out
That's how I got through my bullying too. I went to books. They took to me to somewhere else
swiftie1613 Me too, reading books is like having a whole other identity with characteristics that you wouldn’t think you would ever be able to have. It helps me escape to this other dimension and get rid of all the negativity in my life. I love it.
I was bullied to. I have an illness that affects a lot of different points in my life. I would get bullied for it, and people took it for something it wasn't, like a contagious Illness. I shut myself out from the world, and still am shut out from a lot of my friends. For example, I don't talk to one of my friends that I've known since the day I was born, when I really should (I'm 13). That was a lot of information about me.... Sorry! Books were my outlet and made me feel like less of an introvert.
Me too. I literally love books more than people
it's definitely a hard thing to go through, but that feeling once you know that person beat cancer. I swear, there is no other feeling like that.
I think the things I've been through have really opened my eyes and showed me that you can't waste your days being down, you have to keep your head up and hang in there. I still have my bad days, but I try my hardest to keep shining positivity.
Hardly. haha.
It's okay. We all go through hardships. I know people have been through worse than what I've been through.
My Dad got lung cancer, and my whole world changed too. He died a year and a half ago and it has proven to be the absolute worst. I too pushed people away, and I also still struggle with things I was put through when I was bullied. I'm glad your momma is doing well, and I'm glad to see you've made a good life for yourself so far :) Gives me some hope.
Even though I'm writing this years later, I just want to say that I'm sorry for your loss ❤️
I’m so sorry for your loss.
I'm happy. I'm living a very positive and uplifting life right now. It feels good.
She's doing so much better.
Thanks for being such a sweetheart! Your videos always help me to keep living a positive lifestyle and to keep smiling. Thanks for being such a great and uplifting friend!
I love you, holly! thanks for always being so sweet and watching and commenting on my video.
I actually love your videos. I think it's so awesome that you have such a awesome attitude throughout all of that (mentioned in your video). And thank you for inspiring me to become part of the book tube community!
I think so too & I agree. The things we go through shape us and make us who we are today. I'm pretty sure you're my long lost sister. I swear by it. haha.
We love you, Jesse.
Yeah, I figure people think of me as outgoing, but that's not the case. Thanks for the kind words.
Thanks so much. You're so sweet and supportive and I appreciate you!
She's doing a lot better. It's been a few years now since she beat it and she goes for check ups every few months. Thanks.
I may or may not have started crying during this video.
wow, that must have been so hard. sending positive thoughts your way.
Agreed. I doubt that I'd have any friends if it weren't for youtube. Thanks for the virtual hug. :)
It was a really sad time and it's hard for me to really open up about the way I felt during that time in my life. It was a really dark time for me and I hope I never have to relive it.
jessethereader your draw your life video make me cry. I am so sorry.
*hugs* she's doing much better now.
wow, you are so strong. I can't imagine losing my grandmother at such a young age.
I love you, Hope! Thank you for being wonderful.
i'd love to go to mexico and visit you guys someday!
How could I forget GOA?! haha. It definitely played a big part in my life. :)
of course. thanks for tuning in and watching.
I thought the plane was a turtle
Kendall Michaelson thought it was a whale
It makes me sad to how much I can relate, my books and my writing are what really help me cope.
I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. I know it's hard, but hang in there, things will get better. I still have days where I find myself crying, because I miss my grandma a lot. That sounds pathetic, but it's true. If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm a message away!
Thank you so much for all the nice words. You are so kind!
my mother is doing so much better. thank you.
a trip with my sisters class that I got to go on. :)
Thank YOU for watching. You're so sweet.
im so happy you're happy now!
Thank YOU for watching. :)
wow. so scary! i'm glad she's okay.
This video made me a little emotional. My grandma passed away when I was twelve, and I've also had to deal with cancer in my family, bullying and social anxiety. It's so great to see you're doing so much better now, means there's hope for all of us too! Thank you for making this wonderful video. I'd say it's encouraging rather than depressing, since you ended it on a positive note.
That's awesome! I loved Brazil. I hope I can go back someday soon.
I still get nervous thinking that they'll find it and make things worse for me, but I know if that happens that it'll be okay, because I know that people in this community will have my back and will be there for me.
Jesse you probably won’t see this, but you are seriously the most genuine, amazing CZcamsr, and definitely one of my favourites. I can’t believe anyone could possibly be mean to such a sweet lovely person. I love the bookish family!!

This almost made me cry. Thanks for being apart of our community, Jesse.
You are stronger than you know Jesse. Losing your grandma at such a young age, and having all those other problems at once had to be extremely difficult to bear. My grandma passed away this March and I'm 19. I cant imagine how it'd be if I lost her when I was at school and I had all these social and other problems myself.
Just remember that you have people around you who love you. Your family and friends. You are funny, full of positivity and loved by the Booktube community Jesse. :)
Thanks Rincey. That means a lot. :)
OH MY GOSH
THIS GOT ME FROM SMILING
TO TEARS
TO GIGANTIC SMILING
AND OH GOODNESS THE FREAKING MUSIC
they're just what i need to get by.
This actually made me tear up. I want to go hug every kid who is bullied or who is going through family problems (especially cancer since that is a little close to home for me) also I want to hug you. You're such a beautiful soul!
wow jesse im so sorry to hear about what happened to you! my mom had cancer too, and i know its really hard but you seem to have overcome it in such a beautiful way!
This is literally so real and just thank you for sharing
things are much better. thanks so much susie.
FEELS!!! We love you Jesse, and your attitude is inspiring!!!!
Just watched that video... It was beautiful. Brought some tears to my eyes but beautiful:') u seem like a great guy. We all have tough experiences, but we get through them. That's just life :) my grandpa died when I was young, but back
then emotions didn't come to me as easily as they do now. I still love him this moment , though. My dad had a minor brain tumor too, but it was removed and dealt with. He is now a happy man, deth* in one ear, but happy.

The entire time I was watching your video, all I wanted to do was give you a hug. It's been just over 6 weeks since I've been watching your videos but I really like you a lot and you're amazing and I might start a BookTube channel because you make me want to even though I am incredibly shy of the camera. You're really awesome and I hope I get to meet you one day :)

OMG, Jesse! You are such an amazing person and I am so glad you overcame all of those struggles.
I've been watching your videos for about 3 hours now, and I got to this one and I just love you! If you think about it you wouldn't be who you are today if you hadn't gone through those hardships and they have just made you stronger! I love your channel and you're such an inspiration. Truly, things will get better and that's something everyone can take from this video! Thank you :)
You're story is touching. I am so glad you shared it with your viewers. I work at a dementia and Alzheimer's nursing home and I know how hard an selfless you have to be to have someone close with it. You are a great person and always have people here on youtube that will be here for you.. :)
It's pretty amazing that you've shared these hardships of yours with so many people. It's pretty apparent that you're a resilient individual, seeing as how positive you seem to be about things. As for insecurities about bullying, I totally understand that. I was bullied in middle school, and as a high school student fairly close to graduating, I still feel some of the insecurities that come with that as well; and, like you, I turned to books as a source of escape and happiness. You're amazing for having pushed through so much and I absolutely love your channel.
omg I didn't know, I'm so sorry Jesse. I love you, and your booktube channel, and just, please never change.
Jesse we're always here for you and we'll forever be fans of your incredible videos and overall personality. It looks like you've been through a lot but you're strong and everyone can see that. Thank you for making such amazing videos and acknowledging your viewers.
You're a very brave person for just sharing what you've been through! I agree all you need are you family to help you deal with everything going. Im glad you dealt with the issues at school by just minding yourself and your family and discovered the world of books throughout out that all that. Now you have friends all over the world and you're loved for just being yourself by loads of ppl including me ily! Keep going forward and never look back!
Jesse, you always find a way to inspire others, and connect in so many ways, you are truly amazing!
Jesse, I recently came across you and your videos, and the booktube community in general, and I think that you are a hilarious person. Stay Strong because you will always have your viewers to help you though anything!
I think that it's so cool that books can help us through hard times. Thank you for sharing your story, Jesse!
You're truly an inspiration Jesse and you doing this video just shows how much stronger you are now, being able to share this with us. Whatever the future holds, you'll be fine and you'll always have us, your subscribers and friends. Keep doing great videos (:
I love how throughout all these bad experiences, you always found a way to stay strong and be as positive as you can. You look so happy in your videos now, I'm so glad I found your channel. You've been such a positive impact on me, thank you for all that you do! Will always love your videos
This may or may not have made me cry. You're an amazing person who has gone through so much. You inspire me:)
I can feel the tears coming by the way my nose is getting all tingly. Watching your video Jesse proves everyone has a story, and even though the ink pen my be full and bright it's not the ink, but what you do with it that matters.
I unfortunately have a similar story, except my hardship was during 7th grade (this is what I’m focusing on) October of 2015 my paternal grandma passed away, then April of 2016 my paternal grandpa passed away, and a couple months later my maternal grandma was diagnosed with dementia. We found out about a year ago though that she was diagnosed incorrectly and she actually has Alzheimer’s. To say it hasn’t been easy is an understatement, but I wanted to share so Jesse, and anyone else who can possibly relate isn’t alone
This is probably the only one of these that has made me tear up :'(
love your videos!!
i definitely hope to visit again in the future.
Jesse you are such a strong person and you deserve all the subscribers in the world!
YAY I'm glad you're happy now! SOOO Happy for you! Seriously! You're the first booktuber I subscribed onto! Thanks Jesse!
Oh my gosh, Jesse. I want to give you a huge hug right now.
Tears in my eyes. We're all so proud of you Jesse, you're so honest & we love you for who you are. Never change!
I know this was so long ago that you did this video but I’m so happy to hear that you guys were able to stick together (after some bumps) and that you’re mom is a survivor. So much love to you and your family ❤️
I'm new to your channel and I absolutely love the amount of effort you put into your videos. Life has been hard but you have my best wishes, Jesse. Keep up the good work! Borahaee💜
stay strong and i love u so much. always know that you are such an amazing person and we are all here for you.
It was really nice knowing more about your back story. I'm sorry that you went through such a hard time, but it made you a stronger person though! I'm glad your doing better now, though!
this was emotional, and beautiful all at once 🖤
this is old but gold man
I love draw your life videos and I think it takes a lot of bravery to make and post them. Your kindness and compassion is really apparent in your videos as well as the comments I see you making on other people's videos.
