Offering all original 13 campaigns and expansions as well as a completely reimagined campaign of the first 8 campaigns alongside it.     I believe the reason why the designers of the revamped game changed the mission to have the Emperor still aboard his Star Destroyer is because if I remember correctly the escort shuttle that the Emperor is held hostage in has to be boarded to rescue him and it looked ridiculous in the game for some ship to stand on top of the top wing of the escort shuttle to "board" and "rescue" him - it left a lot up to imagination. So the designers of this version of the mission realized it looked ridiculous so they decided to have him trapped in his disabled Star Destroyer instead, a good call in making the mission more realistic.

      It also didn't really make much sense that some Stormtroopers managed to capture him and haul him bodily into a shuttle... makes more sense that the ship he's on has gotten disabled.
      It definitely makes for a more interesting mission.

    High detail models, the new style of lighting and rendering for incredible detail and render speeds, filmic filters over everything so it seems like we are in the original movies and not in a cartoon, film authentic audio filters on the voice overs to provide that extra immersion. There are many things we can improve still. I like it. Continue.

    I will be making a video soon where I will talk exclusively about Reimagined 9-13. Up until this point I've only given some brief updates about its progress and some throwaway comments on my Let's Play and sneak peaks in Discord of work I've been doing. But 9-13 will see very significant changes and deviations from its Classic counterpart so stay tuned :)

      The original B9-13 were atrocious... not so much the story, maybe, but definitely the execution... So I'm very much looking forward to a change ; )
      I've been loving your let's play series, btw! It's been hell waiting with watching every episode till I'd recorded my own.

    When I played the original I didn't completely disable the emperor's shuttle. Instead I used it as bait to keep the Glory from going into hyperspace, bombed and shot up the Glory, disabled it, and then gave it to the bombers as a gift while I finally disabled the shuttle. Afterwards he was rescued by a corvette and my moment of near gross treason ended with the Glory blowing up in my back window.

    So, a few remarks about what you had to say at the end of the video and the last video about the scenario change from the Emperor being captured vs being trapped on his disabled craft. The email from Vader was a reference to the beginning of episode 3, where Palpatine was captured by the separatists. He let himself be captured. Partly to continue his attempts to turn Anakin, but also to further weaken the Jedi. Now, when TIE fighter was originally released. George had just started working on the prequels, so that bit of information wasn't out there, but every bit of Legends and George(G)canon lore had Palpatine hiding his force abilities from everyone. That's what he kept Vader around for. Of course, none of this is Canon now, so sayeth the Mouse. It makes sense that he'd let himself get in that situation, if nothing more than to cull out the rot.

    Great game. I finished it in the late 1990s. The CD Version already had the voice inflight - this made the big difference to X-Wing. Generally I find it impressive how different and how much better TIE-Fighter became compared to X-Wing.

    Technically the SSD does have a hangar in the large ventral bay., kinda hard to spot due to the overall size. I'm currently working on an actual launch hangar model that could be used in future missions. :)

      Ooooh, right... the underside would have the fighter hangars, wouldn't it.
      Also that's AWESOME! Just one small question: "Outside the hangar... is it like looking at an up-side-down city in space?"

    because battle 7 is shorter angel has said that he is going to make future battles longer to account for battle 7 being shorter so battle 12 will have 9 missions 2 more than classic battle 12

      not really necessary... if you count the 4 "extra" training missions in the beginning then TFTC and TIE Classic comes out at the same amount of missions (up to and including Battle 8).
      That said, more of a good thing is awesome ; )

    General question about the game: can you set invincibility and unlimited ammo like in the original?

      Yes. Mark "Tour Invulnerable" or "Tour Unlimited Ammo" as 'yes' in the general options area.
      Also, and I'm not sure if these still works, but in the original XWA you could type in IAMACHEATER to activate cheat mode.
      then type:
      EWOKSRULE - Invulnerable
      MASTERYODA - Unlimited ammo
      THETASTEOFVICTORY - Win level
      KILLMENOW - Lose level
      HYPERMETO## - Warp to the level of your choice (example: HYPERMETO10 for the first Alliance mission).

    Hey, new player from Star Wars Squadrons here. I've downloaded the Xwing Alliance Upgrade mod and was wondering what an ideal control setup looks like in this game. It's a bit daunting trying to play with the controls at this stage. I do yearn for a controller-only setup, as immersive as it is to reach for my keyboard like it's dashboard controls! XD

      I can only tell you what I'm using for my Logitech/Saitek x52 Pro.
      anything I use a lot will be on the joystick:
      Hat 1 up/down/left/right: W weapons/S shield balance/Y prev target/T next target
      Hat 2: F9 weapon energy, F10 shield energy, Shft-F9 shield-to-weapons, Shft-F10 weapons-to-shields.
      second button: X link weapons
      A button: E ships targeting you
      B button: C Countermeasure
      C button: target reticule.
      pinky button: R nearest target
      I only have important things on the hat on the throttle...
      Hat: N next navpoint / F5 saved target 1 / O Target Objective / A target's attacker.
      the buttons I have for things like L (View follow target), Spacebar (accept (for when docking, quitting mission, or accepting reinforcements)), F8 (beam weapon settings) & B (Beam weapon)
      (those last two aren't necessary for XWAU, only TFTC.
      Anything else, you don't really need at your fingertips when fighting.

      if I may be so bold as to give a suggestion?
      Don't go for an Logitech/Saitek X52. I've had little more than problems with mine.
      Go for a Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS HOTAS instead. It might seem more plastic-feeling... but it has way better button-layouts, especially for the throttle... and it's cheaper.
      or if money is burning a hole in your pocket, go for one of the Virpil Controls sticks and/or throttles.

    Nice video! Is it possible to choose if starting the mission from the hangar floor or hangar ceiling in the Star Destroyers? In my install always start hanging from the ceiling. Thanks and regards!

      I think it depends on what capital ship you're launching from... so it depends on what mission you're playing.
