I absolutely love your back yard and your dogs. I'm a dog person too.I'm a musician also and have been since the days of my school band and I'm 68 years old. Love you bass playing.
Your property reflects your sense of art much the same way your music does. The very traits that your music has, your yard has. Color, movement, excitement, beauty, serenity, passion, hard work. I see it all in your yard, as I hear it in your music. Thank you for the guided tour.
You'll never need professional therapy... your yard provides that. My wife and I also have been in the same house we bought in 1976. Thanks for the tour, Lee. It's beautiful and comfortable.
I spent yesterday in my backyard in the sunshine ☀️, doing some early spring cleaning, and some bird watching while reading the book of Hebrews in God’s Word. It was so Peaceful 🕊 You have a lovely backyard. ❤️
I have watched every minute of every video, and being a bassist it’s been a privilege to watch closer how you play. With that said, this might be my favorite so far, a peek at your corner of the planet is a pure joy to the day, thank you for sharing.
My Yard is My Sanctuary.Every morning I get to get out of my studio and play with my lawn, and plants. It is as you know very satisfying !! Beautiful Garden Lee :)
Yard doesn’t really do the beauty of it justice to British ears until we see the amazing gardens! Birds providing a nice background musical accompaniment.
I think I'm starting to understand Larry a little more after seeing this. He drives me CRAZY about the details of our yard. I guess it's a musician thing about being a perfectionist. LOL Thank you Leland and God Bless your Wife!! LOL
Thanks for the tour of your oasis of love and life! I love your dogs Lee. We are grieving the loss of both of our dogs Jazz and Journey to old age last month. It's good to see you and your dogs happy and well. Thanks for the music too. Blessings to you and your family...
@@lelandsklar6363 Oh...I'm so sorry about the loss of Mr. Peabody and Chumley. They are all so precious and unique and when they leave they take a large part of our heart with them. I know our beloved pets are pure spirit and their spirit does survive bodily death so we will see them again. Knowing that gives us comfort that, "They are not gone forever, they are just away."` ~kk~ Hug your pups for us Lee. Take care dear...
I worked all over Manhattan for 30 years and many a day never even got a chance to get out of a building for a bite to eat. At 60 I'm outta there and love every minute I get in my backyard. Just to hear the birds sing is a joy of life.
Thank you so much for inviting everyone into your beautiful yard. What a quirky, tranquil & welcoming environment you have created.....reflective of its owner. You make everything so interesting; a born storyteller. A wonderful musician, raconteur and human being. I have gained so much from watching your videos. Thank you. xx
Beautiful. Having been laid off has also given me a lot of time to spend in the yard. Has also been my mental haven. Being a therapist and musician it provides the perfect setting for mindfulness and musical activities for the family and the neighbors.
Man, what a paradise! Not only an exquisite bassist but an Olympian green thumb too. Stunning, Lee. You have a beautiful home, Lee - so deserved - and its lucky to have you as its caretaker!
Echoing what others have said, gorgeous yard. Perfect place to hang out during lockdown. Overall, it's better that the dogs drink from the fountains instead of a toilet bowl, lol.
Oh, Leland, I finally see your yard. What a paradise!! I love the way you care so much about it!! So many beautiful areas, and all the colors, it’s absolutely dreamy! Yes, you need one of my Plumeria trees!!!
Thanks for the beautiful garden walkabout! It was great to see another side of you.....wonderful. As another gardener/musician, I was blown away by your 'project.' Such an incredible place to live and work, and so well-deserved. Thanks again.
All I wanna do when I wake up in the morning is see your eyes, Rosanno. I really envy you to have an orange tree in the middle of a garden, here (Austria) this isn‘t possible. It‘s really a beautiful garden.
I lived in Florida, and I had a neighbor with a garden full of camellias and gardenias upon which he lavished the same kind of attention Lee does on his lawn.... As long as I didn't touch his plants, I was allowed to enjoy his garden, and I did. (He didn't have any Fiberglas or concrete livestock, however....)
First and foremost Lee, You have really made my day, as I thought I was the only eejit that cuts around with a pair of scissors! Hahaha In my humble opinion, nothing does a better job. Your lawn is beautiful. I love the boy's water feature drinking bowls. Our two boys have a large fresh water container to drink from, but they insist on drinking the water from the pond, which I'm just waiting for one of them to fall in, especially Gordon the Lhasa Apso. He outstretches that much, that he's literally balancing himself on his paw nails to reach the water. I'm surprised he hasn't fallen in a long time ago!! Your oranges look wonderful. Thank you so much for giving us a tour around your stunning garden. My very best to you and Maureen, and the boys, and I hope you are all safe and well. Blessings from Ireland
With a yard like that I could easily forget everything that's going on right now and the rest of the world outside. Just a perfect spot, Lee. You should do a house concert when things settle down. You know you want to! Thanks for sharing.
I've driven past your place on a few occasions and always wondered what the grounds looked like with all your immaculate attention and now we see! Your fastidious nature permeates all you set your hand to and the results are excellent! My wife is cut from the same cloth and our back yard here in Sacramento is a much smaller version of yours, with many elements in common. Thank you for this wonderful view!
Yard work is somehow very relaxing and peaceful. I have two doxies that provide ample entertainment. And the squirrels add to that too. Im 65+ now, so I do really enjoy that time in the yard.
Hi Lee, Thanks for sharing your beautiful stories, perfect bass lines and now also your beautiful garden. Like many I'm looking out for your daily posts and it only gets better every day! Please do come over for a cup a coffee next time: You've got friends also in the Netherlands 😉 Love ya man! 😎
Thanks Lee. Lovely to get see your garden. I enjoy the irony between your rock/grass grooming and your well-kept, but certainly growing-right-to-the- edges beard!
Leland- You’ve made a beautiful oasis in your backyard ! That is exactly the yard I want except with a pool. Beautiful. Well done sir. I’ll bring the cheese and baguette.........thanks for posting !
I just found this gem. Wow. What a garden! You are quite the green thumb. Very meticulous care of each and everything that grows here. And those dogs!!!!
That is a full time job taking care of all that foliage... Plants are such a zen activity, tactile and so rewarding when they flourish. Amazing yard, thank you for sharing.
I am a huge fan of yours but this backyard that is your Oasis makes me even more of a fan. You are so humble and your backyard really shows how down to Earth you are. Your yard should be is many magazines!!! Stunning.
The yard is absolutely gorgeous! I had a basset hound once and she “followed her nose” everywhere. We were constantly tracking her down. Amazing work. I love the orange tree. “Just another day in paradise”.
What a labor of love! How beautiful! Bravo!!! I wish I had a bit bigger a backyard for my 2 dogs to be able to run around like that... but they are content just the same and this video has inspired me to make my backyard as nice as possible! I have always wanted to have a weekly musical neighborhood evening, where we would gather just to sing and play together (Covid-19 permitting) and if I manage to improve the yard maybe that’s where it could happen!
Lovely place Lee. I can see why you spend so much time in your happy place.

OMG.....Persimmon, fig and orange trees? Spectacular flowers and an explosion of incredible colours. This reminds me very much of where my family is from in Italy. Of course, Marcello and Rossano are like two little Rembrandts and finish off this masterpiece. Congratulations and thanks for sharing. This was most enjoyable. Cheers from Ottawa Canada 🇨🇦
Ahh! You are the only other person I’ve heard say they edge/trim the grass with scissors! I do, too and also have used a serrated bread knife... many blisters result but the grass is so thick that an edger never defines the line enough. What amazing gardens and lawn you have. All the hours of your care and work is evident. Everything was so prolific here as well. I attributed it to the lack of human interference for several months, cleaner air, less noise, more insects/pollinators etc. Thank you for sharing your beautiful yard. I love wildlife, too and am lucky to have an abundance even in my in-town location. I love the beautiful boys, too! I have four and one girl- not Bassetts though. Maybe one day! They are so soulful and funny!
Nice little house and estate. I can't imagine the wonderful conversations that have taken place on those patios. Such a very pleasant environment. I have some friends who will love this horticultural adventure. Thank you.
Lovely! What a beautiful space to be lockdowned in. Your bougainvilleas - wow. At least with the cows in the yard, you're ok for manure then? Thanks for sharing this, Lee.
What a beautiful sanctuary to enjoy when you are home. Just watching this video allowed me to calm down and center. I really like the personality you gave the yard. All the way down to the pink flamingos. Also, that hammock looks amazing so be sure to just enjoy it sometimes. Thank you for taking us on a journey through something other than music that really sings to you.
Thank you Lee for your videos, your insightful commentary, and for bringing us into your world. I look forward to every video you post. You're humanity really shows through, not only from your incredible music, but through your approach to life. Thank you for being here.
Thank you Leland for sharing your private space...really interesting and a beautiful well kept space with lovely interest everywhere...I cracked up at the " gotta have some livestock" the zaney tasteful garden, thanks man...those safety men do a great job on the lawn!!!
I come here for the legendary bassist, but Lee is such a warm, welcoming presence, I end up loving these non-musical videos just as much.
I'm just the opposite I don't even play the bass and I still come here every day
Right? Lee is such an old friend, even if you've never met him....
I absolutely love your back yard and your dogs. I'm a dog person too.I'm a musician also and have been since the days of my school band and I'm 68 years old. Love you bass playing.
I live your car and trailer coolers ! 💛💛💛💛💛
Beautiful Lee! Giving me some ideas for my backyard :)
heck yeah you're down there in that big A. got to get you some peach trees growing Rick..😋😋
Nicely controlled fig tree, done some 'pruning' on one of those a while back.. 🌿💖

Thank you for sharing this wonderful space. Love your Knuckleheads. They are adorable treasures. Love dogs.
Sheesh, Mr. Sklar, I feel more at ease with life simply having watched this vid. Thank you!
What a sanctuary! Love how magical you have made it!
You'll never need professional therapy... your yard provides that.
My wife and I also have been in the same house we bought in 1976.
Thanks for the tour, Lee. It's beautiful and comfortable.
What a beautiful backyard. I'd never leave home.

This dog sculptures are CUTE!!! I love them. :). Great backyard sir.
Absolutely love the cow statue :) Your yard is other worldly. Amazing colours and very well kept. Kudos!
Now that we know how your yard looks like it’s kind of miraculous that you still get your daily videopost done☺️
This is such a 10 minute lil "cup o' tea -stretcher- zen" experience. Highly (throat clear) recommended. Thanks for calming me down today, Lee. Peace.
My Yard is My Sanctuary.Every morning I get to get out of my studio and play with my lawn, and plants. It is as you know very satisfying !! Beautiful Garden Lee :)
Wow, what a beautiful space!! Thanks so much for sharing, I have a whole new appreciation for “yard work”😊
Don’t be surprised if my wife shows up at your front door with her suit case...😂
Her absolute favorite type of garden/ backyard.
Well done!!
Yard doesn’t really do the beauty of it justice to British ears until we see the amazing gardens! Birds providing a nice background musical accompaniment.
Wow! Amazing yard. It looks like a great place to chill and be with your thoughts and/or with good people. Thank you for having us over.

Looks so tranquil no wonder you lived there 40 years a great place to rest the mind I'm sure
Beautful, Leland. Our yard is our sanctuary, the best therapy.
When I grow up, I wanna be one of Leland Skalr's Basset hounds. That garden is unreal. Well done.

What a lovely human being...if we were all like Lee, what a wonderful world it would be... and imagine the lovely gardens!!

Absolutely beautiful you live in a garden of eden.
How nice - thanks for sharing Leland👌🏻
I think my blood pressure went down watching this. Such an extraordinary labor of love! Really beautiful, and Marcello and Rosanno are abfab 💖
Oh, Leland, I finally see your yard. What a paradise!! I love the way you care so much about it!!
So many beautiful areas, and all the colors, it’s absolutely dreamy!
Yes, you need one of my Plumeria trees!!!
It must be very cozy to look at this garden on a rainy day in the afternoon or on a cold night with lightning and thunder.
Not much thunder and lightning in LA, although there is occasional fire and rain, and sunny days that I thought would never end.
This whole Covid mess is insane but I love getting to know these musicians I’ve admired since I was a kid a little bit better. Thank you!
Thanks for the beautiful garden walkabout! It was great to see another side of you.....wonderful. As another gardener/musician, I was blown away by your 'project.' Such an incredible place to live and work, and so well-deserved. Thanks again.

True inspiration! Love getting outdoors myself and utilizing my green thumbs!
Paradise. Well done and well deserved. I can relate in that my humble yard has absoluitely saved me for the past several years.
Was totally looking forward to this. It's everything I hoped it would be.
Woooow. That's really soothing, idyllic, peaceful, lush and cozy! And it looks like a TON of work, too...
