    How often should you change the transmission fluid?

    Very good video. Question: how do you get the air out when you fill the oil into transfer case by using rubber cap? I am assume the air has no way to get out if the upper fill screw is not open. So the air pressure will add up to forbid the oil in. Any idea? Thanks

      The hose is loosely fitted (allows air to escape) but the black fitting is on there tight.

    Is messing with that parking lever necessary? I read in the Zf manual something about securing the lever with zip ties and such, but that lever never came into play for me...

      Did you cycle through the gears before attempting to top up the oil?

    Where did you get the rubber piece you used on the transfer case drain hole?

      Local hardware store. It was part of a kit of different sizes. Look for rubber pipe caps or rubber end caps. Then once you find the size that you need, just drill a hole in it so that you can fit the hose through it. Hope this helps

    Did you replace the mechatronics unit, or did you just remove it to get extra fluid out?

    • @CarInspected
      @CarInspected  Před rokem

      We ended up removing the mach unit to replace the seals/sleeves and get any excess fluid out.

    What is the update on your transmission? Did it last after the fluid change at 120k?

    • @CarInspected
      @CarInspected  Před rokem

      It kept going for about 30k miles and then started to slip. We have another video of the same car having the transmission replaced... its also in our channel

    2013 535i would this work?

    • @CarInspected

      Highly unlikely that it would work on the next generation (f10) cars.

    Hey mate,
    I have 2017 G31 530d and recently I've being noticing some sort of hesitation while changing gears and holding RPM, also jerky sometime.
    Is that a sign to change the ZF8 oil?

      What's the mileage on your g31

    • @tsystems2882
      @tsystems2882 Před 2 lety

      About 11300km, mostly driving in the city.

      Try to have the dealer reset the transmission adaptations before doing any further Diagnostics... it could be as simple as an adaptation reset.
