Dimash is well- trained in music but Marcelito is gifted and self taught. I applaud Marcelito the most.
And on top of everything else, he's doing all this while sitting down. Crazy!
Explanation: how he knows how to juggle the two voices, his normal is like drinking a coffee for him given his life lol...., and his simple when you know the music like me for 40 years he does the head voice and the chest voice that he masters perfectly without forcing, plus he can do it sitting down because its even louder lol. .., people who know will understand, and also because he has lived on the street since he was 7 years old, abandoned by his family because it often happens there when you are very poor lol... then after 20 years in the street singing this song every day with one or both voices, this woman spotted it and even became his wife that we see in his TV presentation, and she passes it on to Filipino got talent that he has win and then american's got talent which of course he won morally because he is only 2nd but cool public prize... and

Can't tell you how many reactors have listened to Marcelito's version of this song and were overwhelmed with emotion, tears and chills. You can definitely feel the emotion when he sings.

2 different voices (female, male), 2 different style (pop, classical), 2 different languages (english, Italian, neither of which he spoke very well at the time of this video), and as has been mentioned he is sitting down (you can see him grab the table occassionally for some support), and he still produces this!!! He is amazing.

I loved your reaction. Yes Marcelito grew up on the streets from 7 until adulthood, he was persuaded to enter Philippines got Talent and won. He is well known for doing a duet on his own. He spends a lot of time and money giving back to people now less fortunate than himself, he is very kind and humble. Check out him singing Hallelujah Pentotonix version. He is able to sing in languages he doesn't speak, Italian French Spanish Chinese and his English isn't fluent, but he listens and is able to copy the songs. He is very talented. Two things to remember. He is sitting down which automatically depletes your diaphragm 30%. He can imitate and mimic any sound he hears,any language or any sound from nature…

I've noticed operatic singers are taught to sing from their lower torso (their tummy) to project better. But Marcelito sings from his chest in order to control projection and from his throat in order to control pitch. Genious!!

Incredible, I saw him on America's got talent. It amazes me how people like him and Dimash can switch back and forth with no effort. Music and talent are evolving into unique culture. What's even better is that it's bringing different genres to listen to other styles. If we don't watch it, we're going to find the world changing and getting along. BTW, the Wishbus is a FM Station on a Real Bus roaming around the City for the Fans to see their Fave Artists perform LIVE, no Autotune or any Pitch Correction Plug-ins, just a little Reverb and Echo to enhance the voice. Fans are around the Bus and Camera Men are infront of the Singer, that's the reason why you noticed Marcelito's eyes sometimes glanced at them. Tnx again.

I just love Marcelito Pomoy - I saw him on tour this year in the U.S. I absolutely loved the meet and greet so much. He loves mixing and talking with his audience! He is quite a comedian and that adds to his chemistry with his audience. He kept us laughing and singing out of this world songs.

I agree with your argument 100% on point! There are basic guidelines in singing but they should not be forced to become something that they're not. People are different and they have their own style, strength, technique, and lifestyle which contributes to who they will become as a singer.

Marcelito is a bit of heavens light sent to bring joy into our hum-drum lives. I tear up every time I hear him sing. English and Italian are not his native languages but, he does them to perfection. I speak Italian at home and Marcelito's pronunciation and accent are better than some of my relatives. Shhh, don't tell them I said that, LOL!!!

Love your Reaction you guys and you're the Best Teacher there is in my opinion . People who can't afford schooling and love to sing like Marcelito, they have good Ears in listening from anyone. I saw him here in Canada Concert in 2019 and he's a very Humble and Talented Singer. Goodday guys! In our country,the Phils.,in the early 80's until 2000s...competitions for dual singing was Nationwide!!!Every Provinces,towns and brgys.were having this competitions esp.fiestas...we call "Doble Kara" this king of singer while singing!
No one taught him how to sing he just learned by himself...

I am so glad you both talked about teachers who teach “this is the way to do it” method. I’m with you guys on that, and other things. There are hundreds, if not thousands of examples to prove it. I was so happy that my private teacher at the university music school I graduated from said to me, go and listen to as many different recordings of my instrument that you can. He taught, here are the basics and techniques but develop your own sound. He also said that I won’t have a private teacher for the rest of my life so you have to become your own teacher. One thing I found through teaching different levels of students was that by teaching them it helped me become a better player. Love to you both.

Marcelito is singing in two languages, English and Italian, neither of which is his native language, since he is Filipino. He is also sitting down, which is difficult for breath control. Done live...one take...no special effects. btw: Usual nice reaction.

Omg, its apparent that she is adorably moved! Watch her from when she initially hears Marcelito start singing to when he elevates to dual voices and the entire color of her face changes, not to mention her hiding herself with her hand when he starts his operatic crescendo. She appears overwhelmed with his talent and voice. So apparent and noticeable; love it!

What you were talking about at the end of the video is "cookie cutter" voices. And I've watched so many reactors critique negatively, on this video. Forget the fact that when he did this, not only was he singing the male and female voices, but he spoke NO English or Italian. He has learned a little more English since then. AND the fact, as you stated, he was SELF-TAUGHT!! He lived on the streets, alone and homeless, from the time he was a very young boy until he became older, fell in love and married. He sang to make money!! No vocal coach could ever teach him the beauty of his voice. It is natural!!! Thank you for this reaction. You're both so right!!!

I love your reactions on Marcelito's cover of THE PRAYER. Again, as everyone knows Marcelito is self-taught as he finished third grade only, stayed on the streets to
survive he has to work several kinds of jobs until he discovered he can sing to the chickens and pigs in the farms he worked. Then he was encourage by his co-worker
to join any singing contest to win some added money to survive. Sure enough he was the first Grand-winner of the Philippine Got talent and was asked to join the AGT
but refused it the first time. The second time the AGT contacted him he agreed to join the "AGT, THE CHAMPIONS" and got the 4th place only as he was not allowed to
choose the song he like for the Finals per Simon Cowell's order. But the general public knew that Marcelito won that contest hands down. Anyway, we saw him came to
Chicago during his last month concert tour and we got the seats just about 10-12 feet away from him. He sang THE PRAYER and many other songs. We were also able
to get a picture with him and signed the CD we bought. It was a great night for us. Watching from Illinois USA: 07-05-2022. Early morning here now. Good Night.

Fitting in has always been the goal. You have to sing like this, you have to be a size 8, you must speak like that. Everyone gets put into little boxes and sadly comply or you don't get your shot. The diamonds in every area will always rise to the top even if its just by word of mouth.
Dimash being the example. He never went through the Cowells of today. He is not signed up to a record deal or a PR company, until he had to break into USA. But Dimash keeps a tight control of who runs anything for him.
