Woah, the old battery sound just triggered hidden memories. I felt like I always remembered hearing that from somewhere, but I could never find the sound since I couldn’t pinpoint what it was coming from. I feel like I remember hearing it most in the morning, when my parents would get out of bed. I’d hear that sound come from their room.
It’s amazing to finally have closure on what the sound was lol
How did you never hear them plug in their phone when you’re nearby?

Also can we just mention that the old icons for IOS were great? Like that battery icon just looks so satisfying.
They switched from Skeuomorphic designs to the current flat design because it was hard to scale realistic icons.
@@Shreyas-S It's not as hard as you think really. The old designers built icons in absurd resolutions and built them in ways that were scalable anyway. All they had to do was compile them in the resolutions they needed from the master file and it was done. I do this same thing all the time.

This just reminded me of how brands went from highly detailed icons to weird minimalist ones.
It’s one of those trends that completely ruins their brand as a whole that’s what it is. The Fanta logo for example, couldn’t find it for the life of me until I had to squint my eyes and look closer😂
it makes sense digitally because they can use vector graphics to make infinitely scalable images
@@UJustGotGamedIt is possible to make vector art of realistic logos and icons. Mercedes-Benz' logo on Wikipedia is vectorized yet retains it's usual metallic look and shading.
The issue is that it can be a real pain to make. But it's definitely doable.

@@roguescorner9042 gradients are not infinitely scalable on typical monitors because they are raster and 8-bit color is too limited, but at most realistic scales you are right

You technically can but there is sadly a delay. I've done it before but got rid of it because the delay.

when i used to have a mobile (its broken and not useable now) if i charge it for hours it still would be 5 percent was so annoyinggg
And when it stays charging and you thought your good to use it but then when you unlock your iPhone or ipad it will black out and turned back on and then you will have to wait for like 10 minutes and then it will stop and go back functioning perfectly fine like nothing happened like i hate that so much bro i wish apple will give us an update to patch that in the future.

My god those first charging sounds are so nostalgic to me. I didn’t get my first iPhone (iPhone 6) until I was 14. But years before then I had a iPad 2 that I’d bring with me almost anywhere. I remember usually every night when I charged it that’s the noise I’d hear. Good times those were
Is 14 supposed to be an old age to get an iphone for the first time? Lol I didn’t get my first smart phone until I was 16, (i got an iphone much later) which felt reasonable enough. I know times keep changing but damn. 😂

I had an iPod, whatever Geb, back in 2009 and still remember the old charging sound. I was born in 2002, but I still feel old listening to the sound again.
I really like the old battery look. It’s 3D and looks amazing

Amazing. I had an iPod touch in ‘09 and later an iPhone 4 but I only seem to recall the iOS 7 and later sound.
My iPod touch 4th generation was the most nostalgic charging sound I have ever heard. I remember playing pocket god on that thing.
Basically, the same sound for the first 6 versions, then the same sound for the next few versions and a different sound along the way
Love the current one we use today, but MANN old charging sound is just so classic❤❤

I had an iPhone 3GS that I played games like Office Jerk, Ant Smasher and Glow Hockey on. I took it everywhere and filmed myself talking in my own “talk show” (vlog) about my own life, which was pretty much me going around asking what my parents were doing at the exact time or filming my sister.
It was about nearly a decade ago, we were driving in town, stopped at a 4 way intersection. I asked my mom if I could borrow the phone to take photos on and okay games (I asked her to hold onto it to charge) she took it out of her bag and it was crushed. She sat on it.
Years later- (2015, let’s say) my dad’s old iPhone 5 was given to my sister (who was only a baby, and she pretty much just watched CZcams on it.)
We still have it. Don’t remember the iCl- oh… iTunes password (back then,) so we can’t power wash it. But it works…barely. It’s got Bubble Witch 3 on it. Some old videos and photos of my elementary days.
Years later, let’s say 2019’s Christmas. I got an iPhone 8. The battery sucked, even on Low Battery Mode, and on low brightness. I loved it though.
Now in 2021’s Christmas I’ve got an iPhone 13. Crazy enough, Apple releases the iPhone 14 soon after that. I wonder what will happen next?

I had that OG charging sound on my first iPod Touch! Omg I missed it so much. Remember those days I’d play Galaxy on Fire and that Frog farm game every night. Too bad the battery died out a couple years ago tho. Thx for the vid!

they made it simple because it's on a small screen so there's no point in making it a full 3d render
If you mean flat design to everything, I think it's maturity. First we had simple designs because that was all we could do. Then we got crazy detailed and 3Dish everything because "hey look at all those pixels we have, we can do all sorts of crazy shit wow look everything is 3D!" But that novelty has long worn off and we realized we don't *need* every piece of interface to be 3D and crazy detailed

Apple needs to make new icons, animations, and UI Sounds. It’s been almost 10 years and we need something new now it’s the 2020s Apple!!! Make Neomorphic (The combination of flat and realistic icon design.) icons and animations with newer sound.

I've always wondered what iOS would look and sound like if Steve Jobs was still alive today. I like to think it would be a modernised but still skeuomorphic design (if I spelled that word right lmao)
I had a 4th gen iPod touch back in the day when that was the latest one which has made me very nostalgic for iOS 6. I remember when iOS 7 first came out in Sep 2013 with the complete design overhaul and I absolutely hated it and was glad the 4th gen iPod touch didn't receive it
Went from a well designed battery indicator to an overly simplified one. Brilliant
i mean, this was just shown when charging. when in use, the battery indicator was square and black and white only.
Which is also well designed. The old one is nice but also has unnecessary clutter. It's also more polarising for a broader audience

Fun fact: in the early stages of ios 7 (the betas) the charging sound was the same as the previous ios versions. Then they changed it in the final release
