    Okay but can we take a moment to talk about how great this guy’s English is? Consider his apparent age and the fact that most Japanese people are far better at reading and writing English than they are at speaking it, and this video becomes even more impressive.

      I seriously wonder about all this ASMR stuff. Do you really, actually FEEL something when you hear sounds like that? It's a shame not everyone can experience that, I wonder what that feels like.

    • @iamzafkiel
      @iamzafkiel Před 3 lety +2

      @@slaveNo-4028 It's not the sound, it's the motion in proximity. I can mute the system and feel the tingles right away. It's so rare that in decades of internet, I've found 5, 6 videos with it. It's not the same sensation, but try to aproximate something to your fave with the eyes close, there is a strange sesation of proximity, far from a pleasant tingle, but there is a hint there.

    • @slaveNo-4028
      @slaveNo-4028 Před 3 lety +1

      @@iamzafkiel hmm I've tried it, but I don't really know if I am doing it right or know exactly what you mean. (Like, when approximating something to my face, esp. with eyes closed all I notice is the "sound of the air" changing. And with ASMR in general I unfortunately never got any sensations either) It's very interesting though, thanks for explaining. People who can feel these things must have really finetuned senses I imagine, no? Maybe one can "train" it, or try it in a very relaxed state, or maybe some people just can't feel it at all, I fear.

    • @iamzafkiel
      @iamzafkiel Před 3 lety +1

      @@slaveNo-4028 I have read about some shaman pratices years ago and the book mentioned some kind of trances that they induce themselves with the help of sounds like drum beatings, beads etc. The movement and proximity ASMR is indeed a rare one, but there are many people who feels tingles with soft touchings too, not to mention fish in aquariums etc.

      I was under the impression it was to discharge any static from the barren so when it was placed on the paper it doesn't lift the paper.
      Try for yourself and place a piece of A4 flat on a table, then put your hand down over it until your practically touching it and the paper will lift, then do it again but grab a metal piece of cutlery right beforehand and the paper won't lift because you'll have discharged the static.
      I can't imagine even an "imperceptible" amount of oil would be tolerated with that type of parchment paper.
