So true on seat time and practice, practice and time by yourself in a big lot. Like you said, a.boss not breathing down your neck!! But helping a new person become a better heavy equipment operator.
Daniel P this is definitely true I know when I first started out I was told you'll never truly learn till your on your own and doing and thinking for yourself. That coupled with seat time is important. Even still to this day having my foreman standing there watching or anything like that makes me nervous and screws with my performance. I've actually jumped on the two way twice and said I charge admission to watch to him or anyone else who watches. Cause it just makes most people uncomfortable. It's one of those give me the space to do my job and learn and gather time in the seat if my performance isnt matching where it should be or on the off occasion you notice I'm doing something incorrect than yeah but beside let me learn, earn and burn some desiel!
Volvo are the only really companies that will let u go in and have a look and operate them
Triple like... These episodes are just brilliant...This series could be the whole channel.... But, the other stuff is great... Jus love seeing a fam work 2gether.....love to see them do a tower crane!!!!
Bring it Stan you know we're going to watch it
And a big shout-out to Nikki way to go Nikki
You are so right about not being as safe as we could be when we grew up around equipment, I grew up working on farms, and around excavators, backhoes, and skid steers as well as dump trucks ranging from pickups to Tri-axles, my grandpa always had tractors around. I always catch myself getting too close to a moving machine and trusting that the operator knows where I’m at and what I’m doing. I guess it just happens when you grow up around it. Not a good way to be though
Yep, safety is very important. Thanks for watching !
Great video I'm use to older loaders and it's nice to see how the new ones operate so thanks
This is a really great series. As someone trying to get into the industry who watches a lot of this type of content, these have been uniquely informative beyond the normal "here are the controls, don't do anything stupid" type videos. Most people who don't work in construction or mining would never think of setting the tires on a loader. I certainly wouldn't, just thinking "oh it's heavy, if my bucket is flat it should have enough traction". Thanks for making this.
In the UK there are training bodies that you HAVE to pass a test through before you can operate any construction equipment. It's commonly referred to as a licence, but it is a certificate of training, and as you get experience you can progress from a trained operator to an experienced, or competent, operator, and the licence card changes colour to indicate your level
Thanks Stan. These videos and now u come about teaching us as amazing ive watched a lot of your videos and learned so much u rock keep up the hard work love it buddy makes me more confident when i go our and do it my 1st time
Have enjoyed this series have always wanted to learn to run heavy equipment. Big shout to your wife for getting out of her comfort zone and learning to run this equipment.
Going along with the shut down, you can lock up the turbo if you don't cool it properlly. The blades and the housing cool at different rates and it will lock up the fins.
1 love these types of videos, and thanks for thinking of the noobs.
I have no idea how to operate this machinery but would love to learn one day so I really enjoy the content. Thankyou
Great video Stan. Keep up the good work
This helps me immensely!!! Thank you!!! Always wanted to so heavy equipment operations and these videos are really helpin me out!!!
These videos are AWESOME
Those videos are great. I have more confidence as a beginner, knowing how to operate the equipment now. Thankyou!!
Thank you CJ, glad the videos have been helpful!!
🚧 Love the equipment 🚜
I love the video! Your sweetheart did an awesome job! Thanks for taking the time to make this video! I know how it takes a ton of time to edit and get it right. Thanks!
HI Stan, I would love to see more on heavy machinery and the safe operations of such!! :) Would like to be able to operate later if I need too. I'm already operating a pay loader but was thrown into it. Thanks you Nikki for helping us see what we need to do!!
Love the series
I love these episodes
Awesome video!
Love the videos..I wanna learn and have the opportunity to run heavy equipment..
Thank you Alan!
Great video brother keep up the awesome work Nikki awesome job driving
keep this videos coming and keep up the good work.
Please keep on going we will all watch it good going.
Thanx 4 upload love it
I'd like to see these except using older equipment. I think most people getting into this are more likely to start out using older equipment rather than brand new top of the line stuff. But that's just speculation on my part from my own experience. Now this is an extreme example but I'm learning on an early 80's CAT 950 where the controls are absolutely nothing like these.
Love the videos
You have built one impressive business. Stop doubting yourself.
These videos are awesome! I think their great for all experience levels even if it just reminds someone of the basic. looking forward to your next video in the series! Maybe you could get into some more advanced skills afterwards!
State technical college in linn missouri had an HEO program that lasts a year covers all aspects including class time but mostly seat time. I got certified thru them.
you have helped me so much i love you videos you have gotten me 100 yards. i love big red buttons too.
Very useful. 👍
so good man
Thanks Michael!
I once worked a summer job where I had to use a payloader to separate and move oil tanker rail cars around a series of tracks so the oil could be pumped out. I was a young dude and not very cautious or considerate. I caused $1000's of damage to the rail cars since I had to use the shovel to push on the gangway to push them apart and then get behind and push on the knuckle to move a series of them. I'm amazed I wasn't fired and they even wanted me back the next summer. LOL.
Will be watching. While the big stuff is fun to watch I would be more likely to use info on the smaller machines. Mini excavator would be great to see.
Do: keep up the great video's, Just don't let me near any of the power equipment. Yes I do love the variety in the videos you provide. I don't have the ability to do everything in the videos' I watch.. From restoring Matchbox toys, to small engine repair to VW restomods, homesteading and earth bag or timber framing homes, etc. So your video's fill a niece. Thank you
I may have miss it but for your safety you won't always be working in a clean level yard, always clean your working aera of rocks and fill holes, make it level, drive around it to feel the level. Practice on different materials like big rocks. Don't try to go fast. speed will come with time and I don't mean pedal to the floor! Watch the bucket and front wheels too, some have gard on the side and hydraulic reservoir too. Semi trailer are higher and more difficult to load, be carefull. Ask and learn how to do a ramp when you receive new material to pile it like a mountain to take less space...Good video by the way!
Yes,I'm sure that a majority of subscribers AND new viewers to the channel would get a lot of information about the machinery they use or own. Maybe even owners of businesses that would be helpful to show their employees so they don't destroy the machinery, hurt themselves, someone else or customer's property.
I think the How to run a dump truck could be very useful, very handy to get into that Class B job market and it isn't quite like a car or truck even when they have an automatic nowadays
Very worth it ...
Nice machine skill...i am also an operator
Thanks Daniel!
thanks for the do & don't. I'm presently in a 980 c old cat loader and when I get nervous I dig holes :P I'm on a small crew and need to get better fast!
You're welcome Charlene, thanks for watching !
I would love to see a pay loader with a hammer, roller, backhoe, skid loader. Please do a show on using digging of geofarming for under grown geodesic domes. Thank you an God Bless
i appreciate it
I enjoyed watching this, and the quality of the production is excellent. I look forward to more in the series. The only thing I find is this really should be titled "how to teach someone to run a payloader" as this particular video didn't really tell me much about how to operate the equipment.
Look into Apprenticeship programs through Labor Unions. The I.U.O.E. has great ones!
BOOM!
You create really informative videos. Thank you so much! I will be having a job interview for an equipment operator I position. I will be tested on how to use a front end loader, attaching a trailer onto a truck or pickup truck, back up a truck with a trailer attach to it, and operating a farm tractor. What advise do you have for a novice?
I wish I had you guys on YOutube when I started working in a concrete plant loading sand and gravel into the hoppers. They just put me on a machine and turned me loose. Wrong thing to do when I never operated a loader before. It was an Old Old Old Cat, and no one showed me how to keep the bucket level, what the float option was, so I put a lot of clay into those hoppers and had to clean them out using the wheel barrow and shovel. I also got a lot of complaints from the bosses, I finally got it though on my own, and nearly getting fired when I had to whop up on a boss one time who carried the insults to a level I could not tolerate.
I am loving these videos. Is it possible to put a camera in the cab so we can see what she is actually doing?
Hi Stan, Love your channel and thank you for putting out valuable
information. I have a question on a patio installation. I am installing
Cambridge Ledgetone pavers. My patio area is 18' X 32' . 18'X12' out
of the 18'x32' is an existing concrete slab that is level. In order to
achieve a one inch drop per 8' towards the one end I would have to raise
the other end by 2 inches or so. Should I use paver base and sand on
top of the existing concrete to slope away or should I pour a thin layer
of concrete/ self leveler and tapper it from 2 inches to 0 inches over
16 ft? What would you recommend? Thank you for your feed back.

Operated CAT 966c back in the '70s. I always operated with both feet. We did not have joy sticks back then. But, at times I was operating 2 levers at the same time. My understanding is that these new machines are stupid proof in comparison to the '70s.
The bucket on that payloader is beefy.
I've been operating a forklift for thirty plus years would I make a good candidate. Just wondering
I rewatched this series when my boss said he was thinking about putting me in a payloader
Hope it helped out, thank you for watching !
@@Dirtmonkey would also like to see a series or video where you go through all your machines and show the different controls. I'm very intrested in which controls your skids use. Keep up the great content
Go into the U.S.N Seabees. They will train you and give you a paycheck.
Recently just moved to auburn, AL. I’m 20 just got done playing a year of college soccer. Before that did a year of landscaping. Currently seeking some sort of landscaping job in the auburn area. Any recommendations?
How about running a grader?
0:46 for actual start of video
The only reason why the foxs fighting is because when they're out in the wild they have to learn how to protect ourselves
👍
What shades is Stan wearing?
Looks like Ventrac
2nd week into pay loader ( wheel loader ) and i am loading trucks . . not so easy , bcz there is not much space , and all around me is water !
I drive CAT CATERPILLAR 950 F ( 1998 ) 2 joysticks , no automatic leveling of bucket . . .
It's fun , easy and i love the job !
IF THERE IS ANYONE WHO CAN HELP ME GET A JOB IN USA FOR PAY LOADER HIT ME UP !! PEACE
do you need a licence to operate bobcat and excavator in your state
because in New south wale we dont as from about 10 years ago
I have never heard of a (heavy) equipment license. I believe that even though a front end loader is not required too have a license plate, you would need a drivers license too drive it on the street.
I have noticed that some of the machines operators they forget about safety when they have a deadline to meet. But what they also forget that if they break something in the machine or cause an accident they are not only going to miss the deadline but they will loose a lot of money trying fix what they broke. And God forbid a life could be lost.
hi
Northwest Iowa Community College
Stan your wife is doing great
hate
when my dad breathes over my neck on our excavator I just want him to leave me alone to do my own thing
contracts
Is it just me or is 14 old for a farm? I started a 10!
Dude doesn’t have much a clue about turbos. Although at least he has a little clue as to they need cooling time.
Found it harder to watch this video...
Nobody calls these machines 'Payloaders' any more. They are either Wheel Loaders or Front End Wheel Loaders. You must 99 years old...
They're not they hard to drive...
