Packard overdrive operates in 2nd and 3rd...come up to speed, foot off foot feed and the overdrive kicks in...shift to 3rd, up to speed off foot feed into overdrive...
The older models, 1946-1950, had an overdrive knob to the right of the steering column under the dash,
and there was a light on the instrument cluster that lit when overdrive was available.
3-speed with overdrive is what I'm looking for - do you have anyone who can install Vintage air?
I can deal with a wingless Cormorant 'til I can find a replacement.

That would have an electric overdrive lockout switch vs typica push/pulll cable.
