I moved into a studio last years from a one bedroom. My best tips are duo purpose things. I have a desk that is both a computer/vanity space with a portable monitor that folds away. I have a daybed that is also a couch, a trunk for a coffee table with a tray on top that I store blankets and pillow in. A foldable table and chair for dining set and extra setting (That I can set up anywhere in the apt) Also, shelves are everything!! I have wall shelves on nearly every wall and a large mirror in the living room to open it up.

That is an awesome goal to have! I love the idea of the curtain too. I love having my friends over at my place so figuring out how I could accommodate them was something I kept in consideration when I planned my studio. Thing about studies think about those people when they started building apartments back in the 20s/30s they build up not out. So I think it the same concept here. Use any space and ONLY what you WILL use.

Use a sheet to cover your furniture, when a pet is in the house. great layout.
My dog is hypoallergenic so I never found it necessary but I can see how it would be for a dog who sheds!
how did you deep clean that couch? Professional services? or what did you do yourself?
I used a carpet/ fabric cleaner machine! I am not sure what its called, my friend let me borrow it. But it worked super well!

@Caira Thanks for the ideas. I'm wondering how did your landlord let you fix those things on the wall.
It was written into my lease that I was allowed to hang things on the walls, I just needed to spackle over the holes when I moved out.

I took the doors off the hinges in my space so that I could put stuff where the door would’ve been moving it made my space sm larger I just replaced them w a tension rod and heavy curtains
ciarra dical yes such a good idea! I didn’t have any doors in my studio (none on my closet or anything) but I did that in my college apartment and it helped a lot.

So many rental leases say you couldn't screw things into the wall, how did you get around that? Or did you just ignore it? This is what I'm struggling with right now, so many of these tips involve nailing things into the wall and my lease explicitly bans that. But maybe it's just one of those rules everyone ignores?
To my understanding the rule at most places is just that you have to leave it the same way it was when you moved in. So I put all the holes in the wall I wanted, and then just filled them in when I moved out! They didn't charge me anything!
My lease also apparently bans self-repairs, too. :( But I guess people just ignore those kinda things?

Offensive Username I use my tv for video games and to play Netflix while I scroll reddit on my computer. I am a big multitasker (plus I just love having a bigger screen lol)

I'm done after the first "hack" is essentially buying a couch that isn't huge. That's not a hack that's common sense.
