Actually studies show people's mental health would be better if they were on social media less. Take a walk, play with a dog, take care of some plants, help at homeless shelters, donate clothes and other stuff you don't use or need anymore, read a good book, swim for fun, build something, paint, draw, sculpt. Write a journal or a book, short story. As a social worker these are some of the activities I do with my group.

One of the boys parents with special powers is evil and is out to find him and kill him. The boys mother is with a group who believes her kind (mutants) with powers are superior to normal people.

The mentor character was also the mentor of the villain in star wars. The mom is essentially not existent to the plot and her scene is practically an after credits one.
Also the entire plot of the movie and the journey they go on is different.
The few similarities in this movie are found in basically every heroes journey movie ever.
