  • For my last adventure on my #easternitinerary I got a tour of Rangshikhar Nagtshang - an ancient aristocratic home dating back to the times when almost each region in Bhutan had its own lord. This is one of the remnants of Trashigangpa, the Lord of the east during a significant time in Bhutan's history.
Crossing the threshold, I entered a world preserved in time. Each room was a treasure trove of artifacts, each with its own tale. A sword gifted by the First King of Bhutan. An ancient almirah lock & key, a vintage brocade bamboo hat - there's so many treasures preserved at the Naktshang.
The family plans on opening a living museum to share the place's history to earnest visitors and that made me feel even more elated at the idea of being one of the first ones to visit and get a glimpse of a magnificent structure of Bhutan's heritage.
