It's so difficult for Sanremo given the level. At the Sanremo, you have 4/5 songs that are in the Eurovision top 5 !!!
People are complaining that artists are coming back, but they don’t realize how expensive Eurovision has become. Countries have to spend hundreds of thousands of euro and even well known artists can barely afford a proper staging. Some of these national broadcasters don’t even support their artists financially.
Eurovision has to come up with a change otherwise it will only be a show for 10-15 rich nations.
for most of the countries the broadcasters are in charge of paying the fee, which is the reason why we nowadays have 37 countries instead of 40+, another reason is obviously covid fucked the economy so hard that a lot of countries just can't afford it anymore.

To be fair san remo is not a selection for Eurovision so technically they are not competing for Eurovision contest

I hear that everywhere but how is it not a selection? The winner goes to eurovision therefore it’s a selection. Sure the winner might decide not to go to eurovision but that’s the case for every country’s selection. Is there something I’m missing?
@@euroesc5013the logic is there, but not the meaning. Just look at them and ask yourself: do they want to go to Eurovision? They are competing for something else, then also the ESC could be worthy. Look at Ricchi e Poveri, they are hugely famous in Europe, and elders.

@@giovannimoriggi5833 I guess it depends on the artist but I suppose any of them would like to go to eurovision. Sure, they are competing for the sanremo trophy, but so are spanish artists with the benidorm fest trophy, albanian artists for Festivali i Këngës and so on. That’s why several artists said that if they win their selection they won’t participate in eurovision (this year mostly because of Israel) instead of withdrawing from the selection. Because they still want to win the selection’s trophy. Some countries like Albania this year even decided to change the song. National selections aren’t always just a way to select a song and artist to eurovision and that’s okay. I love how Italy loves their national selection and doesn’t see it as just that and loves it a festival of its own right, that’s what every country should want to do. But to say that Sanremo isn’t a national selection is just playing the “we are different and special” which is a bit weird.

Itay and Sanremo never cared about ESC, it's not a matter of superiority, it's never be appealing, maybe now it started to be.
In the italian wikipedia page about "Volare" there's not even written about the role of the song in the ESC, just saying.
Sanremo have to be objectively different from all the others: it's the original one and it's never been correlated with ESC, it never had a single aspect correlated to ESC. It always made his path until now, this is simply, objective and if you knew Sanremo and Italians you won't struggle believe me.
We are different, most probably special if you consider the quality, but this is just history, not opinions. "playing we are different and special" is a problem for non Italians.
The funny thing is that globalization gave Italy and Europe the chance (after the Italy's return in 2011) to know each others and now foreigners can't believe what Sanremo has been for decades, and me here just keep on commenting "please just know you history".
No one can complain about the winner of Sanremo from the point of view of ESC, because there is no intention to choose an entry for ESC, it is that simple.

Pasha was already in Eurovision last year as a back up singer for Pasha Parfani.
Please realize that Moldova is a very small and poor country so for Moldova it’s normal to send often same artists.

I think the selection jury made a choice that this should be the year of the runnerups, those who came so close to winning in Melodifestivalen, and give Marcus & Martinus who lost to Loreen in 2023, and Danny who lost to her in 2012, as well as Dotter who lost to the Mamas with just 1 p in 2020 another chance, as well as Smash into Pieces who came 3rd in 2023.

He explained, that his character is a reference to a foreign "Kylym man", who was dancing with the band in 2022nd. So he wasn't in Turin.

All of them should have been in this video. Moldovan juries ruined everything. We could have had our first ESC without returning artists since 1970 if it wasn't for them. And I really hoped we could have 37 completely new artists this year. I want to witness an ESC without returnees, but we won't get as close as this year for years now 😢

@@ESCGiorgio No. You must have misunderstood their post. What they meant is that they play the same character but they're not the same person and artist. Think for example like a Spiderman. Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland are both Spiderman but they aren't the same person and therefore the same actor. It works simlarly. On Suspilne's Eurovision channel there are interviews with every aritst from the final 20 done and the interviewer lady asks him straight if he was the one who took part alongside Kalush Orchestra in Torino and he answers "No."
