That is a great list. At one point, I was thinking '... another thing is to start small' and 5 seconds later you listed 'start small!'. I have been creating small art pieces on a daily/weekly basis for the last few years and it has been a glorious journey. I will testify that the things you listed are all true.
As an offshoot of your tip to not be dismayed at mistakes: The first thing I think of when something I tried doesn't work out is 'well, now I got nothing to lose' and I try whatever wild idea I might have. Often, I get something I'm not unhappy with. Sometimes I get something I love that might look nothing like that 'mistake' phase but I probably wouldn't have gotten there without that mistake phase.
Other times, especially with intuitive doodles like yours (I do a wide variety of creative/artistic pieces), if I don't feel it's successful as a whole, I'll cut it up. I might cut it up into an index or business card sized rectangle, or use a square or circle punch, or I cut random shapes around the doodles and then incorporate those pieces into other artwork. A series of circles cut from an art piece displayed in an array in a frame might be just the thing to give new life to a piece.
Finally, I have been mailing my small art pieces to distant friends on a regular basis. It serves as a form of connection and they love getting them in the mail. I treat the backs of the art pieces and the envelopes as their own canvas: trying out a doodle, practicing some shading, or gluing down a circle from an abandoned larger art piece. I might 'see' the things I'm not that happy with but I'm fairly sure they don't see them at all. I tell them they can enjoy them for as long as they bring pleasure, they can pass them on to others as a small 'giftie' or they can use them in their own creative work. If I had been creating those pieces and putting them in a drawer, I don't think I would have lasted this long. It might have felt a bit pointless at some point. I don't think there's anything wrong with keeping one's artwork, I just know it wouldn't have worked for me and it might be an idea other people would like to consider. Of course, you can always sell your work, as well. I've been encouraged to do that and I have sold past creative endeavors. For me, at this stage of my life, it's not worth it. That seems like work. Gifting them never seems like work. Even picking out the stamp I will use brings me joy.
Art/creativity changes us. I can't explain how or even in what ways it changes us. But I am always happier and, I believe, healthier, when I set aside time to be creative. Thanks for showing how to make that happen.

Marilynn, thank you so much for sharing your experience and insights about the creative process with me. It's great to hear that you have been creating small art pieces on a daily/weekly basis and that it has been a rewarding journey for you. I'm glad to hear that the tips I listed resonated with you and that you found them to be true.
Your offshoot tip about not being dismayed by mistakes is fantastic. It's so true that sometimes our mistakes can lead us down unexpected paths and result in something truly unique and beautiful. I love the idea of cutting up an art piece and incorporating the pieces into other artwork. It's a great way to salvage something that you're not entirely happy with and give it new life. And sending your small art pieces to distant friends as gifts is such a wonderful way to spread joy and connect with others through your art.
You're absolutely right that art and creativity can change us in ways that are difficult to explain. It's a deeply personal and enriching experience, and I'm so glad to hear that setting aside time to be creative brings you happiness and health. Keep up the fantastic work, and I look forward to seeing more of your creative endeavors!

So interesting about the rounded shapes! Maybe that’s why we like portraits so much.

Your work is a terrific example of how each layer dictates the next layer and how the final outcome differs completely from the initial layer(s) - and it could have gone in so many different directions. Your work really appeals to me - thank you for sharing.

I love your longer videos. I’d like to see more of these ,with verbal inspiration, and maybe even talk about positive things, and relaxing things, your very calming and your voice is also perfect for bringing calm and peace to the environment as well as your encouragement and positivity. I find myself mesmerized and feel free and unafraid to try this intuitive art with abandon. You’d make a great motivational speaker or this would be perfect for anxiety and depression groups to listen to you talk and watch you slowly do your art while we watch and listen or try and do our own art while we listen to your positivity. Thank you for what you do and the joy and positive encouragement that you give to your viewers. Love Jean from in Wisconsin USA

Thank you so much for your kind words, Jean! I'm thrilled to hear that you enjoy my longer videos and find them calming and inspirational. Your suggestion about incorporating verbal inspiration and positive talk is a great idea, and something that I will definitely consider for future videos. It's always my goal to create a positive and uplifting environment for my viewers, and I'm glad that my voice and encouragement can help bring calm and peace to your day.
I'm honored that you think I would make a great motivational speaker, and it's amazing to hear that my videos could potentially help those dealing with anxiety and depression. It's my hope that my intuitive art can serve as a therapeutic outlet for those who need it, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to share my passion with others.
Thank you for your support and encouragement, Jean. It means the world to me to hear that my videos bring you joy and positivity. Keep creating with abandon and always remember to embrace your intuition!

Anita, hello my name is Kim h, I was watching CZcams clips, I started writing a response, at the time “I didn’t know it was you!!! “ on youtube shorts, your going to 😢laugh, I stated that I learned by watching you and Pam Caughey how to apply mark making to enjoy the “warm up” or a “Play Stage”. She calls it. And sent this comment then realized that I was watching the person that taught me!!!!!! Yay!!!!
Im sorry you had a migraine in this video, I had spine surgery and my art changed I notice that I used more black!!!!!

Hello Kim! Thank you so much for reaching out! I can imagine the excitement you felt when you realized it was actually the person who taught you. It's always wonderful to connect with the people who have influenced us!
Migraines can be quite debilitating, luckily I don’t have them too often))) It's interesting to hear that your art changed after your spine surgery and you started using more black. Sometimes life experiences can have a significant impact on our artistic expressions.

Hi. Thank you for another great video! I can't see the label of the paint pens you are using and the link doesn't work. May I ask the brand and type? They seem to flow very smooth, which is much better than the ones I'm using currently. Thank you!
