How Ventriloquism Works. Part of the series: How to Be a Ventriloquist. Throw your voice and learn about how the illusion of ventriloquism works in this free video on how to be a ventriloquist.
The "about" at 0:19 does not have a quite normal "b". Perhaps the lady in the green jacket speaks for the puppet without closing her mouth, so that such a consonant cannot be produced in the ordinary way?
In this case there does not seem to be a loudspeaker in the puppet. Rather, the lady in the green jacket all the time seems to speak herself, abruptly changing her voice without also changing her facial expression. Thus, your brain, used as it is to take such a shift as one to another speaker, will be tricked. At 0:19 you can hear how the "b" of "about" sounds unnatural. That will be caused by the lady leaving her mouth opened for the sake of tricking you visually. Try to say a normal "b" without closing your mouth, you'll see that it's rather difficult!
That's SUCH AN INFORMATIVE VIDEO WoooooWWW I'm sure when people search for ventriloquist all we want to know is this piece of information

Thank you so much. 🌹
This doesn’t explain much at all really, only the premise of the puppet
