    I really wanted a Pixel 8, but since I live in the Philippines, there are just too many drawbacks to owning one. Unless the device is rooted, 5g, VoWifi, and VoLTE are all not supported. Also, since Google does not officially sell Pixels in the Philippines, would have to course the warranty overseas, which a headache in and of itself. All these reasons led me to settle with the S24 which I got brand new for around $470 after discounts, and which will be delivered to me sometime tomorrow.

    An important point to note was with the biometric inputs of these phones. The S24 uses ultrasonic fingerprint recognition vs the Pixel's inferior optical fingerprint recognition. I had the Pixel 8 and the fingerprint scanner was terrible. I sold it because of this problem. Of course the iPhone has Face ID, which is awesome.

      These are hard to do, especially reception could take days of testing, so nobody does this. Phones nowadays are mostly cameras and social media browsing devices.

    I like both Android and Iphones. I have one of each but when it comes to value I would say that goes to iphone. Yes i think you get more for your buck for your use but when it is time to resale or trade in the iphone carries more value. I just got an estimate to trade my pixel 7 at $150 while I am getting $300 for my iphone 12 pro. The 12 came out like 2 years priort to the pixel 7. Needless to say I am not trading in either until they crap out.

    until pixel has a desktop mode like samsung dex then the s24 hands down but if you dont need that then the pixel.....its a no brainer. Ppl tend to only look at specs instead of thinking long term like after they break a screen , how easy is it to fix and where do i get a replacement or how long do i get updates for.

      @@lggr2261 While Exynos certainly 2400 has very good performance making no difference to normal users, modem/network connectivity parts are still weaker.
      In GSMArena's tests talk time dropped 20% from S23 despite of slightly bigger battery.
      And really Techmo has one of the rare side by side tests and Exynos is behind Sd8 Gen3 in most tests.

    Typing from a Pixel 6. It's held up incredibly well and would happily buy another Pixel product. The only downside (that's been corrected) is long term OS/software support.
    Samsung S series is tempting. Apple is once again living off it's reputation and embedded hardcore audience.

    The difference in display colors between samsung and iphone vs pixel is so big I dont know why nobody mentions that!!!.. on pixel 8 everything looks pale... its bright but much less vibrant.. i just bought it and I will return because colors look pale even compared to my older phone!!

  • @Strollerist
    @Strollerist Před měsícem +1

    Last year I changed from Iphone 12 to pixel 8 for fresh experience. Greatest regret of my life. This AI of pixel was fun at the first. And then later it became completely useless to me. The camera of Iphone is far better. Specially Pixel's camera at night felt like complete scam. I have never taken decent photo with the Pixel 8 in comparison to Iphone. Pixel camera design is the most anoying thing. Always stuck in my pocket. Nothing against Android OS. but IOS felt more convenient than Android. Android has just too many features that people don't really need on daily basis. Some apps on Pixel don't really load properly. Then I had to reload it manually. So annoying. TBH I could not do more than 40 minutes of Videochat on pixel due it's heat issue. When heat reaches certain temprature, it just automatically shuts down. Can you believe that your phone cant handle 40 minutes of video chat? With Iphone 12, I had never that issue. I also tried Xperia phone, which could not even handle 5 minutes of video recording. Since I use mostly Google services, it's automatic sync to my phone felt convenient. More importantly i bought my phone directly from Google store for 700$. Less than a year it already lost 200$ value. Now it is 500$. On Ebay it is less than 500$. I am not really a guy prefers Iphone over Android. But now I know why people like to use Iphone, which is like a German car in terms of value and functionality. Pixel felt cool at first. Not anymore. For 500$ it is a decent phone for scrolling apps! Can probably fulfill your basic daily minimal needs. Other than that I suggest Iphone over any phone!

  • @Cryosxify

    Have a pixel 8, phone won't quick charge if the battery heats up beyond 38c and it does that easily. So charging and using the phone to do things like watch CZcams isn't going to let charge beyond 5 watts which is really slow. However i don't have a pps charger so maybe once i get one it'll be different.
