Poverty, Chastity, and Obedience

  • Friends, the National Eucharistic Congress was one of the highlights of my priesthood. What a joy to be present with over fifty thousand attendees so faithfully seeking out our Lord. I highlighted three themes in my keynote talk: poverty, chastity, and obedience. If all Catholics lived out these virtues-and all of us, not just priests and religious, are called to them-we could change the world overnight.

the Goodness of God Christ, even though he knows us well..., is even greater if it can fit more
despite us, creatures that are difficult to bear due to our own infamy and the infamy that we wanted to stalk us in every decision, Infinite Goodness takes pity on us, and in His immense Love for the human spirits created by His Most High Father, promises to be with us every day until the End
Faith is born in respectful Prayer and in decisions in accordance with the Commandments, of those who seek to be Affiliates of God the Father, you just have to do one together with the other to discover the Reality of this test
Simple and at the same time, so difficult for many of us

At that time there was reason to ask laity to follow 10 commandments and priests to follow vows of poverty, chastity and obedience.
It is in my opinion that q greater part of catholics are not being taught well and i ask myself why why and why?
Had it not been for this revolution in social media what would happen?
To the clergy and administrative sectors of the church (all denominations) I say - to whom much is given much is demanded.

You are right girl. Jealousy can also cause mental health symptoms like insecurity for some priests or clergies and a lack of trust. It can lead to people doubting themselves and their partners and can also cause an emotional person's belief in their abilities, abuse invitation, and values. This will lead to people becoming preoccupied with the fear of betrayal.
If you are driving by the speed limit that is a form of obedience that you show your respect.

    • @MrsYasha1984

      Why... why indeed.
I heard once that Pope Leo Xiii had a vision, in which he saw satan and Jesus talking. Satan asked for a time of more freedom, to tear the Church down.
He wanted about 100years, and Jesus agreed.
If i remember correctly, this was said to be around 1898. Most people seem to think the 100years start with WWi, in 1915.
We saw in that 100years two world wars, the rise of communism with tens of millions of deaths, the pill, rise and legalising of abortions in multiplee countries, the falling away of the faith in the whole west and of course the abuse crisis in the Church.
Bad education of the faithfull was just in that mix...
But i sincerely feel that time is up, and it is turning around. And i alos feel, that if that is right, then God plans to bring something very amazing out of this misery. He always does

Bisop Barron continues to amaze and and has my respect. However, his teaching is directed primarily at knowing and believing. He strives to assist us in understanding what the Church teaches us about Poverty, Chastity and Obedience. And I do not, even for a moment disagree with what he has said. However, I like another commentor, have past my 70th birthday. I have been invloved with the church as an altar boy right up to and including 52 years on music ministry and working at the Diocesan level in the area of Stewardship. And it is in my work in Stewardship, as I am sure you can appreciate, as the persons designated by the Bishop to ask for money, that I was continually inundated with questions, or should I say challenges, about our faith. And these challenges came from what is probably the best educated congrgation the Church has ever had.
I firmly believe that we need to stop telling people what they should think and believe. I th9ink we need to focus on telling them to follow Jesus. To do as Jesus did. In a simple phrase, Jesus comforted the challenged and challenged the comfortable with what he said, but more importantly, with what he did.

@@TTHubble well it’s twofold. For one he’s a successful bishop, and for another he’s a successful CZcamsr. Not to mention he’s a philosopher. He build word on fire from the ground up. He writes books ( like 25 of them) and publishes others (including producing video). He’s running multiple large organizations. His diocese is an organization. On top of all this he’s a senior citizen. It really goes on and on. This is all in an age where people don’t do much besides sit around and watch tick tock. The point I was getting at is he does all this yet people who don’t do anything come online, grab their keyboard, and say “no, he should be doing this,” or “he needs to be telling people that.” It’s so lazy.

Jesus is the conveyor; the beginning of the creation of God (Revelation 3:14):
Jesus is the carrier of God the Father’s every word and his deeds. We are to believe and receive the word and deeds of God through Jesus: then we have fellowship with God. We are to honor and respect Jesus, as he is the only one who can lead to us God the Father (John 14:6). Only by Jesus can we obtain salvation. In John 5:24, Jesus said “He that heareth my word, and *_believeth on him that sent me,_* hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
All who believe and receive Jesus’ word and deeds will be led to God the Father and will serve Him only for all eternity (Luke 4:8). To all who serve any other besides the Father alone, Jesus will deny them before his Father; this includes those who serve Jesus himself as if he is God himself. Those who serve Jesus or any other as God shall not enter God’s kingdom, for our God is a jealous God (2 Corinthians 11:2, Deuteronomy 6:15).

Unless man turns to God, the infinite and everlasting love, happiness, truth, freedom...man remains in his frailty. This frailty remains a lack in man as he experiences infinite...at least in his deepest longings. Hence religion comes about to help man to grasp the infinity of who he maybe.
