Ryan Jackson ikr... ppl are upset when he doesnt put up videos; ppl are upset when he does put up videos. c'mon ppl woody doesnt do gameplay anymore, get over it already.
bibibibibi12345 He doesn't owe anybody anything. "We brought him up", no we never, his hard work and devotion and putting out good content is what brought him up. Sure, back in the day i subbed to him for his gaming videos, but times move on. The fact that you say he is "shitting on us" portrays a sense on entitlement, that he owes us something. As i said, if you don't like the direction that the channel is going, don't watch the videos or simply unsub.
I love this man, he has certainly chaged my life; getting me out of depression and encouraging me to follow my dream. I'm now exceeding my peers, mentally and academically. Thanks Woody.
Hey WoodysGamertag , this is the kinda stuff that should be on WoodysLab. Cool random experiments and stuff sure, but also mixing it up with some DIY would make for an awesome channel!
UnknownUser People love to hate Woody, even people who call themselves fans will say they want to rape his wife and daughter. People are just sick. i believe that is how the whole swatting situation went down, I think it was a fan for called the police on him.
selloutrecords In case you haven't noticed this has not been a "gaming" channel in a long time. So if you and other people are still coming here and clicking on a video titled "The complete guide to changing your oil" kinda makes you seem either an idiot or just jealous of the success of Woddy and would do anything to show that you hate it, i.e a puny dislike.
Some tips I learned, Pull the dip stick out a little it will help it drain faster by letting air in and oil go into the engine faster when refilling by letting air out. Also you can use a leather belt to loosen a tight filter. Use a large piece of cardboard to keep oil from staining your drive way. Most places will give you a paper funnel for free if you ask when you buy the oil. Lastly most parts stores have a tank you can dump your used oil, or most garages I have been to will let you dump it in their tank. P.S. Don't forget the transmission plug is always bigger than the oil plug. Had a buddy really screw that up, and before any one says I know it sounds silly but Murphy's law.
Woody, The first time I tried to change my oil on my own, I managed to drain the transmission fluid, and then (thinking I drained the right fluid) put the normal amount of oil into the car. When I was done, I had no transmission fluid, and too much oil. I then drove 300 miles with these fluid levels. I knew something was up when I stalled an automatic. I am now wiser.
I started watching you when I was 12 now im 17 and I this really helped me because I don't have anyone that would show me how to do stuff like this so thanks woody :)
Jackstands. Use jackstands to be sure the car isnt going to drop on you and cause serious harm. Never know when your equipment is going to fail on you. Put the stands on the frame behind the ramps and you'll be 100 percent safe.
I love these videos, I never was really taught how to do things like change oil on a car or whatnot and videos like these where woody takes time and explains things to people like me, who know nothing about cars, are amazing to watch
I already know how to change my oil. But I really appreciate watching this just because I've been watching Woody for a while now and it's pretty great seeing how he Woody wants to grow up with us. Pretty awesome.
Woody is such a great dad, these are some simple yet very helpful life skills. However I would highly recommend a pair of disposable gloves that you can buy in a pack of 100 or w/e, those are great, skin-tight and thin they basically act as another layer of skin, keep your hands clean and easy to wash afterwards.
I found this helpful. You need to make these DYI videos into a series. I enjoy learning these tips and I am a fan of seeing you be a good dad by educating your kids on random things. Best wishes to you and your family.
Woody please keep doing these kinds of vids. I am one of those people who started watching your videos in high school and now that I am in college these "life skills" styles of videos are really useful!
Just an interesting fact about engine oil, that you actually did make a mistake on in the video. The W in oil is actually the winter rating, a 5w-30 and 10w-30 will have the same characteristics when at regular operating temperature. 5 however is thinner when cold. Here in Canada during the colder months I switch my oil from 10w30 to 5w30 in my Nissan R34GTR and it makes a noticable difference when starting the vehicle. Thanks for this video, I used to watch religiously years ago before I was into cars at all, now this video interests me. Despite being elementary work most people already know how to do, I think the style of video is great. Hope for more.
A couple things were overlooked in this video are; it is good practice to fill the oil filter before putting it back on and also there should be a copper washer on the sump plug, this stops oil leaking out. Before you put the sump plug and washer back on you should anneal the washer with a blowtorch so when you tighten the sump plug it will create a fresh seal.
Important note: don't drain the oil right after driving the car. Hot oil on the hand is not pleasant. Good job woody! You covered all the points that dad taught me. I'm 33 now, been changing my own oil for since I started driving... But I still watched this whole thing.
Mobil 1 is great stuff, but Amsoil is even better for two reasons. It is completely synthetic, and also you can take a sample of your oil when you change it, send it to Amsoil, and they will tell you what part of your engine is wearing down. An Amsoil dealer told me that a couple of weekends ago and I thought it was the coolest thing! Also, didn't realize you were a part of the Tacoma fam! Right on man!
SkylineBNR34 Haha I know man, I wasn't trying to shove it down anyone's throat. Just thought I pass that info on to someone who may find it as interesting as I did.
Been awhile since I've watched one of your videos but I figure I'll chime in here. I learned a trick with the filter where you use a plastic bag to cover the filter and that catches the excess oil and keeps it off the rest of your engine. You don't need to worry as much about "cup side up" with this approach.
I like to take it to the oil changing places. It doesn't cost that much more, it takes 10 minutes, no mess, no hassle. They are also really good at pointing out other things that are wrong with your car that you probably wouldn't have noticed unless you are a mechanic. But it is good to know how to do it.
turdsandwicher Every time we've taken it somewhere, they always mess with other stuff, like tire pressure, among other things. And they always tightened the filter too much. I much prefer knowing what's been done to my car, and not be surprised by things they change without my knowledge. Obviously not every shop does this, but I've yet to find one that doesn't.
the nice thing about cars/trucks is you don't have to worry as much about pre-filling the new filters... it can be kind of a pain to do it on the log trucks i have to service although luckily their filters mostly go on vertically
Mobil 1 is all fine and dandy until you have anything with a flat tappet cam then you need a straight non synthetic with high zinc to cushion the camshaft
He's using dollar shave club gel to get his hair to look like Naruto from Naruto Shippudin ; which he watches a lot of since he loves anime. Obviously.
I really like this type of videos now, it's woody's forte, just being an seasoned dad figure who gives advice on things. Like mail monday but now a more practical, day to day oriented site of it. We really miss the videos of you woody but this is a nice replaceable.
Thanks Woody, I just got my car (2005 scion xa passed on by me sister) and I can't wait to show off to my dad that I already know how to change my oil. 3000 miles to go, lol. Good video.
Great video! I think its an area which isn't covered or explained really, unless you have a dad to teach you. Anything else car maintenance or just practical stuff like how to spackle a wall, or seal a bathroom would be awesome to see. Also a more in depth finance series would be great.
Great video Woody! Thanks for doing this, the only suggestion I would have is that when you're checking your oil, be sure that your vehicle isn't on a slant (or on those ramps you were using) as it could give a slightly false indication of your true oil level. Overall great videos, I love it when you make these "Growing up with Woody" type of videos haha. :)
I learned how to change my oil and filter a few months ago but I learned most of the times, it's cheaper for someone else to do it most of the time plus they will throw in extra services.
Woody you also wanna run a thicker oil when you are running higher RPMs most people who need this probably know but if you are racing, or in my case i drive a purpose built mud truck so i get a little thicker oil (15w-45 or 20w-50 depends on my mood) It handles better at high RPMs for a long time
IMO I think you should make a head light and tail light restoration video. I thought this video was super helpful. I never really had a father explain to me how to do this. Where the oil filter is at is different on my vehicle. On the truck it is like directly underneath the engine. The air filter how ever is basically the same. Just pop the tabs, lift the cover and swap it.
Woody, you'd want to mention to remove the oil cap on the top of the motor when removing the drain cap. Helps speed up the process and remove and pressure build up when draining. Also several mechanic shops will take used oil. Otherwise great video.
Very typical video with that little blunder during the filter removal. Kind of enjoyed it as it showed its not going to be a flawless change every time. Great Video, keep it up!
I like Valvoline. Pennzoil is like the only one who makes oil for my car though. It's good. Pennzoil 0W-40 with a K&N oil filter. Dodge Challenger 6.4L.
So, when you showed the dipstick you said you want it in the middle of the safe zone. I work as an automotive tech, and you want it at the full mark. (top of safe zone). Also, you don't want to over oil a car because it creates too much oil pressure which will cause seals and gaskets to potentially blow/leak. Over oiling a car won't cause the oil to bubble/froth. The reason for this is because oil, ATF, gear oil, etc. have anti-foaming agents in them. Just saying.
Kraetorz With what you wrote here, I wouldn't trust you at all to work on my car or anyone else's. Oil froths because of the crankshaft hitting the oil while spinning, which will cause bubbles to form, regardless of you thinking it can't. And oil pressure is constant in cars because of mechanical pumps installed in the oil pans, too much oil wouldn't do a damn thing in oil pressure, too little oil can because of it not picking up enough because the oil pickup tube is in the bottom of the oil pan. If oil had anti-foaming agents in it, why do I always have little bubbles form into the oil drain pan when I change my oil?
i just did my oil too, it take it to my schools auto shop and do it my self, for re attaching the oil filter it has the bottom like a bolt, and im not sure if you knew this, use just use that special socket, a 5 inch extension and the socket and you tighten it a decent ammount
Growing up with the Gamertags. Honestly, I'm 21 and have changed axles, leafs, coils, and exhaust manifolds. Did I get paid for it? not really, mostly because I fix broken things. Also it's a jeep thing.
Nice video. I enjoy doing my oil myself too because it's nice to know it's done right. Plus a lot of us that do it our self take pride in our vehicles. The only thing I do differently is buy 5 quart jugs because in my area it's about 40% cheaper than buying by the quart. No idea why.
If someone told me 3 years ago that my favorite call of duty commentator would be making minecraft videos and showing me how to change the oil in my car....
Whats with the dislikes? The video is exactly what it says. If you don't like that, don't watch it.
Ryan Jackson I like to think they envy my sex appeal.
Woody, have you ever considered making a twerking video?
WoodysGamertag I can't argue with that ;)
Ryan Jackson ikr... ppl are upset when he doesnt put up videos; ppl are upset when he does put up videos. c'mon ppl woody doesnt do gameplay anymore, get over it already.

selloutrecords then don't watch it, I came to watch woody in general, I don't care whether it's changing his oil or playing video games.
selloutrecords In case you haven't noticed this has not been a "gaming" channel in a long time. Eli Burton lol when did that happen? The swatting thing
i don't recall exactly just search woodysgamertag swatting. He has a 2 part video telling the story.

Jim Redtalon At least he has a transmission plug. On my car you have to drop the whole pan.
desertfox2020 that's harsh, I had an suv like that.
Jim Redtalon I've been told it's a domestic thing. US cars don't have transmission drain plugs but foreign ones do.
Wait can you explain the Murphy's law part? Thx :)
Woody,
The first time I tried to change my oil on my own, I managed to drain the transmission fluid, and then (thinking I drained the right fluid) put the normal amount of oil into the car. Love these vlog style diy things, keep it up woody
Jackstands. Use jackstands to be sure the car isnt going to drop on you and cause serious harm. Never know when your equipment is going to fail on you. Put the stands on the frame behind the ramps and you'll be 100 percent safe.

Watched the entire thing, thank you Mr. Gamertag!
Next, do "How to Change a Tire". I had to help some people on the side of the road recently, and was really happy that I knew how.
This video reminded me to change my oil tomorrow when I get paid. I knew I was going to but forgot
I found this helpful. You need to make these DYI videos into a series. I enjoy learning these tips and I am a fan of seeing you be a good dad by educating your kids on random things. Best wishes to you and your family.

Woody, this is a great guide. Not a lot of people know and its very necessary. Thanks for the guide.
Thanks woody i really like these sorts of videos and i learn alot from them! Please keep making them!
At first I was like "How could this possibly be 20 minutes?". Now I see and now I appreciate it.
Woody wanted to make a joke so bad when he was lubing up the filter.
I'd like to see more of these. It was very informative, thanks Woody!
Woody's chanell is slowly becoming farm videos and a weekly (most of the time) podcast.
Mobil 1 is great stuff, but Amsoil is even better for two reasons. Woodys such a nice guy.
She's like "Nah I'll watch a tutorial online, thanks"
Oh this is so cool!!! What a fantastic idea Woody, I'm not even 30 seconds in! Great video idea! Lets get more of these!
Great video, Woody helping his fans turn from boys to men!
Perfect timing woody! Love videos like this!

Ahh but the shop I go to is strictly oil changes. They don't profit from pointing out other problems with the car.
turdsandwicher Every time we've taken it somewhere, they always mess with other stuff, like tire pressure, among other things. And they always tightened the filter too much. I like the idea that your audience has been growing up with you. Because we have. I know I have, I like this type of video. Keep it comin
Remove oil cap when letting the oil drip. It will force pressure down and help you get out as much oil as possible.
Very good idea thanks
Woody I love these Vlogs, Please keep them up and teach us more important things!
Mobil 1 is all fine and dandy until you have anything with a flat tappet cam then you need a straight non synthetic with high zinc to cushion the camshaft
Why did you buy single quarts at $9 or so per quart when post stores carry five quart jugs for around $30?
Hmm, what gel are using Woody?
Adrian Garcia In this video? Probably old engine oil. :)
He's using dollar shave club gel to get his hair to look like Naruto from Naruto Shippudin ; which he watches a lot of since he loves anime. Obviously.
konflictification sign you up for a job on the sponsorship department of PKA haha
Actually I was just referencing PKN...
WoodysGamertag Should have used wet platinum...works for everything....
I miss you Woody comeback and do more vids I miss the tec tuesdays and the regular gameplay commentaries
Next video "The Complete Guide To Checking Someones Oil w/ WoodysGamertag
ft. Joe Lauzon"
I really like this type of videos now, it's woody's forte, just being an seasoned dad figure who gives advice on things. Like mail monday but now a more practical, day to day oriented site of it. We really miss the videos of you woody but this is a nice replaceable.
I really enjoyed this video Woody. Thanks for the upload!
Another good piece of advice is to stick jack stands as a secondary safety measure when your under the car.
I really enjoy your wealth of knowledge. You tend to collect a lot of it over thousands of years.
It defenitelty helped somebody Woody! Great influence, great father, and a great role model. Thank you for the videos. Keep it up.
You should make more videos like this, it really helps
I like these help guides woody plz keep them coming :)
Thanks Woody, I just got my car (2005 scion xa passed on by me sister) and I can't wait to show off to my dad that I already know how to change my oil. 3000 miles to go, lol. Good video.
Awesome video woody, these types of videos are great and you should do more of them.
More videos like this!!! Id like to see a over view of your truck. IE; towing, motor, tires, suspension etc.
Great video, also you might want to use Jackstands for added safety just in case the plastic ramps fail
JESUS LOOK AT ALL THAT OIL

Call of Duty Dancing king
I really like these types of videos
This is really nice. Please make more videos like this. Ur the best
Woody should do more "car tutorial" vlogs like tire changing and battery and such
I learned how to change my oil and filter a few months ago but I learned most of the times, it's cheaper for someone else to do it most of the time plus they will throw in extra services.
Finally making use of this video, oil change time.
You probably get a lot of this, even from me before, but i really love these vids. Thanks
Woody you also wanna run a thicker oil when you are running higher RPMs most people who need this probably know but if you are racing, or in my case i drive a purpose built mud truck so i get a little thicker oil (15w-45 or 20w-50 depends on my mood) It handles better at high RPMs for a long time
thanks wooodys, this hellps for the future
IMO I think you should make a head light and tail light restoration video. I thought this video was super helpful. I never really had a father explain to me how to do this. Where the oil filter is at is different on my vehicle. On the truck it is like directly underneath the engine. The air filter how ever is basically the same. Just pop the tabs, lift the cover and swap it.
You can pour your used oil on an unlit burn pile, fence row, or any where you would like to kill the weeks.
This was surprisingly entertaining
Woody, you'd want to mention to remove the oil cap on the top of the motor when removing the drain cap. Helps speed up the process and remove and pressure build up when draining.
Also several mechanic shops will take used oil.
Otherwise great video.
This is legitemly hilarious to watch
Very typical video with that little blunder during the filter removal. Kind of enjoyed it as it showed its not going to be a flawless change every time.
Great Video, keep it up!
Good video Papa Gamertag. I enjoy these tutorial videos.
I use a big water cooler jug for my used oil. This allows me to get rid of it every 5-7 oil changes.
We love you woody !
these are great videos woody! you're like the father i never had no joke intended
i love these videos keep up the good work
This is great Woody! I'm getting my first car very soon and this will help me out a lot . Thanks!
I like Valvoline. Pennzoil is like the only one who makes oil for my car though. It's good. Pennzoil 0W-40 with a K&N oil filter. Dodge Challenger 6.4L.
Good Guy Woody.
The first time i changed my oil I over tightened the oil filter and bent it. Learned my lesson :)
Actually every store that sells oil and filters does have that book.
You don't need ramps, just a floor jack and a jack stand.

If oil had anti-foaming agents in it, why do I always have little bubbles form into the oil drain pan when I change my oil?
Great vid woody hope you do more of these on like doing taxes or something
I also use Mobil 1 full synthetic in my 5.7 V8. Been good to me so far.
Decent video Woody, what about camping stuff maybe fire lighting or anything like that?
i just did my oil too, it take it to my schools auto shop and do it my self, for re attaching the oil filter it has the bottom like a bolt, and im not sure if you knew this, use just use that special socket, a 5 inch extension and the socket and you tighten it a decent ammount
all in all pretty good job woody
Hey man i really liked this video. we have come a long way since mail monday!
Don't get synthetic unless you plan on abusing your vehicle, it just blows seals quicker if you drive normally
Growing up with the Gamertags. Honestly, I'm 21 and have changed axles, leafs, coils, and exhaust manifolds. Did I get paid for it? not really, mostly because I fix broken things. Also it's a jeep thing.
Thanks dad
oil and anti freeze makes a delicious milkshake
Nice video. I enjoy doing my oil myself too because it's nice to know it's done right. Plus a lot of us that do it our self take pride in our vehicles. The only thing I do differently is buy 5 quart jugs because in my area it's about 40% cheaper than buying by the quart. No idea why.
