Am I the only one who has been watching Woody's video's religiously for the last few years. Don't think I've missed a single video since the MW3 Hardline tip. I doubt I'm the only one who is incredibly happy for the success you've brought upon yourself, aswell as the awesome life you've set for for yourself. As a person who has been along for the majority of the journey, I can say I've enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you Woody.
I've been watching since 2010, I first saw him when he did his Word to the Wise series with machinima and I haven't missed his videos since, he's one of the few guys I follow regularly anymore nowadays and I watch PKA religiously. Nice to see the guy doing well, he's a genuine guy.
+King Green™ I've been subbed for a while idk how long but what has really kept me around is PKA because I always so PKA's being posted but I saw the video and never understood it was a podcast for whatever reason then for whatever reason I decided to watch it and fell in love with woody as a person and now i never miss a video he uploads. I've been watching since before the drinking episode when murka was shitting all over lefty haha. Not sure how long before that though
Ubiquiti is good stuff, I plan to install a few AP's in my small house eventually. My friend Kevlar Condom uses them throughout his house and loves them.
Yeah I'll have to agree with you woody my major in college is networking technology heavily focused on Cisco proprietary software. I graduate in May so hopefully I'll get a jr network tech position or at least a help desk position. Learning commands is pretty easy once you practice it enough. Imagine for your capstone designing, implementing, and setting up a mock small business network for a stadium. Not easy we had 3 blade servers running windows server 2012 R2, along with 26 VM ware machines running windows 10, along with Linux running CentOs, 5. Cisco 2920 switches, 5 cisco 1841 routers, Microsoft exchange server, and VoIP. One of the servers was running powershell which is harder than the basic commands for that edge router. Keep in mind this was for an associates degree definitely challenging.
As a high school junior interested in getting into the networking field, this was pretty cool to watch. I only have an A+ right now, and my high school course travels at a pace of two certs in four years..but...maybe some day.
The surround monitors look like Qnix QX2710's which are great 1440p monitors that you can get for ~$200USD. Didn't see any info on them so thought I'd post this.
I'm looking at a Ubiquiti setup for my house, I couldn't help but wonder how you did the AP out in the guest house? Did you run a cable out there or can you connect them totally wirelessly? I have a similar situation where there is a finished building some 80ft or so from the house and I've been told ethernet cables won't be reliable enough at that length. Great setup!
My 14" laptop has i5, 8gb ram, upto 25 hours battery (about 15hrs on max brightness and 10hrs with keyboard backlight) and was $400 cheaper then the mac book air when i bought it at the start of the year. I use it for uni, sysadmin stuff and rare gaming. Windows does slow down even with basic student and sysadmin applications but a reinstall every 6 months fixes it.
+TheShadyOneHD I know it's like a month since you commented, but I think your proclaimed "15 hours on max brightness" battery life sounds a little "shady". Which laptop do you have?
+UnknownUser Agreed. I've been thinking about an upgrade for a while now but it seems like the performance jump is something like 10%. That's nice but I can wait for another round of chips that will do better.
Do those wireless access point create a new wifi network? My house has very poor wifi so I bought a wifi extender but it created a new network so I have to constantly switch between the original wifi network and the extended wifi network depending on which part of the house I'm in. If those wireless access points don't create a new network I'd appreciate if you could tell me the brand and model of them. Thanks
I feel you missed a couple things so I'll ask. Also, these may be only for those who want more detail... The webcams you use, what are they and why two? Keyboard, mouse? Brand of mic arm? I know you're super into audio, have you thought about having the room treated for audio? Last question, what's next for your computer, and it's current specs? (Ram, graphics card, etc.)
Logitech x5, one is for PKA, the other for chatter bait. Modest Media keyboard deluxe edition. Modest media mouse with turbulent processor. Don't know about the mic arm. I never wanted my room treated for audio. Computer is maxed out level 50. Probably start another play through and do the evil spec.
Hi Woody. Quick question, as you worked at Cisco I'm curious to know why you didn't invest in the Cisco Meraki AP's. Personally had some time working with Cisco (UK, Manchester) and had a good experience so far.
Hey woody, that's a brilliant setup you've got there. Would've loved to see your home theatre setup too! And maybe a firearms tour with a mag through each gun?
Is there by any chance you can some what make a list of your peripherals. Keyboard, headphones/sets, microphones, etc. Or maybe even create a new video dedicating it to all your peripherals.
Hey Woody just curious what Mic booms are those? been trying to find a decent one that will hold my SM7b I just picked up and my current one doesn't do the job!
that's some nice ubiquiti stuff there. surprised there are no "why not a hp procurve or dell powerconnect switches" in the comments. I'm assuming the WAPs are the AC versions with the zero handoff feature. If that is true how well is it working, I have been reading mixed results for that feature. Supermicro was running pfsense? opnsense? etc...
I like the Unifi for a cheaper wifi, but if you want badass check out the Rukus Zone controller. Its easy and seamless. The unifi needs more attention over time than some people like to give, but still good. Not bashing you, just my experience.
+FisherTwelve I actually bought them because they are cheap for the performance the offer. I've found them to be stable but tricky to learn compared to the stuff I've used that is either consumer oriented or somewhere in between, like PFSense. For a home setup like mine I don't even begin to stress them so if you're buying for a big business I'd ask somebody with heavier requirements.
+WoodysGamertag I actually have deployed about 30+ edge routers in my company including ER-Lites, ER-Xs, and ER-8s in different roles and positions. I am also working on becoming certified on Brocade Vyatta which is what EdgeOS is based on. Having done Cisco IOS and Brocade's switching / routing platforms a lot previous to Vyatta, I really enjoy Vyatta. There are still some shortcomings and oddities but when it comes to QoS and Traffic Shaping etc, its been by far the least painful. For the price, they are super easy to setup and maintain while keeping the performance high.
Especially win you start getting into licensing from big networking companies like Cisco/HP/Dell/Juniper/etc. it's really not worth the trouble until you exceed a certain number of users/hosts in your network. Multifunction "home routers" don't scale as well when an organization grows.
Hey Woody, I'm really interested in getting Ubiquiti wireless access points for myself. Are they all connected via ethernet? Do you have ethernet wired throughout your house? I feel like the biggest challenge with installing multiple access points would be connecting them all to the internet.
Yeah try setting up a Cisco Aironet Wi-fi router without the software to set it up easily. To get that to spit out a DHCP address is a pain. Because Cisco thinks its smart to not to ship with a default address so you can access the config page. I like command line interface on Cisco routers but on the wifi its nice to have the GUI console. So i know exactly where you are coming from on that supermicro.

+King Green™ I discovered woody from his dual com with hutch, thats when wood got BIG ;p
Started watching during mw3 for his tips and stayed for PKA and mail monday

+Finesse God lol u blind kid

What's cringey is when someone puts "HD" at the end of their name
+SinfulKHD well... not really... at all
Any chance we could get an update on the gun collection?
I like you liking it when i like it
Thumbnail = Woody looking into your soul.
Hey Woody, can you do a gun tour? Just a thought, thanks.
Would also love to see this. And maybe a mag through each gun?
G-Fuel ad was so cringey! xD
It's amazing how little I understood... Still loved it man. Keep it up!
Ubiquiti is good stuff, I plan to install a few AP's in my small house eventually. My friend Kevlar Condom uses them throughout his house and loves them.
Nobody replied to you, OMG. Hi Barnacules
Ok time to find snowcat
Love how he shows off showing how big his house is
Great video Woody! And that white NAS is 4TB. I just watched the old setup video the other day and posted it on the subreddit.
nice digs Woody, can't wait to see the outside and the progress on the barn.
Yeah I'll have to agree with you woody my major in college is networking technology heavily focused on Cisco proprietary software. Woody will you start livestreaming again? We miss you on twitch
We Appreciate you woody.

Updates lol
Woody, thanks for everything you've done over the past 5+ years
I haven't seen your videos since black ops 2. When I heard your voice brought man tears to my eyes. I love you Woody!!!
Plz make gaming videos again, you were the best youtubers by a mile
Awesome, i've been waiting for this ever since you built your computer on stream
Woody is an inspiration
LOL, that icon. Looks like a 90s hacker movie.
Thanks for the video, Woody! Pfsense is awesome, but I'll watch this tomorrow.
The thumbnail is better than life itself
First tech tour I've seen that didn't mentioning anything about consoles or gaming equipment.
That promotion in the middle of the video killed me, good job Woody.
Yes the video i have been waiting for
Loved this

this was really cool and interesting. Do you know if pka plays may happen again?
loving the vids woody
Should've titled it "Woody's Huge Rack"
I'm looking at a Ubiquiti setup for my house, I couldn't help but wonder how you did the AP out in the guest house? Did you run a cable out there or can you connect them totally wirelessly? you should invest in a home theater in that big house! high end speakers can be fun
You can run monitors with diffrent resolution in a multi monitor setup. I have 3 diffrent resolutions and it works.

The CIA called they want their reactor back.
at around 21 minutes in your showing the coverage map of your internet, how did you get that ? awesome vid
12:44 - 12:58 We have reached the pinnacle of seamless advertisement. Don Draper would be proud. lmao
Woody, a homeless person has taken refuge in your thumbnail for your video.
You really are an impressive dude.
"Doxing myself piece by piece" lmaoooo keep up the great vids mate, really enjoyed this "tech tour" one :P
I really like woody
Woody, you should consider upgrading your PC when Broadwell-E and Pascal drop Q1 of 2016. It would be a huge jump over the 3930k and OG Titan.
+UnknownUser Agreed. I've been thinking about an upgrade for a while now but it seems like the performance jump is something like 10%. That's nice but I can wait for another round of chips that will do better.
+WoodysGamertag There's always the Xeon route.
Pewe That's Haswell-E, next gen Broadwell-E's are coming Q1 2016 with up to 10 core support unlike the 5960x's 8 core.

His name IS woody. ;)
That thumbnail was intense
Hi Woody. Quick question, as you worked at Cisco I'm curious to know why you didn't invest in the Cisco Meraki AP's. Personally had some time working with Cisco (UK, Manchester) and had a good experience so far.
What chair is it that you have? Also would you recommend it? I figure because you spend a good portion of your day sitting it might be worth buying.
Hey woody, that's a brilliant setup you've got there. Would've loved to see your home theatre setup too! And maybe a firearms tour with a mag through each gun?

does chiz still live in the shed?
No he m9ved back because he missed his dad
He lived in the guest house/"school", not the shed- but he moved home to be with his dad more.
No, moved back to California for family reasons.
I love this comment XD Living in a shed!
@WoodysGamertag do you use a Kydex holster for your S&W Shield? Do you like it. I find mine uncomfortable for some reason. Thanks.
that's some nice ubiquiti stuff there. surprised there are no "why not a hp procurve or dell powerconnect switches" in the comments. Are the 1440p monitors all Qnix QX2710? Have you had any problems with them? (Since they are the cheapest)
I thought he was going to show us his "other attic" and that he would tell us he had a super computer and show us jimmy
I like the Unifi for a cheaper wifi, but if you want badass check out the Rukus Zone controller. Its easy and seamless. The unifi needs more attention over time than some people like to give, but still good. Not bashing you, just my experience.
Very Sexy, I agree about macs I've had mine 3 almost 4 years and it works as well as day one and less crap running in the background slowing you down.
woo, yes!
What sort of addressing scheme do you use? Is anything assigned statically?
How do you like Ubiquiti products? Been thinking of picking up an EdgeRouter for my place but they cost a pretty penny
+FisherTwelve I actually bought them because they are cheap for the performance the offer. I've found them to be stable but tricky to learn compared to the stuff I've used that is either consumer oriented or somewhere in between, like PFSense. great video woody :D
Good stuff, Woody!
I like how woody just has a piece just sitting right on his desk lol
Cool beans Woody
Woody we need a house buying guide!
Cute house!
YOUR BEARD IS SO FUCKING AWESOME I JUST WANNA RUN MY FINGERS THROUGH IT AAAAAAAAH
Put the new one in the Sun room and the old sun room one in the dining room
Jacky was fired
That product placement ad tho
Man i love Gammelabs
I don't it taste like shit.
What does it taste like?
+Bandstand Like the piss of a diabetic
that RAID 5 explanation lmao
Woody's server room is the size of my house
How is your WiFi in your room? The map showed it was hardly covered at all. Even though the sun room is right next to it
You're a very fortuitous man - I am jealous of your house. I know you've worked hard for it so go you. Glad you're enjoying life.
I'm confused why are their horses in his house ?
Because if you combined all his money and assets it very well may be 7 digits
He has pet sharks hidden somewhere to. You know, the ones that Kyle will jump on their back,
+yeahjeff327 probably not, and if he does he's prob at around 10 million. That being said, he's rich af

12:45 DOWN IT FRESHARRRRR
Have you looked into ATT Gigapower? Apparently it's ATT's answer to Google Fiber.
The key to keeping kit ticking over is regular reboots and of course keeping dust at bay 🆘
Do you virtualize your servers with type 1 hypervisors such as VMware esxi?
i love gammelabs
Poor Colin, giving him a Mac keyboard. Sauce him a nice mech one for XMas
How long did it take you to learn how to setup a home network etc?
+Markyroson Home networking isn't very tough. I think you can get the basics of it in a day.
+Markyroson r/homenetworking should become your new friend
+WoodysGamertag You are gifted so a day for you would take us regular folk about a week but still I plan on doing it anyway in the future
hey woody. How do you interface your sound board to your computer? would love to see an in-depth audio setup video
Woody, you're beard makes you look a lot like Patrick Roy who also grew a beard this year.
"Not A Space Agency" "Nassholes"
You should look into one of those steel series desk mats/mouse pads! Save the bottom of your mouse
everything is so dusty my allergies are acting up just watching this lol

I have the urge to dust everything in this room.
Woody what type of projector do you have brand, specs,? thanks
No Cisco R&S? Do you know something we don't?1 Is Cisco in line with NSA? Is there a cover up between Cisco and Juniper?! #conspiracytheories
What boom scissor arms mic stands does Woody own? I tried looking them up, but can't seem to find them. 13:15
+TheIndianAmigo watch the house tour, its at the end
Thank you Tom Moule
Woody what headphones are those that you use?
+Firestar911 I'm not sure what exactly they are but they are from AKG, maybe hsc271 or hsd271.
I really bothers me that the bezels on those screens aren't even
