There's nothing like playing a specimen fish on a centre-pin, the control you have over how much drag you apply is pure thumb work. He needs to try trotting swims on a river with it next :)
I've exclusively used a pin for over 15 years now. float, ledger etc. everything. even for carp when I lives where there was carp. nothing like hauling in over 30 lbs of a carp on 4lb line with a Pin reel. they are quite spendy though in the USA.
Nice video Tom 🎣👍. Now try the same setup, in the summer. With floating surface baits 🤪, knuckle bustting fun . I use a 7/8wt fly rod, for carp and pike. The takes can be savage, & the runs can take you down to your backing line 😲

Fun aren't they? Ideal for close range fishing.
Yeah he had trouble casting it maybe we will do a another one margin fishing
