    I cant understand why ppl always complain abt living abroad by enjoying luxury life. I stay in usa for 8 yrs. Here i can say the student education is free till 12th grade. If both husband and wife earning they will earn more than 12000 dollars per month. Instead of hiring a help they invest their money in million dollar houses. Instead of getting 1 house they buy 2 house, bmw car mostly 2 cars with high end model. In usa there is wage regulation which has to be followed. In india ppl exploit maids by giving them low salary which i feel is unfair. Moreover there is no family politics when we stay in usa. Depending on parents to pamper us i feel its unfair. Am in 30 s after babies i feel i need my personal space. Parents must in be 60s they need to be freed from our emotional turmoil. Its our life we need to take care. As well as support our parents. I see so many indian women in usa just bring their parents here to babysit their babies which i feel is vry bad

      @@ranisankar2120Fyi nobody is living with inlaws in india too. Ppl keep their parents only to babysit their kids.i can say it proudly am not doing it. They spend 30 yrs to take care of us let them live peacefully after getting us married. I know so many ppl who wants to be pampered like dads little princess. Here in usa ppl doesnt depend upon others. They feel its their responsibility to care of their family. My inlaws come here to usa spend time with us. Am not like you 😌.
      Here i was trying to convey the creator is making the younger generation ppl scared by saying silly things like rasam, sambar, zomato etc. In usa also we have friends we provide food when they are not well and also so many homemade catering services are here to cook food. Ppl always compare dollar to rupees which is not sensible

      Correctly pointed out @godiseverywhere, parents at their old age they need medical facilities which we cannot give here without insurance. Yes parents want child to go study earn marry and have kids. But to say that you asked for it and so be my cleaner doesn’t sound correct. My parents are happy to serve me even today at the native place where they the comfort to organize, arrange and spend. Here for everything they have to depend on us. Also if US is so bad then why stay just to elevate your financial situation. Also the husband in this video seem to little more empathetic of all the stakeholders. Wife seem to be more focused on their perspective. Also next time when making videos just don’t randomly talk about what could be happening in India right now. If possible interview 80’s and 90s born people and how they raise their family and what are the current challenges in India.

    Hi Sainthavi , I saw both your videos .. true information provided . I came to UK after marriage from Bangalore and took a while to adjust .. I dint know cooking or any house work for that matter , as I was pampered at home and worked in IT , I think it was more difficult for my husband to train me and bring me to the mindset that we have to do everything on our own . We’ve had multitude fights over this … all the parents and Girls must know the reality of living abroad , everyone thinks it is as shown in the movies , like a dream world .. but reality is different. Hope people watch this and realise and make an informed decision .

    Hi, nice video. I also would like to say that in most states in the U.S., to live in a nice home and to raise 2 kids to buy needed things for them and to save for college which is very expensive you need 2 incomes. 1 as a disposable income and the other for mortgage and other main expenses unless the husband is a doctor or running a profitable business. Even with 1 normal decent income , you can have only a certain life style. Plus the job uncertainty especially in the U.S. and you cannot live here without medical insurance. So, for these reasons many women have to work not because they cannot afford to stay home.

    There are 2 issues here.1.Having career,family and living in India ,like millions of others
    2.Going abroad for higher education,career and living with husband/wife and children like a few lakhs (no.increasing over the years)
    In both the scenarios there are expectations , achievements to celebrate, challenges / hurdles to overcome.மொத்ததில்- இக்கரைக்கு அக்கரை பச்சை.If you want to gain something you might be ready to loose certain things .That's how life works.As rightly said ,happiness and contenment can be achived by sharing and caring with life partner.
    Interesting to watch your videos. Please cover specific topics each week- income-expenditure/savings,medical facilities (pros too ,not just cons), own house/reneted, school /college education etc..

    I am sorry if you find my comment unrelatable but this is my take on it. After listening to you speak, I realized one thing. Your point is that there is cheap help available back home. It's true this is not available in USA and never will be. I am so glad it isn't either. Back home the labour laws are bad. They don't ensure people get paid minimum wage for being house help, driver, gardener.. this is so unfair. Your perspective is for educated middle class people who make more money than the common man and often seek help from the poor for less wages. But in USA there is wage control. If you get a cleaner you will pay for their work's worth, you will treat them well. That's the beauty of the US society. It's the mindset and how you look at it.
    I know people who came recently complain of the Canadian health care and wait times. They could afford to see a doctor back home in minutes. That isn't the case for everyone. The common man wouldn't have the funds back home to make this comment. It's all perspective. Also, if you settle for many years abroad we have to start thinking like people around us, not NRI's. I have lived 23+ years in Canada. My daughter is 18. We are about the same age group I suppose. I am not going to chase my kids to get married, have kids and definitely not going to make my life revolve around them. I feel like the younger people coming in are also very smart and are adapting well. Many of them have chosen not to have kids and are raising pets. That's new but welcoming. Social media has educated them. They can live together or separate if life doesn't work. No judgement there.

      True. When people complain about living abroad their main point is labor is expensive. In India labor class lives in slums. If you believe hard working people should live a decent life your perspective about living overseas changes.

    • @thakshak6519
      @thakshak6519 Před 6 měsíci +2

      @@kayk7207 exactly. Here we can hire people to come and clean. They have so many rules and they charge $$. I think its only fair, and its another job just like anything we do. You can hire people to do any house help, drive cars or anything in US too, only thing you will be paying the minimum wage and you have to treat them well. It always breaks my heart when people go to India from abroad and get all the strenuous jobs done by people around for so little. That's what makes this country beautiful, you pay the price or you learn to do it yourself.
      In India they only value academics and the people who earn through that, but in USA, your job, your education is just another designation. You treat everyone well and everyone equally and no one cares about your house or car. Only the Indian community goes around flaunting their house, car and jewellery. Americans don't really care. The funny part is half the Indian kids after seeing all this refuse to marry anyone from Indian origin. Thats the cherry on the cake.

    • @durairajan9825
      @durairajan9825 Před 3 měsíci

      Do not compare the maid job here and US. Here it is more than the minimumwage they are getting. Here also monthly salary paid liberally for minimum work hour. Compare the quality of work. I feel their work efficiency better in America. Here every house maid is treated as their family. Do not think they are exploited here. Boss and employee relationship there. Here everyone is treated as their family. India as always used to filled with emotional bonding not as mechanical bonding as in America. Doller is not needed. Happiness is here.

    • @thakshak6519
      @thakshak6519 Před 3 měsíci

      @@durairajan9825 do you work as a maid in India? how can you speak for people who are underprivileged? If they are sick and cannot come to work, how do their home owners treat them? You can give a fake story that you treat home helpers well in India, they only know so much. There is a big population under the poverty line and there is no regulation for their pay. How do you think they are treated then? Emotional bonding is worth $$$??? No matter where you live if people aren't paid well for the job they do, that's not okay. Cheap labour is a crime.

    I am sorry, but your video is just lacking gratitude in every angle. You have a good life, something people back home don't. Don't keep comparing to Swiggy and Zomato.. it will be a few years before they realise what damage this has done to their health. Why are you paying $20 for Rasam when you are sick? What do Americans eat when they are sick? It is all about choices? Once you develop a sense of gratitude for like abroad and full immense yourself, you live life better. Your kids are not asking for rice and curry every day. They won't expect traditional connect, trips to homeland. It's all for your personal satisfaction. Its all because you want to be somewhere else. So if you are battling your happiness this is because of the lack of gratitude for what you have. You are earning in dollars. You have a better spending capacity, be thankful for that. Even today you can throw this life away and go back home and settle. Again, bbe thankful for that. The younger people coming in are way smarter. Many of them will not have kids to be a SAHM. They will raise pets as kids. Times have changed. They will sperate of things dont work out. It's all about choices. I see a lot of indian women who dress traditional, cook traditional food daily, gossip with other ladies 24/7, enjoy all the riches of the foreign world and then complain that Indians back home have it better. Like seriously?? First adapt, change yourself to accept the lifestyle. Eat healthier, exercise often, keep your mental and physical health under check. You can't sit in USA, eat rice everyday, watch Tamil movies every weekend only socialise with Indians and feel American. I am sorry this is what a newcomer would live like. Not a veteran.

    Dear Sainthavi, firstly I want to appreciate the nature of your videos and the transparency in your lifestyle (both, martial and maternal) that is refreshing to watch. Personally, I love your practical nature and inclusivity in how you and Vinod conduct your life with the boys and your vlogs are a representation of that.
    I loved your take on allowing the kids experience everything in moderation, having a liberal outlook on personal choices ably partnered by Vinod.
    In the context of this video, I see that couples who immigrate from a small town lifestyle driven by necessity cope better than people who move from Indian Metros who have been born into Upper middle class families that enjoy certain amenities and services which ends up luxury in the US. Also it is very difficult to find your village, supprt group here if you are not chasing the American dream above all else.
    Again, I love listening to you and Vinod as a mother of a 14 yr old and 11 yr old and so many of your experiences have educated and opened my world so much. Keep vlogging. ❤

    Please include the huge daycare expenses here and the difficulty in getting medical appointments. I never knew it before coming here . I had N number of instances in which my health issues got cured by itself before the doctor appointment date . The difficulty in buying generic prescription medication from pharmacy , waiting for doctors appointment date with home remedies.

    Hello San you were 200% correct whatever you said . I don’t really understand how people correctly misunderstand such a brutally honest statement. Always some people like fake things . People please understand it’s not India vs America . It’s expectation vs reality Her whole point is to create awareness about the ground reality of US life for the new comers not for the ones who have faced all the struggles and have been successful here .many people including myself thought US as heaven like shown in GVM movies but in reality if you are starting from scratch you have to face lots of struggles from the commute via car pool, running to Indian stores n Walmart n Costco saving and counting money do your own household works etc. vs in India if you are in a middle class still you have more sophisticated lifestyle . Of course in US over a period of time when you gain experience or you get used to this kind of lifestyle then you are all set .

    Why are Indian ladies finding managing home and feeding the family so difficult because we stick on to the same dosa, idly and other things where ever we go. Look around your American neighbours they don’t spend too much time on food and are healthier than most of the Indian ladies ( they can hike a mountain ) our Indian staple is not as healthy as we proudly think . Our Indian ladies will be really empowered when we learn to put proper protein , carbs and fibre as westerners( grill some fish or chicken, salad and lil amount of carbs) which can be made in 15 minutes. Most of us spoil our next generation also by giving the same time consuming unhealthy Indian food . I have two daughters and I teach them to make a healthy plate with in 10 minutes so that they can focus on their other aspect of life . If I say this many of our fellow Indian ladies get offended. I live in Uk and my girls are very happy with my healthy simple cookings and they are not particular about rasam, sambar etc 😂. True women empowerment comes when you spend less time in kitchen . My perspective

    Maam - surely your perspective seems selfish, outside in. You said it was you and your husband’s decision to move there. Why should your parents suffer for this? When they are sick, it’s basic to expect to you as a son or daughter to be around to atleast admit them in a hospital. Your childcare, on the other hand is YOUR responsibility. You moved there knowing the lifestyle. You think travelling there 24 hours at 50? It is their CHOICE.

    If we stop living an Indian way in a foreign country most of the work is done for example the Indian meals and Indian pooja and other things are too complicated . I focus on my family’s health. Regular exercise and kids education. Not much of tradition followed and life comparatively easy.. look at the way English ladies are managing. They don’t spend much time in kitchen. Follow that and half of the problem is solved

    U want only benefits of staying abroad without any hardships .. every one has a choice and u made yours. Parents need not take care of your kids and help you after a certain age...but you as their child definitely have responsibility to your parents...thats the least you can do to them ...coz they will not leave you on streets or give you up for adoption like most Americans do 8f they can't afford children..
