Chapter 03: As a society our traditions and customs are shaped strongly based on geography and living conditions. The Kaani tribe has unique traditions and social practices. Kaani people speak ‘Kaani Pasai', which is a unique dialect in Tamil. Their system of governance consists of Moottu Kaani - the chief of the village, Vizhi Kaani- the administrator, Moodhavan - an expert farmer and Pilathi - a physician
