Best video test of rekordbox lighting so far! I think Pioneer should connect all rekordbox lighting users so they can share their light configuration because it's too much work if you have to analyse every track for perfect light effects. If you know better software to automatically controll lights, please let me know. Waiting for further videos :)

Definitely the best demo of this software and creative use of some pretty run of the mill kit, I'm wondering if it will ever a DMX visualiser - how do you know how to plan a show if you can't see cues? Can you use hotcues for macros? I guess you could probably somehow with a load of bank of hotcue "pages" you could maybe… send just light colour data to the fixtures, but then it still seems really really ropey.
But yeah some good results when you tighten it up against a track though. I hope maybe Rekordbox decide maybe in future to include a 2d/3d grid + visualiser… Hmm. Annoying as it's hard to basically put together a re-record. LDs seem to spend ages on tracks so I'm thinking if the lights had presets for club etc that were pretty decent in your say 100+ set, you could fix up the messed up bits... but then if you change the rig then you are pretty much programming a lightshow without any simple way of just mapping colours or whatever, maybe they'll have a lighting desk wing thing like Pioneer's old FX units, but that would be kind of going against the whole "lets put a CDJ system together that is portable".
Maybe you could get some external MIDI thing but at that point, would there not be a cheaper way to send timecode to your own machine using a more mature lighting desk and use a drum machine or something with loads of buttons essentially to map this to be useful?
The only real problem with the automated shows is they were very keen on like full on dimmer on the LED PARs on the T-Bar that was really distracting, but sometimes there was really good use of the wash, so its like the PARs need a bit more... of the wash data sent to it?!!
God knows. But would be an interesting project!!!!!!
    Fab video mate.

It seems like it's not utilizing the moving heads very well at all. Like they're just on a random scene set inside the unit when you get it on Day 1, and just using the mic inside the would be better. I've noticed this on every video I've seen so far. Is this because you're using a Mid or Low Mood and a High mood would get them dancing better? Either way, nice work on the video, thanks for putting in the work.
Edit: Watched to the end, nice objective commentary, and the "fix" at the end nailed it. Nice job. Even with manually adjusting most, if not all, songs, it still seems like a huge time saver even in its current state. Cool cool, probably sold.

using same PC for DMX, DJing, HDMI visuals, streaming is possible for a one man show, but if you're setting up for multiple DJ's a separate computer with dmx software, resolume , OBS would be better. i tried to do it all with one MacBook pro and it took up way too much CPU. its a good idea i hope it becomes simplified and open with any usb dmx adapter.

DJ OCCULT agreed. Presently it’s only good for the computer that’s running rekordbox i would love for them to open up to on the fly analysis and/or generate dmx from audio from CDJs for example. Yes it is taxing on the cpu. Rekordbox overall does cause high cpu usage resulting in fans blaring at high RPM snd battery drain should you forgot your adapter!

Unfortunately It re-confirmed my previous thoughts about the product which is very unfortunate as I like Pioneer dj a lot...
I was really hoping that Pioneer will be making that product comparable to the current market leaders but sadly it continue to be a piece of crap even after the latest ver 6 update. It's so overpriced and offers nothing but entry level visual effects.
Again it's unfortunate but it appears that for the enforceable future the better choice will be Airstream Bridge, DMX 3.0 or Light rider.
