  • Welcome to Dig It Detecting🙂
    Today we will be Metal Detecting a skatepark and recreation reserve with the Equinox 800. Here we will be mainly focusing just on the $1 & $2 gold coins!
    Now this is not the easiest site to work as it is very trashy, also plenty of EMI to contend with whilst we dig.
    However in this video we will give a run down and show what settings I will be using...and just how easy it can be to make a bit of money finding those coins!
    I am certain that this will definitely help you find more of those gold coins on that next hunt also💰

    Those V energy drink lids as well, they ring up exactly like a goldie as well. I've hit parks in Sydney where they are everywhere and you have to dig all of them to get the goldies.

    Very informative video! My guess as to the Dunlop Tyre VIP tag is that you put it on your key ring with your car keys. The tag woulf be registered to your name and phone number. If someone were to find your keys and bring it back to a Dunlop dealer, the dealer could call you and get your keys back to you.

    Solid coin hunt outing. The settings info helped, but left me wondering about the "advanced" you had set for tone breaks, target tones, tone volume, etc.? Also, I think I am late on the detect-ed pouch! Sold out everywhere. Must be great. Any leads on one would be nice too. All the best to you.

      And yes the Detect-Ed Pouches are amazing, this one has been great to use over the years. They certainly are very popular, I highly recommend them🙂

    G’day Mate
    Do you have an opinion on the Equinox 800 against the Deus11
    There seems to be a considerable amount of liking of the Deus now, which brings me to a more experienced thought of Minelab bringing out a more advanced Equinox
    Minelab have for many years now worked like this
    I have decades of gold detection experience, and for a considerable number of years mine lab would bring out a new top of the range detector every 18 -24 months which was annoying because of the additional costs to professional detectorist
    It’s called business and the advancement of technology but it hits our hip pocket
    Regards

    1. great vid, good to know that i can skip over some targets as well as knowing the number for coins.
    2. why does this guy not have more than 2k subs, this is great and i subbed
    3. quite often when i am using my equinox 800 i will be digging for ages and the target seems to move. i don't own a handheld pinpointer as i am quite new, would investing in one make all the difference? if so, what type is good for it's price?
    cheers!

    • @DigItDetecting
      @DigItDetecting  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks so much @Spencer Johnson I am really glad you enjoyed watching this video mate. There is so many neat tricks to learn with the Minelab Equinox 800 that can be so helpful.
      CZcams is definitley a hard platform to master and gain engagement to but it slowly seems to be taking off now and I am building more and more subs everyday🙂 Also thanks heaps for the Sub mate, I really appreciate your support👍👍
      And yes a pinpointer is nearly a must have when out detecting for coins and relics. It helps reduce your recovery speed time making it so much easier to locate target in the hole straight away.
      I would suggest purchasing either the Minelab 35-PRO FIND or even the Xp Mi4 is a great little handheld unit to. They are both very similar in capability but the XP definitley has a few nice options, including a built in internal battery which is rechargeable. Unlike the 35 pro that uses the 9v.
      I shared a video not to long ago showing both my pinpointers and the rest of my equipment used when out detecting. Best of luck and I hope it helps.

    What would normally ring up at 30 -35 ? Just curious I’m new at this and when I dig those targets it ends up being an old metal pipe or rusty object

    • @DigItDetecting
      @DigItDetecting  Před 3 lety +1

      To be honest Lisa it can be a range of different items, however generally the higher the TID, then the more conductive the item is...such as copper, brass, alloy etc but it can be tricky as sometimes even a big buried sheet of lead or tin can ring up as a high TID also. Generally if its a short sharp high tone though, you can count on it being a coin or even better a ring🙂 Sometimes I just have to dig those curious targets⛏

    • @craigbosko2229
      @craigbosko2229 Před 2 lety +1

      There should be or might be a separate tone on your detector for IRON which is in steel pipe. You might get a single tone or double tone at the same time, picking up the iron and and another kind of material both at the same time.

    • @craigbosko2229
      @craigbosko2229 Před 2 lety +1

      Also, if your hitting IRON, it might/should also show up on your meter. I'VE never used a MINELABE EQUINOX 800 BEFORE BUT I've been watching them being used on you-tube and they look alot easier to use than alot of the other one's. The one that I've been using and I've had it for over a month and a half is the, " GARRETT AT MAX ".

    @Mohammad-obaidat-72 Před 2 lety

    I think that the recovery speed should be slow in order to get a better depth..Do you have another way to increase the depth ?

    • @DigItDetecting
      @DigItDetecting  Před 2 lety

      Over the past 5 years using the Equinox 800 @abood obaidat I have never really had to much of an issue with depth and finding targets quite deep down.
      I also like to swing quick when I hunt so a higher recovery speed set to 7-8 works well for me.
      You are definitely right though, you could always drop that recovery speed down a little maybe to 4-5 and gain that little bit extra depth. You would just have to swing slower as you detect, making sure to not miss any signals.
      Best of luck and happy hunting out there mate👍⛏️

      Sometimes you will find that when laying down your pinpointer, there will be other metal targets that its hitting on also, therefore sending it crazy mate. Also the 35 pro on the highest setting can have a mind of its own sometimes and go nuts for no reason.
