He looked good against Santos IMO. He was too reckless in his past fights and was attempting to stay composed and fight smart. Yeah he probably went too far in that direction but if he can find that middle ground between reckless and how he fought Santos then he’ll be future champ material. Not every fight needs to be a banger, as Izzy has shown us, some times elite striking can be pretty boring.

They’ve been doing more and more catchweight fights recently, I wonder if they’re going to ever genuinely think about adding that 165 class or if they’re just more open to it now, because in the past they’ve tried as much as they could to make people make the way even if it’s not really that feasible but now they’ve been doing more and more catchweight face, I mean just in the past couple weeks there’s been like three or four. Which doesn’t seem like a lot but do you have see really doesn’t like doing that sort of thing
You've got to consider how many people the division would consist of, and if it makes sense to have an extra division for them. Like, for example, if there's only 5 guys in, how's that supposed to work? (Everyone is always top 5, no effort's needed to come to the top, it's always the same couple guys fighting, and you want an extra belt for that?)
On the other hand, if there's say a couple dozen guys in, how much did it drain the surrounding divisions?
(Therefore, if stuff's good enough as it is right now, better don't "fix" anything.)
Uncle Dana will never have it any other way than it is now. Covid helped him lighten up on short notice catchweight bouts but that’s probably the only reason. He has said it multiple times it will never happen.
