Not to rain on the parade, but seatbelts are designed to go across the waist. By placing the belt behind the gun, you are shifting that belt above your hips, thus altering where it would be in the event of a crash. Instead of constricting your waist/hips, in a crash, which tend to be stiff, it's now gonna constrict your soft subtle belly and all the easily rupture-able intestines and organs within. So rather than walking away from the crash with a black/blue bruise from your gun being jammed into you, you instead get to maybe walk away with internal hemorrhaging instead. TL,DR: Wear your seatbelt where it's intended to be worn, which is across your waist at the belt-line with the gun behind it.

I have used my thumb to release the gun from the holster when in a pack then drop my thumb to complete the grip.

If you needed to get out of the vehicle quickly, that seat belt setup will slow you down and possibly get caught on the grip of the gun. I just run the belt over my holster with my shirt tucked behind the holster. Then when I step out, I pull my shirt over.

Clicked like just because of the common sense about positioning a firearm in a vehicle. That was worth about 10 likes. Edit, the commenter regarding the seatbelt is on point too. I was mainly referring to laying a gun on a seat etc.

I agree and do so with the seatbelt and tuck my shirt/hoodie etc behind as well. I don't agree with your method of drawing and re-holstering 😬. I prefer to put my legs straight and lifting my ass off the seat essentially standing then drawing so I'm not muzzling myself. John C and Neil W from active self protection show how to do this very well on active self protection extra about a year ago, as well as re-holstering from outside the vehicle... But hey, to each their own. I just prefer not to flag myself. Good video though 👍👍🤘

Might be better. Depends what your situation is. I rarely carry in a fanny pack but if it’s all I got I’ll make it work

What would you recommend for someone traveling to work that can’t carry while at work? Carrying appendix is fine but then I have to take everything apart before getting out of my vehicle to head into work. Maybe a dash mount?
