The Impossible Burger itself is vegan, but this particular restaurant added cheese, a non-vegan bun (containing milk), and possibly other non-vegan ingredients (e.g. mayonnaise). Other restaurants, such as the Jardiniere in San Francisco, do serve completely vegan Impossible Burgers.

I literally just tried the Impossible burger the other day and I could NOT believe that it was meatless! I called everyone in my family and told them to try it! ITS INCREDIBLE!! As a vegetarian its SOMETIMES hard to find really good veggie burgers so when I discovered this jem, its so hard to find anything comparable! ITS SOOO DELICIOUS!
I would LOVE to try that! I've been vegetarian all of my life, so I don't even know what real meat tastes like.
what i dont understand is why ppl gotta be assholes about being or not being vegan. you do you. just let the vegans live their life. if it tastes good then who cares? if it tastes good and is good for you, then even better. i eat loads of vegan snacks and im not vegan. i just eat it cuz i like it, and it makes me happy to know that its not only good for me but good for the environment too.

my in laws that I live with are vegan,so I try alot of their food and too be honest a lot of it is pretty good

Low fat and low calorie, little to no preservatives, plus, they aren't infused with hormones and antibiotics.
This burger probably has more protein in it than average meat actually but its laced with coconut oil which is high in saturated fats. Other than that its pretty healthy.

Nessa Cheriee look in your supermarket freezer, Morningstar farms,Boca,etc, makes meat substitutes, including bacon and sausage.Some are even vegan. Or better yet, make your own.Tons of vegan bacon recipes on CZcams or Google

More on that: in the practical sense the idea that meat is even objectively better is a sham. It takes a lot more resources to make it, a lot more money to buy it, a lot more time to prepare it and you get less nutrition from it. Meanwhile for dinner tonight I bought some cumin, garlic, onions, black beans, red beans, canned corn and canned tomatos for about 8 dollars and 10 minutes of cooking and that was enough for me and three other people.

they use hemoglobin which is a molecule extracted from fermented yeast that mimics the same molecule that's found in animal blood
They draw the molecule heme from roots of soy plants which is why it tastes similar to animal blood in burgers and meat because the taste comes from iron which is high in heme. No real blood needed.

If you haven't read how this is made, you really should. It's made from heme from soy beans! Heme, being a part of blood, is what makes beef taste like beef. It's really cool and I've been wanting to try it for a long time!

Tried it yesterday. It is indeed pretty good. If you concentrate, you can taste some flavors that differ from that of a real burger but I think it's overall equally good.
I kind of wish they would have discussed what the ingredients were - specifically what makes it taste like real meat - but also where to find it. I've never even heard of Impossible Foods and had to google it.

TheDesius lmao no. The vegan one isn't just the "bad parts" of a hamburger. Hamburgers are loaded with cholesterol and sat fat. It has a little bit of vitamins (which you can easily get from something without so much fat and cholesterol ). I'm not sure what this vegan burger is made out of but most is made out of soy, beans, or veggies. Which is obviously way healthier than a hamburger.

I am sooooo jealous! I've been a vegetarian for a long time now, but because I live in a small city in Northern Ontario, Canada, my non-meat choices are very limited. I live on a fixed income so it's a good thing I cook from scratch, but I would definitely splurge on this burger.

I've had this burger, it's fantastic. The only issue is price. Generally the places that sell the Impossible Burger price it around $15. However the actually burger costs ~$40 to make. They are selling it at a loss simply as a campaign to show that it's possible to make something like this at all, to educate the masses so to speak. When they are able to make the price actually reasonable in production and sales THEN it will be a game changer.
It's clear by some of these comments that some people don't know squat about the planet they live on and the issues that threaten their future. GUYS. Please educate yourselves about your own planet. Care for your future, especially now that it has become very clear the current administration is not going to do that for you.

Honestly, The Impossible Burger is the best plant-based Burger I've ever eaten! I grew up on Whoppers like most people, and you absolutely cannot tell the difference. The texture is right on the taste is right on. Absolutely phenomenal. Also one cow Burger takes a thousand gallons of water to waste. We don't have to waste all that water now, also we don't have to put up with all their pee and poop, and most importantly we don't have to torture, kill, dismember innocent animals. What a win-win!
