Great first car Hollie. Enjoy the freedom of having your own transport. Looks in lovely condition. You will certainly get used to driving it very quickly.
What a lovely little car. My first car, way back in 1970, was a 1964 Austin Mini Traveller with all the "shooting brake" woodwork and double rear doors bought after owning a 1959 Lambretta scooter for a couple of years. Take care when driving.
My dad was born in 1959 and passed in 1977, his first car was apparently a Morris minor. When I looked it up I laughed at it. Back then I suppose cars that had that design were considered the "norm".
Congrats on your new car! Just wanted to say when you wash the car, do it from the top to bottom i.e. wheels last. This is because all the grit and stones are usually on the wheels or near bottom of the car. You could get them in your sponge (you'll barely see them) and scratch the paintwork or glass.
The stalling will be gone in no time honestly. I've been driving 15yrs and last cpl of cars were diesel...switched to a petrol and was stalling it all over the place for a couple of weeks until I learned I have to give it some beans!
Older cars don’t necessarily have a higher biting point, the clutch may need adjusting or it’s on its way out. Black is probably the best looking colour for a car but it will never be clean. I think you’ve picked the perfect first car👍👍👍👍
I hope its not 😂 I think it just feels really high for me because my instructors cars bite was so incredibly low. I wasn’t planning on getting a black car but now I love the black. Probably not ideal when summer comes round though with the heat 😂 But very impossible to keep clean this time of year!
Correct. I drove a loan car 2 months ago whilst my car was having a gearbox service. It was a 2007 Mini Cooper S. Just over 110k on the clock with a VERY heavy clutch. About 1 month later I then drove a work colleague's car, just to move it for her, it was a 2006 mini with around 45k on the clock. The clutch was as light as anything, almost as light as a brand new car and I was quite surprised.
My daughter just bought an older 1.4 Peugeot 207 (2009) with a high clutch, but checking the forums, these clutches were high on production. The bite is high, and even new clutches are high in many cars, so there’s not necessarily an issue, just the car has a high clutch regardless. Enjoy your new car! 😊
Great first car. I had an old mini, it cut out in the rain! I had 2 fords in the part & both had a lovely gear box. I now buy autos makes driving so much more comfortable to drive. You may switch in time once you’ve driven a manual for a few years. I do get an opportunity to drive my sons manual & I realise omg I love my auto☺️ I hope you enjoy your new car Holly drive safe xx
Great little car Holly, well done, have wheels will travel 😊, hope you enjoy and have safe journeys wherever you go. Our Eldest Granddaughter who was 17 on the 1st Feb,is having her 1st driving lesson,😮, Hope you had a fab birthday, hope you received your card from us. Your mums cake looked amazing. Take care sweetheart. Great sharing your vlog, bye for now big hugs 🤗 xxx
Hi holly! First time viewer i just want to tell you that you will love your car!! Yes might feel some bumps here and there but time will learn that your own car drives the best!! Have fun and be proud of what you have even though it is not the vw polo!!! (Yet!!!)
Congratulations 🎊 on your first car - the Ford KA is not a bad choice , I've got my driving test in a week , and my car is toyota yaris premium edition 2024 can't wait to drive independently 😊
Insurance companies are out to scam all us young drivers. The quotes I had been getting were shocking. I managed to find a slightly cheaper one in the end but still very very costly 😬
I got royally scammed by my insurance company. I'm turning 29 in 2 months time. Been driving 11 years (Since January 2013). I completed Pass Plus to "Exceeded" grade. I've never had any points, bans or disqualifications. My BMW was parked outside my house just under 1 year ago when I returned from a night shift and went to bed (I work in the emergency services). It was then struck by a delivery driver who didn't leave any details or knock on the door. Ironically after hitting my parked car he delivers to my address but simply puts the parcel on the doorstep and walks off, he doesn't ring the doorbell or knock (to deliver the parcel OR to tell me he's hit my car). He drives off. He is never traced as the CCTV doesn't capture a vehicle reg. Neighbour's CCTV doesn't capture it clearly either. I was forced to pay my £550 excess. My car was in the garage for almost an entire month. The car was £1,750 to insure from December 2022 when I got it, to December 2023. Having just renewed the policy and after this incident which was deemed "my fault" as the driver was never traced, my premium has skyrocketed to £4,450! Insurance really does grind my gears sometimes, if you'll excuse the pun. To this day I'm still trying to reclaim my £550 excess for the repair through a motoring legal firm.
Thanks for showing us your new car👍 I like it🙂 My first car was a Ford Escort which was bigger than your car. I do think along with the Fiat 500 a Ford KA is a great first car👍 Well done getting yours🙂
That's a decent choice for a 1st car - now you just need to give it a pet name 😁 The best first car is anything that doesn't break down. Mine was a £1000 Cortina. Drove it at warp speed everywhere, and promptly wrote it off within a few weeks, lol. A harsh lesson learned which has proved invaluable over the years. 👍
Fabulous car Holly 🚘 in the 30+ years that I've been driving I've not had a car as nice as that ❤ I drove my mum's car when I first past my test - had a minor ding a couple weeks later 🙄 Get on the road Holly and build up your confidence, there will be no stopping you 🚘 I have my mobile phone connected to my car's Bluetooth but I have to say, my phone stays in my handbag, no call is that important that I need to answer it while driving. Happy driving Holly 🚘
Thank you! Yeah a lot of people drive their family members vehicles instead of their own when they pass which is handy money wise and it’s some peoples only option
Congratulations Holly on your new motor, also don't be intimidated by other drivers, they had to learn at some point, if you stall the car, let them wait, sod em. Also get yourself a steering lock, the one that goes all around the wheel, yes, its expensive around £150 ish,I think, just to protect your car.
Holly your 1st car🚗 whoooop🎉 You cant go wrong with a Ford, I had Fiesta"s, they are a great drive.and really economical. You will get used to it sooner than you think. I called all my Fords "Betty"😂❤ Safe and happy motoring Holly❤
Congrats on the first car and enjoy! I bought mine when I was 15 and only just sold it a month ago (22 now 🥴😅), there's nothing quite as memorable as your first!
Looks a very good car for someone who has recently passed her test and smaller so more economical to run. My first car was a Skoda Estelle which had the engine in the boot, but it did the job🙂.
Nice little first car, the glossy trim is called piano black, usually kept for the top of the range or sporty model in the range models. not really seen many MK2 ford KA's in black so quite a rare colour, as an mot tester i see mostly read, blue, silver and white ones. The best bit of advice i will give you though is, get the timing/cambelt (they are the same thing some people say timing belt, some say cambelt) replaced, if it snaps it wrecks the engine. Replacing it will give thousends of miles of worry free driving, and it cheap enough to get done, you should get change from about £300. Forgot to say my first car was a 1989 austin metro, 4 speed gearbox, no power steering, no "modern" brakes" and only 48 brake horse power.
Very nice video of your new car Holly!! Well done giving it a clean by hand.Less scratching of the paintwork and saves you money too 💰Don’t want to admit it as I might be showing my age but my 1st car was a little grey Ford Anglia…They don’t make them like that anymore 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Holly, Watching from Sydney, Australia. Great video, you are bringing back all those memories of my first car, a 1984 red Mitsubishi Sigma which I received for my 21st birthday gift back in 1991 👏☀️🌊🏖️😊
Great Choice, good job you didn’t make the mistake like loads of young people who buy expensive cars with high insurance. Enjoy the free, you’ll love it!!!
As I understand Ford patented the quick clear windscreen system that they designed. Pretty much every car has something similar but Ford's one is the best in my experience.
What a fab first car Holly, congratulations! I think you made a great choice and hope you enjoy the independence it will bring you! My first car was a Renault Clio and I now have a Ford Fiesta. I had it from new and it's now 6 years old. I personally love Fords as have also had a Focus in the past. Wishing you happy and safe motoring in your lovely KA!!
Thank you very much ☺️ My mum loved her clio. The ford fiestas are stunning too but I chose a ka instead due to the size being more ideal and cheaper insurance
The Ka feels real sporty for passengers. I've never been a driver but, sitting in the back of a Ka it really feels like you're on rails and the handling seems great
Brilliant car video Holly!! Really enjoyed everything about it :) If possible in the future, could you do a video revving up your car? So we can hear how it sounds!! 😁
Well done holly, look after ur car and car look after you. The black surrounding on the inside is called ‘piano black’ its very fragile to wipe and requires very soft detail cloth to keep it clean. Wash your car with wash mitts and not sponge, it’s better for the paint.
Wow, Holly...first car! Well done you. I actually can't remember mine!!... but I know I did love a little red mini I had way back when & some old Ford Escorts. Just enjoy it all Holly. You have done so well. No more buses!! Yay! x J x
That was the best thing I found about driving. No more being a burden on the parents having to get lifts everywhere. I remember my very first drive on my own after I passed like it was yesterday, and it was 11 years ago. I literally drove down to the shops and back.
Congratulations not only on passing your test but on getting your first car. You will always remember your first car and your new found freedom. Happy motoring.
A bit of advice on washing your car… get a microfibre cloth from any supermarket for around £2 and use that rather than a sponge, it won’t scratch your paint but a sponge will… not badly but still it’ll be better off in the long run :)
Looking for a first car for my son and this has given me another car to look at. Many thanks. P.s. you can get little steps with rubber feet and deck so you can reach the roof to clean it and the rubber feet stop it slipping. My first car was an old Ford Escort in the 90s. 👍
Cute! Titanium trim level as well. The shiny black is called piano black. I had it in my Astra which felt like luxury after I had my first car which was a mk1 KA. The mk1 KA was awesome, I miss that little thing. It’s worlds apart from my Ford Focus Estate. I liked the mo2 KA as well, my mom had one for several years and I drove it a few times.
Looks like a great car for your first car. A phone holder is a good idea. The shiny black inside is known as piano black, because the black grand pianos are a similar high gloss black colour.
My first car was, Citroen C1, small and great for being my first. I think the Ka and C1 or any small car will be brilliant first cars for people who just passed. I now own Corsa 2023 plate and looking back to C1, I have made a big step which u can do n a few years. Keep to your Ka for 1-2 years getting u used to the road.
Nice little car 👍The finish on the shiny black interior trim is usually called "piano black". Also you could've just gotten an automatic and avoided stalling.
Recommended to buckets, wash then rinse buckets. Along with some mitts. But great effort and good feeling getting your first car. Wee minter too, with the ford KA. Its small and simple which honestly, you can service it yourself for about £50, be confident and youll save hundreds
Ford Pumas great cars theres a reason they were the highest sold car last year, thats what i learnt in made pulling away a breeze with the mild hybrid engine.
Hi I just stumbled on your video, from CZcams algorithm, i clean cars on a regular basis, I would suggest an alloy wheel cleaner and alloy wheels cleaner brush, which can be bought cheap, also a cheap car wash mit and get another bucket, so you have 2 buckets one for car soap and one with clean water and rinse off the car mit in the clean water, so soapy water bucket don't get dirt in it, buy a microfibre drying towel, when drying the car get some spray wax or a drying aid like cheap demon shine, I hope this helps, get all these from b&m, theres a kit in B&m with wheel cleaning brush, mit, drying towel for around £6, you can buy a demon car cleaning kit, which has wheel cleaner, car shampoo, tire shine, demon shine, super active cleaner for interior, good little cheap kit, especially when doing your own car, I've used it on numerous occasions, happy driving I've just sub, sorry for the long comment I just like helping people out
Hi lovely, i just got my first car the other day too (Fiat 500 X), i got some lovelt girly bits like daisies for my air vents and a nice phone holder, have a wee look on there and see if you can grab some cheap bits to make your car feel more girly if you wish 💜 also with the stalling omg, im the exact same haha, my engine is a 1.4 and suchba high bite and the car is also a start stop which im not used to, we'll both get there with a little bit of time for sure 💜
I’m still driving my first car. It’s a 2014 VW UP! and I’ve had it for 2 years, it gets me from a to b and I can just about fit all my tools in it (I’m a carpenter btw)
Great choice Holly. Very classy. Only bugbear will you will find yourself washing it all the time as black is a B****r to keep clean. I have had 3 black cars and always swore I would never have another black car after my first but they look sooooo good when clean !!!!! By the way I think they call your interior paint " piano black " ?
nice car, just a little tip and mabye some folks already said it (over 200 comments so i wont read them all), but wash the big surfaces first, with lots of clean water and no pressure on the sponge, that prevents sand from scratching, then clean the little bits and when your done chuck a few buckets of warm water with cup of cheap cleaning vinegar in it to remove scale.
Great first car, many happy miles! You may not care about this, but I love washing cars. Two bucket method is best and leave your alloys till last if you don't have extra microfibres ✨ enjoy your car 😊
congrats on your first car , i have just got mine this weekend , i got a 2010 Ford Fiesta 1.2L , like you im getting used to the biting point at the moment, its a nice car though :) great vid Holly :)
Very nice, holly.I thought it was a Ford fiesta at first. We get fiesta and focus back home in Australia, but the last Ford KA you could get there was in 2001. Also impressed you bought a manual. Most people want an auto these days. Well done, nice one. 👍
Lovely car! Passed my test @ 17 1st car was a (H reg) Fiesta 1 litre 😂😂 If I was to give advice........ Always keep Your distance from the vehicle infront. Keep Left and let the Speed demons overtake. Never drive anywhere without atleast Half a tank of Petrol. Go to the Seaside and return Home when Dark....24hours in a day👍 It's Your Pride and Joy = NOT A TAXI.👍 THE 1ST YEARS NO CLAIMS BONUS IS MOST IMPORTANT = Good Driving👍
Nice one Holly if you like polos you shud look at a seat Leon it’s the same car different name and another very Reliable car is a Toyota Argo my first car was a ford escort mk1 Mexico ..just take ya time Holly don’t let other drivers make you feel under pressure and you will be fine have a Top week lass 🙂🎥✌️
Great little video Holly....KA too lol.. Brilliant first KA to get some mileage in and little black ancients make it stand out from the rest...ans yay pretty cheap and cheerful ish to keep running. My first car lol...in 1978 was my uncle's old Opel Ascona with long gearstick n 1 speaker in middle of parcel shelf lol...cost me £300.. Safe driving x
Aaagh nice car Holly but never ever wash using a sponge,it scratches the paint.Get yourself a lambswool mit,Look forward to seeing your later videos, happy mothering.stay safe.😅😅
So cute Holly your first car what you gonna do with it do some mods maybe remap the engine push it 450hp do some pops and bangs I'll show you How you do it?
Looks like a nice little car you got there Holly, it's based on a fiat 500 my mate has a white one , you shouldn't need the de-icer looks like it's got a front heated quick clear windscreen 👍 My first car was a Nissan Micra in 1988 😂😉
Great video... thanks for sharing. I only passed in October and was learning in a Mercedes-Benz A class. I bought a Ford Fiesta Zetec. I feel like I have had to learn all over again. The FF has a low bite which is great for a new learner. The MB had a high bite which always made me stall. All of the reference points are different for me. No parking assistance of dash display. Use mirrors and obs for reference. Going out alone is a learning curve itself, without the instructor.
Clear nail varnish used to stop small holes in my tights from getting bigger, so should work on that little tear! Lovely first car, KAs are fantastic, was my brothers first car too! Polo might be a bit more to insure for now, so maybe in a few years. I got my first car a few years ago (Fiat 500, cheap insurance and its been cheap to run), but my boyfriend got his yesterday (Mokka). His is a lot newer than mine, so I am worried about the low bite, as I'm used to a high bite 😂
Well done on buying your first car Holly and enjoy the freedom it brings. Take care. 👍
Thank you!
Fabulous holly… I remember my Vauxhall nova like it was yesterday And it was 22 years ago
I had a B reg nova as my first car, 4 gears 1.0 manual choke, When I fitted my 4 mates in, It always struggled to get up any small inclines haha,
Reading these comments makes me miss my little 1.2 Merit. Good memories of my first car! Amazed how much the Vauxhall Nova's have increased in value.
Did it get stolen much? If I recall that was the one you could easily bump start after putting the hazard light switch back in upside down...
Wonderful first car, for a wonderful young lady! Enjoy, and of course, stay safe on the road!
Thank you very much!
Great first car Hollie. Enjoy the freedom of having your own transport. Looks in lovely condition. You will certainly get used to driving it very quickly.

It's worth getting it waxed after cleaning, helps keep the dirt from sticking, rather than needing another wash straight away 👍
Congratulations on your first car. Many happy safe years of driving. She's really a good looking car
Thank you so much!
Its a lovely first car. You should be really proud of yourself. You seem so lovely and have such a good attitude. ❤

You can pach the whole up with some fabric of the same colour and fabric glue jobs a good one Holly.
Or there is an identical whole good front seat on eBay for £50.
Great first car choice holly, you can't go wrong with a ford . And black is always a good selling colour.

A bit of advice on washing your car… get a microfibre cloth from any supermarket for around £2 and use that rather than a sponge, it won’t scratch your paint but a sponge will… not badly but still it’ll be better off in the long run :)
Congratulations to you Holly, you have done so well, wishing you every happiness, safe journeys xxx ❤🥂🍾💐🎉
Thank you so much ☺️
Lovely first car Holly! Congrats on passing your test! My first car was a vauxhall corsa, i loved it! safe driving xx
Thank you! I’ve always liked the corsa’s too
Nice car Holly, well done 👏 🫶
Thank you!
Love the new car Holly congratulations on your getting your 1st car safe driving Holly happy motoring Holly 🙂
Thank you 😁
Looking for a first car for my son and this has given me another car to look at. Many thanks. P.s. you can get little steps with rubber feet and deck so you can reach the roof to clean it and the rubber feet stop it slipping. My first car was an old Ford Escort in the 90s. 👍
Best first car in my opinion in a 6r VW polo 🔥. Great vid hopefully see more vids on Ur ford
Very nice. Enjoy!
Thank you
What a lovely little car and nice of your Nan to get you those nice bits.
Hi Holly enjoy your car and A Belated Happy Birthday🤗🚘🎂
Thank you!
Well done on buying your first car 🚗 🎉 I've still got my first car and I'm 29 now lol 😆 I love my seat arosa
Hows the music system Holly ? you can't beat going for a cruise with the tunes on
Very good actually! Handy it’s already got the Bluetooth too 👌
Good luck in new frist car look forward to any more
Thank you
Lovely car holly safe driving my first car was a Renault Nissan now I have a Ford puma
Ooo very nice
@@HollyLindon a Ford puma is a nice car
Ford Pumas great cars theres a reason they were the highest sold car last year, thats what i learnt in made pulling away a breeze with the mild hybrid engine.
Congratulations on your first car. Very nice!
Thank you!
Hi I just stumbled on your video, from CZcams algorithm, i clean cars on a regular basis, I would suggest an alloy wheel cleaner and alloy wheels cleaner brush, which can be bought cheap, also a cheap car wash mit and get another bucket, so you have 2 buckets one for car soap and one with clean water and rinse off the car mit in the clean water, so soapy water bucket don't get dirt in it, buy a microfibre drying towel, when drying the car get some spray wax or a drying aid like cheap demon shine, I hope this helps, get all these from b&m, theres a kit in B&m with wheel cleaning brush, mit, drying towel for around £6, you can buy a demon car cleaning kit, which has wheel cleaner, car shampoo, tire shine, demon shine, super active cleaner for interior, good little cheap kit, especially when doing your own car, I've used it on numerous occasions, happy driving I've just sub, sorry for the long comment I just like helping people out
Ive heard cheaper wash mits can cause micro scratches on the car,? I use microfibre ones but cheap ones
Congratulations, you got a lovely first car. Safe driving.
Thank you
I’m still driving my first car.
By the way I think they call your interior paint " piano black " ?
congratulations on your first car and looks nice 👍⭐
Thank you!
nice car, just a little tip and mabye some folks already said it (over 200 comments so i wont read them all), but wash the big surfaces first, with lots of clean water and no pressure on the sponge, that prevents sand from scratching, then clean the little bits and when your done chuck a few buckets of warm water with cup of cheap cleaning vinegar in it to remove scale.
Great first car, many happy miles! You may not care about this, but I love washing cars. Two bucket method is best and leave your alloys till last if you don't have extra microfibres ✨ enjoy your car 😊
You can get air con sanitisers which usually get rid of smells, next time your near a halfords have a look its only a few quid.
Good on you but I hate fords have had issues with previous ones hence ford= Fix Or Repair Daily
But anyway well done ❤
Which ford cars did you have?
Congratulations Holly! The KA was my first car too! Cheap to run and maintain. I still have it now. Easy to drive.
congrats on your first car , i have just got mine this weekend , i got a 2010 Ford Fiesta 1.2L , like you im getting used to the biting point at the moment, its a nice car though :) great vid Holly :)
Great first car .
Thank you
Nice one, looks cool
Thank you
Very nice, holly.I thought it was a Ford fiesta at first. We get fiesta and focus back home in Australia, but the last Ford KA you could get there was in 2001. Also impressed you bought a manual. Most people want an auto these days. Well done, nice one. 👍
Lovely car!
Passed my test @ 17
1st car was a (H reg) Fiesta 1 litre 😂😂
If I was to give advice........
Always keep Your distance from the vehicle infront.
Keep Left and let the Speed demons overtake.
Never drive anywhere without atleast Half a tank of Petrol.
Go to the Seaside and return Home when Dark....24hours in a day👍
It's Your Pride and Joy = NOT A TAXI.👍
THE 1ST YEARS NO CLAIMS BONUS IS MOST IMPORTANT = Good Driving👍
Lovely little motor to get you from A to B and congratulations on your first car Holly
You mean Seat Ibiza
Seat ibizas are really good cars same as a polo less cost, just steer clear of the 1.4 engines.. terrible terrible engines
Yeah seat ibizas are similar to the polos, I like them too
Great little video Holly....KA too lol..
Well done for getting yourself mobile at such a young age Holly, just don't become a Taxi for your mates hehe!
Hiya holly, lovely first car, congratulations and enjoy driving your new car and adventure 👍
Aaagh nice car Holly but never ever wash using a sponge,it scratches the paint.Get yourself a lambswool mit,Look forward to seeing your later videos, happy mothering.stay safe.😅😅
Oh no does it? Maybe that’s where all them scratches came from 😅
Jet wash loose dirt off, shampoo with lambswool mitt, rise and dry and voila.😊😊
If everything goes well I should be getting a Ford Fiesta soon for my first car in 3 weeks I can’t wait
Can’t go wrong with a fiesta
Just put some gaffa tape on it .get new seat covers . Same car my granddaughter has x
So cute Holly your first car what you gonna do with it do some mods maybe remap the engine push it 450hp do some pops and bangs I'll show you How you do it?
Looks like a nice little car you got there Holly, it's based on a fiat 500 my mate has a white one , you shouldn't need the de-icer looks like it's got a front heated quick clear windscreen 👍 My first car was a Nissan Micra in 1988 😂😉
Looks so good in the Black trim and Alloys - Enjoy!
I would just use a black sharpie on the torn part of the seat. Color in the light part. 😋
Hello Holly
That is a fantastic car. You have done so well. Good luck for your driving future🤩☘️👏
Looks like a beautiful car
Thank you ☺️
