- Aniki Cosplay's shield is very professionally constructed, but made for smaller body types and has too much Velcro.
Manuel "Maniac" Urbaneck's shield is the Zyuranger Stunt Version. Better shape, show accurate, more flexible, but the materials make it feel more homemade compared to Aniki's sleek finish.

Nice comparison video mate! I own the Hero version of Maniac's shield and I love it. A few small issues like you point out but it's still a great piece of art. Looks way more show accurate than the Aniki

Cool review. I think you can fix the issue of Velcro grabbing threads on the spandex with the one set of arm bands by placing a piece of Velcro overtop of the exposed Velcro. Then you just need to find some gold cloth that matches the color of the bands and you can hide the Velcro strap.
Great review man very informative I've heard this is a lot about anikis stuff both shields look great but the customer service and fit are the most important it's these kind of issues why I decided to just make my stuff myself so it's custom fit and I know what I'm getting when you could also try removing those inner parts on the aniki shield I don't think there support material I think there just padding that's raising the shield for a smaller person if you remove those or carve them down some carefully that shield may cover up the diamond better just a thought happy cosplaying dude keep up the awesome reviews well done 😀

To be honest, I prefer Maniac's shield over Aniki's in terms of shape and size. This was helpful because I have been wanting to get a Dragon Shield for my Red Ranger costume. I have been looking at the Cosjoy ones on Ebay as well, and they look nice but I have no idea how it actually is in person. They usually go for about $140 + $50 shipping.

Does Aniki paint their shields or cover with a gold pleather vinyl type fabric? Aniki looks smooth as butter but I like Maniacs hero version more. Also, does the back of Maniacs or Aniki go down to a point as far as the front? Sorry for all the questions! Thanks so much for making this video
Glad you are getting your costume situated. Do you know if Maniacs hero shield is the same material as the stunt that you purchased? Specifically the lighter more flexible foam? As far as the shields go, I currently own Anikis hero shield I, am 5'7 and around 180lbs so it fits me pretty well. My only real issue is the amount of velcro. Specifically the back, it feels like I am going to destroy the thing every time I take it apart. I have yet to remove the velcro on the front but i did cover it in command hooks and packing tape, not the prettiest solution but it functions. I am trying to find a way to replace the velcro with magnets
Daniel Belton when I asked him, Maniac said the only difference was shape. I specifically asked about materials but he said he made them the same way.
Awesome. I will have to go to him if/when my Aniki shield gives up on existence. Watching your video makes me wish Maniacs lines were as clean as Anikis are.

I would go with Maniac and cover the fabric on the inside myself. I would rather have a pretty good prop made by a nice small business guy than a great prop made by someone who doesnt care about customers.
